About the Author
Myra Goodman, with her husband Drew, founded Earthbound Farm on their 2 1/2-acre backyard in 1984. From an heirloom raspberry patch and roadside stand, Earthbound Farm has become the largest grower of organic produce in North America. As a passionate advocate for organic food and farming, Myra has appeared on dozens of television shows, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, and Good Morning America Health, and has been featured in many publications, including More, People, and Bon Appetit . She is the author of Food to Live By and The Earthbound Cook, and the inspiration behind Earthbound Farm's farm-stand cafe. She and her husband live on their original farm in Carmel Valley, California.
Marea Goodman grew up on the farm where Earthbound Farm began, and learned to cook surrounded by an abundance of fresh organic produce. She graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with a degree in Spanish and Portuguese, and spent many happy months traveling throughout Central and South America. Her favorite country was Brazil, where she learned copious things to make with coconuts. One of Marea's life's passions is feeding her loved ones delicious and healthful food. She now lives in Oakland, California, and is an apprentice midwife.

After testing out the cookbook I have to say I don't miss the animal products because the food tastes delicious. The cookbook itself is lovely in my hands and there is page after page of color photos. The meals are welcoming.
This cookbook has many delicious recipes, and I will tell you my favorites so far: The Thai Fresh Spring Rolls with Peanut Dipping Sauce is great. I have shared this recipe with my friends who loved it too.
For breakfast I recommend the Blueberry Cornmeal Pancakes and the Quinoa Banana Skillet Cakes--Yum!! As a hearty meal I enjoyed the Seared Polenta with Spicy Heirloom Tomato Sauce; and the Four Bean & Sweet Potato Chili with Skillet Corn Bread. For dessert I loved the Coconut Almond & Raspberry Jam Thumbprint Cookies, and the Very Chocolaty Chocolate Brownies. These vegan desserts are very tasty (I don't miss the dairy at all)!

While I am an omnivore, I try to eat more plant based and organic foods whenever possible. In the past, I have sometimes struggled to enjoy some of the vegan food that I have eaten.
This book changes that equation. The recipes are delicious and satisfying for omnivores and vegans alike.
From the Polenta with Heirloom Tomato Sauce and the Eccentric Caesar salad, to the incredible Chocolate Brownies (seriously, you have to try these!!!), this book contains a wealth of recipes that will have carnivores and vegans celebrating at the table together.
