5.0 out of 5 stars Very nearly perfect Nov. 29 2013

This case is well made, durable, and inexpensive. I wanted to be able to carry my Nook Touch in my bag without damaging the screen and this case made it possible. The case adds just a bit of bulk, but is surprisingly thin for how incredibly sturdy it is. The back of the case is a hard plastic shell that clips onto and hugs the back of the Nook. The inside of the front cover is ever so slightly contoured to dip in where the screen is, so that debris is less likely to work it's way in and cause damage. The lining has a velvety texture that I've found to be surprisingly dust and hair resistant. (I have two cats and somehow I've never had to clean any hairs away after reading.)
My one suggestion to Speck (along with many other reviewers) would be to devise a better closure system. I didn't dock a star for this minor complaint for two reasons: I read reviews beforehand and was aware that the case had elastic closure, and more importantly, I've never had occasion to need the closure system. I know it seems silly to bother to mention it if I don't use it, but it's the one part of the folio that doesn't seem to meet the same higher standard of quality.
Overall, I love it and recommend it highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best overall case for the Nook Aug. 15 2012

I don't like bulky cases. This one exactly fits around the back and sides of the nook, and has about as thin a cover as you can put on the front that still completely protects the screen. No problem reading while in the case, the cover flips around behind, and the elastic strap can be used to hold it there completely out of the way. It gives the feeling of being indestructible while also feeling good in the hand. I still like the feel of the nook "naked", but it is too fragile to be carried around that way.

Highly recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Case Oct. 19 2012

Just picked this case up for my Nook Simple Touch. Out of the box I'm impressed! I wanted a slimmer case but still wanted ample protection. I really liked the feel and size of the Nook Touch and kept is caseless until last week, when I broke the screen in my backpack somehow. I was determined to not spend money on yet another replacement so I decided on the Speck Fitfolio. The rear part of the case is a fake leather over a plastic skeleton. Nook snaps right in and with a little adjustment fits flush. The screen cover portion is tied to the rear with a strip of material, allowing it to bend back on itself so it's not flapping around when reading. The cover seems like its fake leather on the outside, some kinda internal structure (maybe heavy cardboard, or plastic)sandwiched in the cover, and a suede like like liner. Charging port cutout fits the cable easily, and the sleep button on the back is cut perfectly for the button. All in all a great cover for the price, and I think ample protection for most everything except water.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great case for the Nook Simple Touch (with or without Glowlight) Dec 20 2012

I hunted on the internet to find a case for my Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight, and decided to get this Speck Fitfolio case, and I did not regret it. The Nook snaps into place with access to the on/off button on the back, the micro USB connection to sync with the PC, but does not give you access to the micro SD card (which is not a problem at all).

The case has a felt covered inner flap which comes in contact with the front of the Nook and the display, and when closed, it does not add much bulk to the Nook, which is one of the reasons I like this case. The flap folds back easily to hold the Nook for reading.

My only qualm is that when the case is closed, the flap is held closed by a elastic band, and I do not know how long this elastic band will last before it looses its elasticity and thereby making the case not able to have the front flap firmly closed. I guess only time will tell for now.

All in all, it is a great case, and highly recommended!
4.0 out of 5 stars Slim & protective Feb. 12 2013

I have the Nook simple touch with glowlight and was looking for a case that was slim, built well, but still very protective for hanging out in my purse or just hanging around the house. It looks good, (black leatherette feel) and the cover can be folded all the way back and strapped in. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars in because it uses a bungee strap to wrap around a plastic piece and the bungee at times is really quite difficult to grab and latch or unlatch because it is really really tight. (which I suppose is better than it being too loose) I'm sure those with longer nails would easily break a nail trying to grasp it. It's just hard to get your finger underneath it. Other than that, it's a great case and i'm really quite happy with it, and i've had it for about a month and a half.
