Honestly I was pretty impressed with these headphones. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get them based off of people reviewing them poorly. However, I think the people leaving the reviews are a part of some niche headphone community. I went from AirPods to these and I can tell you these are WAY better. They are comfortable and have good sound quality. Compared to $400 Sony headphones, they might not have as good sound. But truthfully, it’s not that noticeable of a difference. I tried them all in the store and the only difference I noticed was the noise cancellation. These don’t have COMPLETE noise cancellation but they do a solid job. Overall if you can’t afford $400 headphones, these are a great alternative.

I'm old enough to have had a Walk-Man, a Disc-Man, and all other manner of popular Sony products over the years. But in the 90s, I felt Sony was just banking on their brand rather than the quality of their products. Then came the Bluetooth boom in the 2000s, and Sony found themselves behind the times, with deep competition. So they threw themselves back into R&D, and started producing some premium quality audio tech once again.

The WH-CH710N is one such product. The sound quality is pristine, with a level of clarity that deserves the Sony badge. With their Bass Boost technology, the bass response is amazing without being overpowering -- truly, this is Sony's signature.

Furthermore, the active noise cancelling and ambient sound modes are quite good, even during calls. And the microphone pickup does a decent job of focusing on my voice, and background noise is kept to a minimum. Overall, the Sony WH-CH710N is a quality product with an approachable price tag.

My only real gripe is that there is no travel bag/case included, while some other comparable products do. Still, if you're in the market for on-ear headphones, this is definitely worth considering. Happy shopping!

The headphones are alright! The sound quality is good and they're very light. But I will say, the Noise Cancelling kinda sucks. So if that's your main selling point, I would opt for a different pair of headphones.

I almost didn't buy these based on some of the negative reviews like not comfortable or bad sound quality. I don't know what they were talking about. It's great for both. My though for a quality headset that sounds good, is comfortable and long lasting battery it's great. Before these I had Bose and these are comparable at half the price( cyber Monday deal form me) the Noise canceling is ok, I don't really see a difference but not my main concern

Granted these were on sale (Prime Day -61%), I thought that a reputable brand like Sony and an original price of $250, I should be blown away by the sound quality. I was not. The quality was "OK" but nothing special. With taxes, I paid just over $100. I have to say, I was much more impressed with my Cowin E7 for around the same price.
When I first got these Sony WH-CH710N, the package had been previously opened (it has an Amazon Inspection label on it, so I am assuming it was opened by someone at Amazon), and the outer box torn. After unboxing it, again, it looked like it was previously opened. I found only one cable - the 3.5mm patch cord to use if want to plug in directly to a source. The USB-C charging cable was missing. Being a computer tech, I had my own USB-C cable, so I was able to charge the headphones.
The next day, I did a test. It was easy enough to connect via Bluetooth but found I had to turn the volume up way more than my other headphones.
After increasing the volume, I found the sound quality to be just "OK". Mid-range seemed a bit muted, base was present but not as deep as I had hoped. The sounded ok for classical music but if you desire good deep base from a song like "Havana" , well, I was disappointed.

First of all, I received these in December, charged them ONCE and I use them almost daily for ASMR videos in bed and listening to music at random times around the house. They still proclaim 100% charge which is amazing if true. Sound quality is actually pretty good. The main issue is that when touched they transmit the sound from the contact too much.

Likes: good quality. Easy to use when you get the hang of it. Got it on sale which made the price/value worth it vs other more expensive ear phones.

Dislikes: nothing to complain about.

I have the WH-CN700N model at the office and have been using it for years without issue. When I decided to get a pair for home I figured the 710N was a smart bet assuming it would be better than the 700N.

The power button was unresponsive at times and you couldnt tell if you were actually turning them on, or if you were going to force it into a paired state. When you turned them on, there was no guarantee it would re-pair to the PC. I ended up removing the pair on the computer and doing a re-pair just as that seemed the easiest to do.

Found the audio would chop on occasion (though this might have been due to the bluetooth receiver). If you turned the headset on it seemed like it would wait for a couple seconds to find a pair device and if not it would just shut back off.

The kicker that really said it was the headset as the issue, was 4 or 5 times when I went to turn them on it would come up and say " Power O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-N stuttering for 5 secs.

Extremely disappointed in the headset and ended up returning it only 4 days after getting them. Still undecided if I will try replacing them with a same model, or go to something completely different.

3.0 out of 5 stars Product is fantastic but beware from which seller you are buying

The product is great and meets all the specifications mentioned but I bought it from blumaple seller which claimed the MRP of the product is INR 34,999 but the true MRP is INR 14,990. I called and confirmed with Sony customer care. Blumaple claimed the discounted price to be INR 15,499 and unfortunately I bought it at this price. Later, when I told my friend that this is a good product he looked into it and told me that he sees a different price and MRP which forced me to dig into this and I found out the truth. Again, product is fantastic! Just be careful and buy from authorised sellers only.

These over-the-ear headphones are very lightweight and comfortable to wear. They seemed to be designed to be operated while wearing them because they speak to you as you press the buttons, e.g. Power On/Off, Bluetooth Pairing/Connected/Disconnected, Noise Cancelling, Ambient Sound, etc. Press the power button briefly and it tells you the power level, hold the button a few seconds to turn on/off, and hold it for seven seconds to go into Bluetooth pairing mode. If you have Near Field Communications on your device, my cell phone has this capability, the Bluetooth connects and disconnects when held near the device. In the box are the headphones, and two cables: a headphone cable, and USB-A to USB-C cable. The USB cable is less that 8 inches, not sure why so short, it is difficult to plug into my charging transformer or computer. A 5-volt charging transformer is not included and it is not clear the desired wattage. It did take 7 hours to charge initially. It is listed as having a 35-hour playback time on a charge. The sound quality is very good, I play my music at very high fidelity and these headphones are handling the music exceedingly well. One thing that I wish Sony included is a case for the headphones. There are third-party cases available online. These headphones seem to provide many of the features of Sony’s higher end headphones at a more modest price point. I would certainly recommend them for everyday use. I tested the tree modes; Ambient, Noise Cancelling, and Off. We live on a busy street with much traffic, cars and heavy trucks, which was a perfect setting for the test. Noise Cancelling mode did a great job compensating for the exterior noise, the traffic is loud, and I could barely hear it. As expected in Ambient mode the microphones passed through the street sounds with the music, good if I were walking around and needed to also hear what is going on in the environment and listen to the music. Ambient off turns off the microphones so there is no pass-through sound, so it will depend on the outside volume and your music volume as to how much outside sound you hear. Ambient off also means that Noise Cancelling is off, so if you do not like the compensation that noise cancelling provides, this is your mode. I need to also disclose that I did receive these headphones at a discount in exchange for my honest review. I am pleased with the quality that these headphones provide at a very reasonable price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, but not flawless

The WHCH710N headset is wonderful. Sure, it's not flawless, but it's still a headset worth buying. At a retail price of $200, I've seen it on sale often for $100. That's a very competitive price for a headset with this feature set.

The Pros:
Excellent build quality. These are sturdy, well built, headphones. Although the majority of the build is plastic, in a way that's a good thing.
Excellent sound quality. These headphones produce amazing sound, with a more flat sound profile.
Good noise cancellation. The noise cancellation is good enough, but at certain angles, noise can leak in.
Amazing audio controls. The controls are outstanding. With them also being physical buttons, it's far easier to control and handle without an accidental gesture activation.
Outstanding Bluetooth connection. The Bluetooth connection is simply outstanding. I cant notice any audio delay at all, and it truly feels like a wired headset.

The Cons:
The leatherette ear cushions. They arent that comfortable, but that depends on the ear size of the user. If you have small ears, they will be fine. But if you have larger ears, you may have discomfort. I personally use (and recommend) the SteelSeries Arctis ear cushions as a replacement. ($14.99+fees USD)
Clamping. Depending on the users head size, it can feel a bit clampy. It doesn't hurt, but you can notice it feels snug if you have a bigger head.
Ear discomfort. This headset has a strange black cube that is under the ear cushion, in the middle. I do not know what it is for, but again, depending on the users ear size - this black cube may dig into your ear, causing discomfort.
