5.0 out of 5 starsDon't start if you have an important appointment booked.

The story continues to develop, and stays unpredictable. It keeps to an evolving but consistent set of rules, which is a great relief from stories dependent on unlikely coincidence. An excellent mix of relatively normal characters and extraordinary settings. The writing style is light and easy to read so you can rush through it or study carefully. If using the former method then you'll soon come back to enjoy it more slowly. Tony Harmsworth is one of the rare authors whose books I regularly re-read. The only fault I can find is that I'm going to have to wait for the next. Thoroughly recommended.
5.0 out of 5 starsThe wait was well worth it - Riveting!

Wow-what a page-turner! Or in my case a Kindle device page swiper! I just could not put it down until I’d finished it.
After having read Trappist-1, I thought the story had become a time travel yarn. I have always wondered what a pristine Earth would look like without an infestation of human beings. But an alternative universe where humans never evolved, that would make a great exploration story in itself.
The Spolding Conundrum is like a cosmic scale Rubics Cube, where every significant jump through hyperspace-dark universe is a random twist of the entiroverse. Suppose the number of possible universes is limitless. Then getting back to the exact starting position is nye on impossible.
It sure makes for a complicated storyline where characters could double or triple up, which is entirely possible depending on where you decide to take the story.
I knew a cliff hanger was coming at the end of The Spolding Conumdrum, not sure I like it. It’s a bit Cyberdyne Systems from Terminator. But I’ll stick with it and buy the next one because I’m hooked on it, Tony!
5.0 out of 5 starsAn interesting slant on science fiction.

Another interesting story from the fertile mind of Tony Harmsworth! I like his style of writing it’s a change from most science fiction that seems to concentrate on war and conflict! The Mark Noble series continue to go in an interesting direction and I look forward to reading book five.
