After retiring from his life as an outlaw, Nathaniel Reed (Trace Adkins) has settled down to a quaint family life with his wife Laura Lee. But Reed s new, honest life is quickly interrupted when his old partner in crime Frank Bell shows up to inform Reed that US Marshal Calhoun is out to kill them over an old grudge and he's enlisted bounty hunter Bonnie Mudd to help. After a gun battle that supposedly kills his wife, Reed flees to lead Bell and Sid Dalton on a series of stagecoach robberies. The men become the most wanted outlaws in the West as they try to avoid Calhoun and clear Reed s name.

Now there was a historical Nathanial Reed, aka Texas Jack who robbed stagecoaches. The story in this film looks nothing like his history found on-line. Sid (Judd Nelson) may be the only one that was historical besides the Dalton. The story and acting was wooden. The story line was predictable, probably because most of it wasn't true. This must be the Saturday morning version.
Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

Although I usually enjoy actor, Kim Coates, he was a little too much of a cartoon bad guy in this role and the female bounty hunter sidekick was unconvincing and unnecessary. (Maybe actress Helena Marie is somebody's sweetie.)
The story holds your attention thanks mainly to Adkins who fits the role of western anti-hero so well.
If you enjoy westerns, you will probably like this movie.
