Product Description

In the 29th century, Cam, one of the few survivors alive seven decades after the catastrophic end of an already diminished society continues his story of the events, tragedies and joys that have filled his life in the years that have passed. Making friends, losing loved ones, and finding hope, the journeys of his past will serve as a reminder to the future generations of the tantamount destruction wrought by negligence, fear, and the 'I' comcept.

This book will captivate you with the first page, keeping you enthralled till the very last.

HASH(0xa4160bb8) out of 5 stars Pelee Island/Bay/Canada June 17 2013
By Chief, USN Ret...VT Town - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Coming across Waterville, OH, is a life saver for Cameron, Tara and his dad. The inhabitants of Waterville take a close look at the wagon. The family is not allowed to stay but the town voted and said they might be allowed to return after one year of living on the outside.

The wagon was reinforced and repaired. Upon closer inspection, one of the scientists had placed a map to an underground shelter on Pelee Island. (near Lake Michigan - or what is left of it). This provides shelter, water and food for them for years. Everything to sustain them for a long, long time....

The story of Cam's capture, the arduous trek to Bay in a cage, trip to Canada and his return to Pelee Island is heart wrenching.

I like the manner in which this tale is told. "Now" and "then" takes on a mystique of its own.

The greater question is "How long would you stay in an underground shelter even if provided with all of the comforts?"

Highly recommended...

This is the second book in a good story about the past and the present. I am eagerly anticipating the next book.

I really enjoyed this book. It has a lot of depth, good attention to detail, and the characters feel 'real'. The author did a good well-rounded job carrying the story forward from the first book and capturing what this situation would be like in real life. I look forward to reading the next books in this series. I wish I hadn't waited so long to get around to reading this volume, since there already a couple more volumes available! Good job, author!
