Very nice book, but definitely area specific. If one has any connection to Sooke Harbour House - a magical place in SO many ways! - I could see where they would definitely want this as a memento. The artwork featured is lovely, but again, Vancouver Island art work only. If one has a serious interest in Sooke Harbour House history and enjoys books, this is a definite must have. Not so much a recipe book per se, 14 in total and all with ingredients that are Vancouver Island specific - but, all created by renown chef Edward Tuson. It is more an art book and history of SHH. My daughter leads the pastry station at SHH and I've stayed there - so it was a must have for me. I lucked out and got a signed copy by the uniquely eccentric soul behind the creation of SHH, Frederique Philip. Given my interest in SHH, this is a fantastic book. And, Frederique - thank you for creating this incredibly magical place - your energy will be within it, for ever more !!
