Product Description

Inside a drop-dead sexy, hard-partying rock star lies a good heart...and a dark secret.

Twenty-something Kat Reid is loving life as an in-demand Hollywood makeup artist. She has absolutely no interest in rock 'n' roll, but in order to pay the mortgage, she agrees to work on the set of a rock video for the world-famous rockers known as Bad Habit...which brings her face-to-face with Nico Nyx, lead singer of Bad Habit and Adonis in the flesh.

However, the fiercely independent Kat isn't impressed by the hard-living, womanizing rock star. But when Nico's model girlfriend shows up to the set drunk and Kat is tapped to replace her as the video's sexy bride, her combustible chemistry with Nico suddenly threatens to consume the set. Nico feels it, too--and becomes determined to win Kat over, body and soul. Yet behind his rock god swagger, Nico hides a dark secret. Can he rock Kat's world forever, or will he just break her heart?

I LOVE the cover!!! It, it dragged me to this book.

First time reading this author..... And if you enjoyed Kylie Scott's Stage Dive series about Rock Stars, you will love this!!

My initials are KAT (like our hilarious, sexy heroine)!!!!!!!! <3

Siiiiiiigh.... who doesn't love an intense, funny, sexyyyy, heart-felt, gut-wrenching love story?!! From Page 1, I was pulled in by the heroine. She is funnyyyyyy and sarcastic, had me laughing out loud, to the point of snorting (that's my really happy noise). She also had her moments, where you wanted to smack her but nobody is perfect!!! And I am glad that the author didn't make her perfect.......just perfect for him! That is what I really took from this wonderful author, that life isn't t perfect. It is messy. It is hard, but when you have the right person beside you, the journey is so much more tolerable..... and having sweaty, dirty-talking sex doesn't hurt either!!!! Phew. Incredibly intense!! Yea, that pretty much describes our Hero, Nico. He is very intense, and I loved every word!

There were parts, I SOBBED!!!!!!! I couldn't put it down......

J.T. Geissinger makes us BELIEVE in the fairytale!!!

I devoured this in one evening.

SWEET AS SIN is the first installment in J.T.Geissinger’s adult, contemporary BAD HABIT rocker romance series focusing on the rock band Bad Habit. This is lead singer and songwriter Nico Nyx, and makeup artist Kat Reid’s storyline.

Told from first person point of view (Kat) the storyline focuses on the tempestuous and insta-lust/love relationship between Kat and rock superstar Nico Nyx. Kat and Nico met on the set of Bad Habit’s latest video and the connection was immediate. Kat was hired as the make up artist but found herself defending Nico’s intoxicated ‘sometime girlfriend’ Avery Kane. What ensues is Nico’s pursuit of a reluctant Kat; and the fall out of too many lies, secrets and Nico’s intense and overwhelming need for Kat Reid. A good portion of the storyline finds Kat and Nico trying to negotiate between one another’s insecurities, and need for reassurance and affirmation. Jealousy, rivalry and a lack of trust are constant sources of turmoil and turbulence.

Nico and Kat are two broken souls whose past lives are filled with abuse, betrayal, and pain, and in this their ability to trust is non-existent. Nico keeps secret his history, revealing only what he wants Kat to know and in this Kat is unable to build the trust she requires to hand over her heart to the man with whom she is falling in love. The backstory is heartbreaking and reveals slowly over the course of the storyline but in doing so begins to build a wall between our leading couple.

SWEET AS SIN is a storyline with a large ensemble cast of characters including the members of the rock band Bad Habit. We are introduced to stylist Kenji; Nico’s head of security and best friend Barney; and Michael-Nico’s brother and a man whose past is darker than most.

I wanted to like this book soooo much more then I did.
I don't know if it was the avoidance of info. It just felt kind of holy.
Nico is hot no doubt about it. I loved this band.
I just didn't how he was to mysterious it felt like I said before to many holes. But since I have read the second book and loved it. I thought back to this book and I am glad I read it for sure. I did make some thing a bit more clearer.

Kat is awesome and I love her friends so very much. I don't know with her past if I would have been as open to Nico considering how closed off he was with her.

I am so invested in this series now I want more.

HASH(0x997b66d8) out of 5 stars Exciting start to new rock saga July 14 2015
By monadh - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Actually I don't really like stories featuring Rock stars, but when one of my favorite PNR authors ventures into new territory, I have to give it a try. The story is in turns intense, gripping, emotional, funny, and with a hint of darkness thrown in.
Katherine "Kat" Reid is makeup artist to the rich and famous in Hollywood. When on the set for a music video she refuses to be intimated by gorgeous Nico Nyx, lead singer of the Rock band Bad Habit and stands up to him when he tries to bully Avery Kane – a supermodel who by the media is considered to be his on-and-off girlfriend – the sparks fly. As Avery is unable to perform, Kat is recruited on short notice to play the part of Nico's bride in the video (and she accepts, as she is offered an outrageous salary and a girl has got to eat). After, Nico wants to see her again, but Kat is hesitant, since her past is littered with bad boyfriend choices. But Nico persists, and since in person he is actually quite nice and not as much of a jerk as one would expect the lead singer of a Rock band to be, Kat finally caves in and decides to give him a chance. But they both have baggage and secrets and finally Nico's past catches up with them and put their love to the test…
This is the first book in J. T. Geissinger "Bad Habit" Rock trilogy. I features the three friends Kat, the make-up artist, Chloe, the florist and Grace, the therapist. I enjoyed the dynamics between the three women, but I would have liked to have a bit more background as to how the three women met as they appear quite different. Hopefully we will learn a bit more about them as the series progresses.
The story is told in first person narration, from the perspective of Kat. I really like her voice, she comes across as intelligent and funny, just enough self-deprecating to be likable and to identify with. Her inner monologue made me chuckle several times. But she is also self-assured and knows what she wants.
Nico, aside from being impossibly gorgeous and confident, is also sensitive and thoughtful. But he also suffered violent rages at the slightest provocation, which I did not find sexy at all. He never actually was violent to Kat, but in my view a relationship is already abusive when the other partner is afraid to speak her mind out of fear of sparking or prolonging one of those outbursts and instead tries to placate. Therefore their relationship at times seemed to move towards unhealthy territory, which also was reflected in their sex life. I love some (light) kink – in this case spanking – but if it is done, not in a playful mood, but for the person performing the spanking to release/express their anger, than it becomes problematic for me, even if the person on the receiving end is enjoying it.

HASH(0x997b672c) out of 5 stars This books gets 5 stars.. why? Because as dark and disturbing as it was, I believed! July 14 2015

J.T. Gessinger starts off her new series Bad Habits, with a bit of Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll.. and more than a little intense romance.

Kat Reid has a pretty good life. An excellent reputation as a make up artist, good friends and her own home in LA.. Then she's drawn into an entirely different world when she goes to a typical make up job, only to become the star of the video.. It seems the model/actress that was hired is too doped up to keep going and the lead singer has fallen for Kat. He wants her so of course he gets her.. only he wants her for more than the video and Kat? She's not so sure.

Nico Nyx came out of nowhere and became a star. His talent is fast becoming legendary and his looks? Let's just say, I see panties strewn across any stage he is on. But he has a dark and dangerous past, one that drags him down on a regular basis. None of that matters when he see Kat Reid, somehow he knows, she's it. Only she doesn't seem the least bit interested. How can Nico overcome his reputation and make Kat take him seriously?

Ms. Gessinger tells a dark and troubled romance and folks, this is not a pretty story. There is so much dysfunction going on it's scary. But it works.. this story worked because these two characters were so flawed, they have that Heathcliffe and Cathy thing going on, sort of.. You know where they are thoroughly unlikable characters but you keep reading about them?? Except.. Kat and Nico aren't that dis-likable. They have potential..

It's a tug of war of emotions. A dark and sinister past plays into Nico and Kat's chance of love and both of them have to step out and really trust in the other. As I read this book, I kept thinking I wasn't liking it. It disturbed me but I kept going because I had no choice. Ms. Gessinger pulled me in and I wept for these two. Now? I am waiting not very patiently for book two.

This books gets 5 stars.. why? Because as dark and disturbing as it was, I believed!

HASH(0x997b6a08) out of 5 stars Male lead is straight up abusive July 28 2015

I can't deny that the story was initially intriguing. However, Nico, the male lead, quickly became controlling and frankly, abusive. I was heartened when the heroine Kat called him on his ugly ways, but was quickly disheartened when nothing was ever resolved. He'd say his "I'm sorry baby, I'm just having a bad day baby, I got so jealous baby" spiel, she'd cave and they'd be back to their incredibly unhealthy relationship. No amount of abuse in his childhood, or anyone's, can excuse his deplorable behavior.

I kept reading, every time hoping that she'd actually call him on his crap and stick with it. She never did.

I stopped halfway through and can't put myself through reading the last half of the book to find out if he ever takes responsibility for his actions and mends his ways.

Sweet As Sin is about a makeup artist who gets a job on the set of a music video, only to become the video model, and to fall in love with the star. The book is about a musician who meets and falls in love with the makeup artist. They each have complicated pasts they need to work through, as well as learning to trust one another, in order to be together. There are obstacles for them finding their happily-ever-after, but they do find it.

With Sweet As Sin, I did not know what to expect, but I knew that it sounded like a good story. The characters in this book made me angry, embarrassed for them, and made me want to smack them for their stupidity. Sweet As Sin was a hot read, but it also had some angst. I always know a book is a good one when I constantly put it down, breathe, and then pick it right back up to continue the story. Throughtout this book, I chuckled a lot, but it also made my heart hurt. This story also has some unexpected twists in it. Sweet As Sin kept me hooked and turning the pages until the very end. I really enjoyed this book. I will definitely be reading more of J.T. Geissinger's work.
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher.

I did not enjoy...I couldn't wait for it to end. It started off ok but then just went downhill. After learning who Avery really was just the thought of her playing Nico's love interest in his video with a bedroom scene was just weird. I mean she showed up high so she couldn't do it, enter Kat, but Avery was the original one hired so yeah weird. I really didn't feel the connection between the characters and Kat really didn't make him work for it as much as she insisted she didn't like musicians. Kat cried at the drop of a hat, like all the time, which was extremely annoying. When AJ, the drummer, asks Kat about Chloe she immediately flips out on him, yells at him and tells him he better not say a bad thing about Chloe, um really?????? that's your reaction to his question, it didn't even make sense. Did you not figure out that he likes her? I got that when Chloe first tells Kat that he growled at her when he walks by him when they are in her flower shop. I normally like dark romances but I just felt this fell felt more over the top than it did dark
