Product Description

It's time for more baseballs than a girl knows what to do with!

Every girl wants a fairytale life—every girl except Jaycee Shumway. She wants to keep her brother and sister out of the hands of Child Protective Services, find a way for her brother to attend college while she has the ability to support her young sister financially after he leaves. When the opportunity for easy money lands in her lap, desperation makes her risk it all.

Yes, she knew she was breaking the law, and yes, she knew she could wind up in jail. But, for once in her life, Jaycee needs cosmic forces to roll in her favor.

Professional baseball player, Reed Tyler, would be considered the perfect prince charming but not on the night he catches Jaycee breaking into his home. Naked and furious he turns the tables on the fighting burglaress to become the evil villain.

When reality snaps Reed back to the real world, how can he resist being a knight in shining armor when he discovers Jaycee holds the one thing he’s always wanted in his life?

Will his wicked mother ruin it all or will Jaycee stand up against the forces of destiny and grab her happy ending?

Throw in the cutest six-year-old you’ve ever met, a Goth brother wise beyond his years, and an old tomcat who melts your heart and you might laugh your way to your own forever after.

There’s three strikes in baseball, nine lives for a cat, and one chance at finding true love.

“Strike” is intended for mature readers. Enjoy with caution… this book contains adult situations and more balls than a girl knows what to do with.

The Completion Novels – A new set of characters each book, though (Kick & Ruck go together). They can be enjoyed in any order and you don’t need to be a sports fan!

Play – A whole lot of alpha
Strike – A little bit kinky
Kick – A love triangle
Slam – A bit of suspense
Ruck – A very bad boy

Completion Series by Holly S. Roberts
This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review.
Do. Not. Get. Caught, these are the words that almost twenty year old Jaycee Shumway keeps repeating in her head as she breaks into baseball star Reed Tyler's house. She is in search of his collection of signed baseballs. She has a fence that is willing to pay her big bucks for these priceless balls. Maybe not quite what they are worth but certainly enough to put food on the table and make things a little bit easier for herself and her younger sister and brother that she is raising.
Unfortunately or fortunately for her, she gets caught by Reed. Now this was not going according to plan. Mr Tyler is NAKED, and not happy that his burglar alarm is going off indicating an intruder. What is a famous baseball player to do? Well tie her to the kitchen chair and cut her shirt right up the middle. Huh, kinky, kinky, I loved it. Jaycee was scared but kind of excited as well.
Reed finds himself thinking driving Jaycee home and can't stop thinking about her. He offers her a job at his house, complete with room and board for her and the siblings. Soon things are hot and heavy between them and even more duct tape gets brought out. He ties her to the bed frame and their now favourite chair on a regular basis.
This story was a little bit hackneyed, rich guy falls for poor girl but it was still very sweet to read. The sex scenes just made the story, the quirky strawbery eating session was extremely well done. He really starts to care for her, overwhelming her with his wealth and she struggles because of it and of course because of her position in society.
I did enjoy reading this story and thought that the siblings added a great deal.

Absolutely loved this book! It was funny, sweet and hot all at the same time ;) The opening chapter has to be one of the best I have read in a long time and the rest of the book followed along at a great pace so much so that I couldn't put it down! I am a sucker for sports themed romance books and this one did not disappoint - hunky sexy baseball player alert!!! - This is the first book that I have read by Holly Roberts and it definitely won't be the last :)

I really like this sports series, it is nice that each book can be read as a standalone novel. It's fun, heart-warming and hot. What more could you ask for in a book. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Author crush! Oct. 6 2014
By A.Stewart - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I started with the second book first(for some reason, but so typical me...) and just immediately fell in love with this author. I won't get into the story line as much as the writing itself. I LOVE her writing style. There was not even a second of the flow and/or story being too slow, too rushed, too boring, or too ridiculous. There were also no issues with sentence structure (and that is a pet peeve of mine having to correct poor sentence structure or verbiage). Character development was awesome, and the romance extremely well done. Many times I like the H much more than the h (and for some reason h's are not written as well as the H) but I loved them both equally. And the siblings? Just as awesome (and how much cuter could Bitsy get?!).

Over-all I would recommend this author to anyone and everyone. The only thing that might not be someone's cup of tea was that it was borderline YA, but just barely. The maturity level of everyone was such that you never realized how young they were. Oh, and another thing that I loved was that conflict was not over-drawn, over- the-top, or unrealistic. It was there, it was dealt with, and people moved on. No excess drama.

Did I mention that I have a crush on this author? I immediately bought and read the first book after finishing this one(and will write a review as well), and I just went and bought the third. I am hoping beyond hope that Ms Holly is feverishly writing another sports romance because I see myself jonesing pretty soon....!

3.90*** stars

This was a nice read for me personally and I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the concept of the story and the way the author meshed the characters together. I was a bit concern at first, because I wasn't sure if the author was going to give me what I needed from the characters, because of their ages, but I think mission accomplished. I also liked that this story could be a stand alone, although it is a part of a series, I didn't need to read the first book to be updated and was able to dive right in to this story.

The opening scene and chapter for Strike, was so interesting and such a page turner, that that had to be one of the best and most interesting break ins I've read lol. It also sets the pace for the rest of the story and the relationship brewing between Jaycee and Reed. Reed is a baseball star at 25 and Jaycee is 20, struggling to keep her family together and food on the table. Once Reed got pass Jaycee's wall and Jaycee lets her guard down and her pride at receiving handouts, the chemistry between both Jaycee and Reed was a pleasure to read.

I liked that the author also allowed us the opportunity to get to know Jaycee's brother, Jon and sister, Bisty. It was nice seeing Reed having to work as well to bond with them, and Bisty was just too adorable.

Overall, it wasn't great, but it wasn't a bad read and I was entertained on all different levels with this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it Jan. 21 2014

Holly S Roberts has done it again with Strike. Everything Ive read from Holly has been awesome. Strike is the second book in her sports series but can be read as a read alone book it has nothing to do with the first book PLAY which was awesome and hot.....So with that said Reed is a 25 yr old baseball player who has the looks and the money to back it up. Jaycee is 19 and poor, works at a burger shack and is raising her 6 yr old baby sister and 15 yr old brother since her mother died. Jaycee is desperate for some fast cash so she decides to break into reeds home what she didn't expect was to run right into his hard naked body and what takes place after that is a love story that will have you laughing and crying. The chemistry between the two was spot on. This story will pull at your heart strings one moment and have you fanning your face the next moment. The sex was hot the feeling were real and the ending was awesome. I never thought I would read a book that had something to do with sports but its so much more love trust lust humor.I love these 2 books. I promise you want be disappointed in them. Read play first and I promise you will be hooked and will want to start on strike right behind it.

3.0 out of 5 stars It felt rushed March 5 2014
By Fluffy Unicorn - Published on

This story started out excited and very interesting but it ended not so much. This is about Jaycee (20) providing and taking care of her brother (15) and sister (6) on her own due to her mother's death. She broke into Reed Tyler's home to steal his baseball collection for money and got caught by Reed. After a fight with bloody nose and cut off clothes he takes her home and doesn't press charges. Things moves fast after that were love comes in and some kinky sex. The sex in this book is pretty hot but the storyline near the end felt rushed. I think this story could have been better if we grew a little with the characters to understand their thinking in their heads.

2.0 out of 5 stars Play was hot, this is not April 10 2014

I bought this book because I liked Play, the author's previous novel. This one is poorly written, there is no chemistry between the h and H, and the woe is me, cinderella, back story for the heroine is too cliche and boring (missing parents (check), lives in a trailer (check), works to support younger siblings (check)). And the whole white knight to the rescue thing does not work - he meets her, falls head over heels, and moves her into his house with her whole family within days. Whatever.
