The peeler takes off the outer layer of the item you are peeling just the right amount, not too deep, not too shallow. The blemish remover at the end protrudes a half inch from the peeler, is strongly built and has a dimple in it to help carve out a good amount of vegetable or blemish. Peeler has no sharp edges on the gripping part and has no crevices for food residue to hide so it cleans up really well. I'm happy with this. I'm buying another.
