About the Author
In the early 1990s, at a party, someone put a tarot deck in Barbara's hands; she's held on tightly ever since. Tarot provides just enough structure so that we don't get lost as we explore the mysteries, plumb our dark corners, and locate our North Stars.
Barbara has been reading and writing for as long as she can remember. She's published a number of books on tarot, including Tarot for Beginners, Tarot Spreads, The Steampunk Tarot, The Gilded Tarot, The Mystic Dreamer Tarot, and Tarot of the Hidden Realm. Writing is solitary work and is relieved by teaching tarot at conferences around the world. Barbara also loves working directly with clients, helping them uncover guidance and insight in the cards.

I noticed that for me, this tarot works great for only the following topics : career and finance.
The majority of the cards convey intellectual curiosity, creativity, materialism and action. I feel that the tarot emanates the energy of Wands the most, then equally the energy of Swords and Pentacles. The energy of Cups is barely felt. This is why I found it hard to use them for relationship readings.
What is very interesting is that the majority of deck has female characters and I really loved the fact that these characters look strong, independent and intelligent in comparison to a typical portrayal of female characters among some other decks looking overly sexual or being too passive.
Barbara Moore takes her love of Tarot and mixes it with a fascination with Steampunk. The result...is stunning to say the least. Her interpretations are amazing and even thought provoking at times. After all, Steampunk is probably one of the best matches genre wise for Tarot; the age of innovation slowly consuming the age of nature... The conflict of mysticism, science and nature that tends to enter into Steampunk stories allows for a nice spin on the Tarot cards. The only complaint I have is that I wish the cards were a little bigger or that the booklet came with full colour images; because neither quite capture the beauty of the artwork that was used.
However, either way if you like steampunk or tarot cards or even both, I definitely say this is a good buy.
