I was satisfied at first. It seemed like a great pair of headphones and the only things I didn't like about them were just personal preferences.
A few days after, I ran some bass shaker tests and sure enough, my right ear cup is rattling.
This has become quite a nuisance for me, i've spent hundreds of dollars on pairs of headphones and they all freaking rattle for different reasons.
How much money do I have to spend to get a decent pair of headphones that doesn't rattle!?!

These headphones are the industry standard for location audio recording and production, and after finally trying them, I can see why. They are light, and very comfortable, and despite seeming to be kind of a mix between on-ear and over ear, they have excellent isolation from background noise, comparable to that of my Sennheiser HD280s, which are my daily driver cans for location sound work.

I have been doing some A/B tests against those Sennheisers, which are at a similar price point, and I'm quite surprised. The Sony MDR-7506 headphones have very rich sound, but not overly coloured. The entire frequency spectrum is represented clearly. My HD280s sound very flat by comparison. Flat is good when recording audio, so you can tell if something is wrong, but now I realize the HD280s are kind of...lifeless. The quality of sound is just as good as my open-back Sennheiser HD 558s, although they lack the spatial sense of open back headphones, and feel more compressed and "inside your head". Of course, open back headphones would be awful for field recording, so this isn't a bad thing.

I'm no audiophile; but I do know what I like - plus I have spent quite a few dollars on high end headphones in my time.

For the price - these are probably the best headphones by any measure.

If you look carefully; you'll see these headphones in behind-the-scenes videos in recording studios all the time. From what I can tell, they are what pros Actually use.

Don't waste money on Beats by Dre; these are the true hotness.

Fantastic headphones. I wear them for hours everyday at my computer and they have been perfect. Very comfortable, very well fitting and they sound great. I wish the cable was detachable or straight, but it is very long which is useful if you need to walk around the room while they are plugged in.

Overall, I'm happy with this purchase. The strength of these headphones is in the high-mids and lows, in terms of clarity and response. However, the highs sound slightly over-driven (in comparison to a pair of AKGs that are about twice as expensive) and the low-mids are somewhat less present than I would like. This leads to a less warm sound than some might be looking for. Nevertheless, I think most people (myself included) would be happy with these. Good value for money.

They've been making these headphones since 1992 and the only significant change they made was to switch to neodymium magnets. They sound great and are comfortable, and are easily repairable. They come with a full service manual that tells you how to replace any part, and their part number. They're definitely made to last a long time.

Not an audio expert but sounds amazing to me, detailed rich sound. The only downside, is that the headphones (though does fold) isn't the most portable headphones; just feels a bit cumbersome and carrying bag is cheap. It doesn't look very cool but sounds great.
