About the Author

J.R. Ubejd Mujagic, Ph.D., P.E., S.E., is an senior associate at Uzan Uzun & Chase Engineers, LLC LLC in Atlanta, GA. He has a vast diverse experience in the design of metal building systems and low- and high-rise conventional buildings of most types and in all major building materials. Mujagic specializes in non-linear analyses and behavior of tall buildings, complex structures and thin-plate buckling, reliability of structures, and design of industrial and other low-rise buildings. He is a member of the ASCE Committee on Methods of Design and is a past member of various MBMA (Metal Building Manufacturers Association) technical and steering committees. Dr. Mujagic holds a Ph.D. in structural engineering from Virginia Tech. His research interests include structural reliability, composite structures and cold-formed steel. He is a member of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) Committee on Specifications and its subcommittees on connections, diaphragms and seismic design. He is also a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Task Committees on Composite Members and Loads and Analysis. He is a licensed Structural Engineer in California, Illinois and Washington and a registered Professional Engineer in several states.
