Product Description

Bi-sexual wizard Randall Wise is the quintessential good guy. Still single at thirty, he’s never had a relationship or even a brush with love. Rand is convinced that good guys finish last at love and decides he needs to change if he's ever going to find a mate of his own. Then he looks out his bedroom window to find that the sexiest guy he’s ever laid eyes on has moved in next door.

Brendan Thorne is gay, klutzy, and to his thinking, ordinary. At twenty-six, he’s got a baby face that makes men treat him as they would an innocent little brother. Determined to at least get laid, Brendan sexes up his appearance and finds his hot new neighbor ready and willing to do the dirty with him. The sex is amazing and both Rand and Brendan sense it’s the start of something more. But is it real love or just magic?

I enjoyed this story, especially the various behind the scenes machinations that were designed to bring two guys together. Randall is a wizard about to rise to Mage status. He's played the field on both sides of the sexual fence but has never had a real relationship. He's basically such a good guy that everyone likes him but he just can't find that one person who's his soul mate. And then he looks out his bedroom window and sees a new neighbour in the house next door. Brendan just happens to be incredibly cute, adorable even. Brendan's self image is something quite different though: he sees himself as plain and very ordinary and nobody's catch.

Both guys decide that they have to change their approach. No more nice guy; no more plain and sweet. So when they do meet and there's an immediate attraction, neither one can keep up the pretence for very long, not that it matters, since they're definitely falling for each other. But is it magic or real? And is it coincidence that they're b brought together? What about the new black cat that has shown up in Brendan's house? There are some good, humorous parts to this story and some very hot, detailed sex as well. But somehow, there's an air of innocence that makes the characters and the entire story that much more endearing.

I liked all of the characters including the supporting cast. I'm a fan of magic in stories so was attracted immediately and this one delivered. The love story is great; the characters are believable and interesting; and there's a nice ending to tie it all up. I'd love to read a sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars A New Kind of Magic Love Story Nov. 16 2013

I think I need to start keeping track of how I find books. I cannot remember how or where I heard of this but I’m glad I did. This is sort of a simple story but it was interesting. The location is one that accepts magic though no mention was made of where the story takes place. I don’t know if this was a magical city that was protected by spells to allow the residents to practice magic without the fear of someone finding out.
Randall Wise is the last in his group of friends to find his mate. Being bisexual he tries to figure out why everyone around him is mated and he is still searching, figuring that gender not being a deciding factor it shouldn't be so difficult. After a flubbed tryst at the wedding reception for the last of his single friends he heads home. Drunk and lonely he heads to bed where sometime in the night he has the most erotic dream that he can remember. Waking with a sticky confirmation he recalls all of the vivid details but the person that he was with, the surroundings the bed the sheets the decor all vivid and all part of his memory.
A Quote Randall talking to himself: ”He didn’t want to settle. He wanted the one person meant for him, his life mate. He just didn't know how to go about finding that person when women and men alike all bypassed him for the bad boys.”
Brendan Thorne has inherited the house of his Uncle who was a Maje. He isn't the most coordinated and some might call him clumsy. He is also 1/2 wizard and the other 1/2 is human. When he moves in to the house he is immediately comforted by his surroundings. He roams through the house and sees the most incredible man while looking out his window in to the window of the house next door, a very naked man Brendan immediately has desires for this stranger. That same night he goes to bed and has a very se**al and erotic dream also waking with the sticky evidence on his abdomen.
A Quote Brendan talking to himself: ”I need to be a sexy, dirty, top-you-from-the bottom sex kitten. Cute, sweet boy-next-door types who look innocent don’t get any real men! All I get are as****es who think my cherry needs popping”
The Author explains through Rand’s Godparents that everyone has a mate and to be patient and his will come.
The boys end up finding each other as Destiny has deemed. The Author Lex Valentine give us a fast paced story with cute and sexy characters. Once these 2 guys get together the sex is abundant, but it isn’t mundane. I’m glad I bought it and I recommend it to anyone who wants a light sexy story.

I loved the characters in this story! They were both trying SO hard to win each other over, when it would have been so much easier to just be themselves. The zany relatives and spooky pets made me laugh out loud. It's a sweetheart of a romance with a side dish of sexiness. Fun and funny; Sunday's Child is an entertaining Novella + length story with interesting magical concepts and well written dialog. Lex Valentine is a master of her craft!

Could have been super good. The end I felt was rushed. We never found out if Brendan ever got his power.
