It's horrible! The image is normal (which is never super sharp), and then the pixels are as large as a dime, it's crazy... The worst, ever. And the 4K image is so dull and dark, it's almost impossible to watch. I don't understand how a Sony at 400$ ++ is that bad. And, of course, I can't send it back...

Really good picture and sound but not very happy with the operating software. Watching Blu-ray discs, if you pause to go make popcorn or something, it will go to sleep....and then not remember your location when you wake it back up! Having said that, I watched my first 4K UHD movie the other night and it did remember my spot but it seems to run different code for 4K discs judging from the graphics for the controls. Very limited ability for streaming, Netflix and You Tube Only. You CAN NOT add other services so if you want to use this with Disney, Amazon or Spotify you are outta luck. Also, not sure if this is You Tube or the app but am getting absolutely bombarded with commercials, 2x10 second commercials every 2 minutes. My Samsung Smart TV doesn't seem that bad. YT isn't worth watching on this device. And finally, the machine occasionally locks up completely when using YT, or sometimes the disc player, which requires unplugging to reset. Have had the machine for a little over a month and this has happened three times.

I don't mind having to manually activate or deactivate the Dolby Vision protocol; I'm not that lazy. Both the 800M2 and the earlier X700 possessed and granted access to Dolby Vision in the same way. However, what I like the most about the X800M2 over the X700 is that the unit, being a way heavier and solid unit, runs quieter. If you have your equipment isolated in a soundproofed cabinet or off-site equipment closet, this may not be a problem, but if like my set up, the UHD Blu Ray player is right under the screen, when a 4K Blu Ray movie revs up you can hear the motor spinning furiously on the Sony X700. It's way quieter on the X800M2, nowhere near as distracting during quiet moments during a movie.
