Of the four original Star Trek episodes dealing with alternate realities, Mirror Mirror--the very first episode igniting the idea of a parallel universe inhabited by meaner and evil minded counterparts, is here. I especially liked that this episode was the enhanced version, being that the whole presentation is crisp and clear so much so that you can actually see the hairs on the goatee that Mr. Spock's parallel counterpart wears.
I have the original Mirror Mirror and as much as I like it for nostalgic sake, this digitally enhanced version will surely please fans of this classic episode as well as the enhanced episodes, Turnabout Intruder, (a woman switching bodies with Kirk) The Enemy Within (Kirk having the bad alternate part of himself running amuck aboard the Enterprise after a transporter malfunction) and The Alternative Factor (two time travellers, one existing in a positive universe the other a negative one of whom Kirk must prevent them from meeting as one person).
I personally have also enjoyed the Enterprise parallel universe episodes, In a Mirror Darkly Part 1 and 2, included in this collection. Just seeing the alternate Captain Archer, Hoshi, T' Pau, doing their thing as darker and or alternate versions with different personalities is good fun, especially since these two episodes come to you from the alternate universe itself--the same one from Mirror-Mirror!
For me, the excellent juxtaposition of both Spock's on the this collection cover was enticement enough to explore all 20 plus episodes. The only negative, being some episodes left out that would have also fit in nicely here--not included I suppose for some alternate reasoning...
All in all, if you want a great glimpse into what parallel universes and alternate realities may hold in terms of Star Trek lore and the characters you know and love, or if you just want to watch tease your mind with visions totally out of this world, this collection is the logical way to go!
