"Submerged is romantic suspense that will keep you up at night!"--Bestselling Author Dee Henderson

A sabotaged plane. Two dead deep-water divers.

One single clue.

Bailey Craig vowed never to set foot in Yancey, Alaska, again. She has a past, and a reputation--and Yancey's a town that doesn't forget. She's returned only to bury a loved one killed in the plane crash, but then dark evidence emerges and Bailey's own expertise becomes invaluable for the case.

Cole McKenna can face dangerous rescue dives. He can face the fear a murderer may be threatening his town. But facing the reality of Bailey's reappearance is a tougher challenge. She broke his heart...but doesn't seem to be the same girl who left Yancey ten years ago. And he's not the same guy she left behind.

Racing against the clock and a rising body count, Bailey and Cole must move beyond the hurts of their pasts to work together until the truth of what is hidden in the depths finally surfaces.

Submerged is suspense with heart: both romantic and family. Cole feels a burden for his younger siblings, and for a troubled teen in the church youth group. He also sees Bailey’s struggle with self-worth. Despite the faith that turned her life around, she feels like she’ll never measure up.

As the two of them search her aunt’s belongings for clues to the mystery, danger mounts, and old feelings come back to life.

This is book one in the Alaskan Courage series. I’m looking forward to reading more about the McKenna family.

Okay, this was one good read!

I am not usually prone to read Romantic Suspense but lately I've read a couple of books in that category that I've really enjoyed!

Needless to say, Submerged is one of them!

What a splendid cover! What a well-crafted story with great characters! (Well, minus the evil ones...)

Readers will enjoy diving into this book and exploring the beauty of Alaska. With plenty of details, thrill and suspense, 2 heart-warming love stories and a beautiful spirit in the McKenna household, Dani has penned a story that will stay with you long after you've turned the last page.

Cole and Landon definitely deserve to have their names on a Christian Fiction's Best Heroes list! I can hardly wait for Landon and Piper's story and I'm really hoping that something is cooking for Gage, Kayden and Jake!

My only complaint would be that I've found the beginning to be a bit slow but before I even got halfway through the story, I was in knee-deep! Now that's what I call talent.

Excellent. Simply excellent!

Bailey Craig’s visit to Yancey Alaska is one she really doesn’t want to make. Cole McKenna, her high school sweetheart, is one of the main reasons. He’s the guy Bailey dreads meeting the most because of the shameful way she treated him when her life began to go off the rails ten years ago. But she can’t miss the funeral of the aunt that took her in and loved her in spite of the mess she made of those years.

Her planned stay of a week or so stretches on as it becomes apparent that Aunt Agnes’s death was no accident. Cole begs her to stay, convincing her that her expertise in Russian artifacts and history will be useful in finding the murderer. As early as the prologue we are on the alert for that unnamed and sinister character. Infrequent flashes into his viewpoint throughout the book keep us off balance and looking over our shoulder as we try to anticipate his next move.

I enjoyed the Alaskan setting and the foray into the world of deep sea and treasure diving. The Russian artifact aspect of the story was interesting too, uncovering a part of Alaska’s history that I knew little about.

Though the pace of the story falters a bit in the middle, it sure picks up at the end where author Pettrey’s skills are showcased in a couple of heart-pounding scenes. The writing is strong all the way through.

A Christian worldview comes through clearly and without apology. The story’s message of forgiveness, self-acceptance, and leaving behind the past to embrace a new life in Christ is impossible to miss.

For a sweet romance delivered via a suspense-filled tale, Submerged won’t disappoint.

(I received Submerged as a gift from the publisher for the purpose of writing a review. )

I loved this book! This is the premier novel for Pettery, and it is fabulous. The adventure, the danger, the romance, and the strong faith of the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and had great difficulty putting it down (thankfully my husband has the ability to cook supper at times like that). Dani Pettrey is an author to watch! I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out. Did I mention that the book is fabulous?

I highly recommend this book to readers of romantic suspense.

The more romantic suspense books I read, the more I like love them! This book was an absolute page turner right till the very end! Definitely not a book you'll want to read slowly as it sucks you in too fast & you have to find out how it ends!! There were a couple of loose ends that I'd absolutely love to see continued in a second book! (Hint to the author!!) This book is fast paced & filled with mystery & a little bit of sweet romance thrown in for good measure! It shows you what can be done when you put your faith in God & let him do His work! A wonderful & faith filled read! Loved it!! :)

The author did a great job of pairing this adventure story with its beautiful setting. Although a work of fiction, Pettrey used real facts to blend in and create a family connection to the characters. Submerged features a wonderful cast of characters with storylines that set the stage for future books.

It was an adventurous story from start to finish that kept me guessing. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Alaskan Courage series. I would recommend this series to people who enjoy reading adventurous Christian fiction.
