HASH(0xa36f7d50) out of 5 stars I got it right the first time! Nov. 19 2009
By Alex's wish list - Published on
Format: Paperback
My fiancee is from New Orleans and can't get cajun/creole cusine where we live. I tried the red beans and rice in the box, the kind from the grocery store and it did not cut it. I received my copy of "A street car named delicious" and found some easy recipes that were easy for me to make. The first recipe I tried was Elysian Fields Old-fashioned chicken stew for Sunday dinner. The recipe was to the point, helpful (the method) part explains HOW to cook it in plain English. It took only 30 minutes to make. I cooked up some rice to go with it and it was all done!

When I tasted it I knew I had hit on something. It was in fact very delicious indeed. You would have thought I spent all day cooking that stew. The whole family absolutely loved it, and I got the thumbs up for authenticity from my fiancee'.
I will recommend this book to anyone who wants to cook authentic cajun/creole cusine.Spice Garden Natural Cajun Seasoning, Hot, 3-Ounce Jar (Pack of 6) I used this seasoning to flavor the chicken.
Love it!

HASH(0xa2592a80) out of 5 stars The Real Deal Cookbook Dec 10 2009
By Poet's Pen - Published on
Format: Paperback
I initially bought three of these for my daughter and two daughters-in-law. As soon as I browsed through it I knew I had to have one for myself and then got three more for friends as Christmas gifts; that makes seven and counting.

HASH(0xa2342384) out of 5 stars A taste of pure New Orleans Dec 10 2009

A Streetcar Named Delicious......Came at the best time, living in Louisiana I am always looks for great recipes to cook for family and friends. We love our get togethers (gatherings). These recipes can be prepared for a family of two or a large group.
I'm so glad I ordered an extra one, it makes a great gift. This cookbook is defiantly sharing his love of great food and New Orleans. During our brief snow storm (all of 10 minutes of snow) we made the Southern Decadence Shrimp Creole dish, easy and delicious. I really enjoyed all the special little readings throughout the book. I can tell already this will be one of my favorites.

A Streetcar Named Delicious is an early cook book by Todd-Michael. T-M tests all his recipes before putting them in any cook book. In fact, if you follow him on Facebook, sometimes he sometimes post a picture of some truly delicious dish or dessert with the accompanying recipe. If you would really like to try some New Orleans recipes I would recommend A Streetcar Named Delicious or any of the cook books by Todd-Michael. He is definitely a New Orleans treasure!
