If I remember correctly this book is available for free but after browsing through this on Google Books, I just felt compelled to pay the author for making my life so much easier :)
Remember you can read this book for free on the web if you don't mind staring at a screen since that's where it originated.
It is well organized and most sections can be read independently (although it flows very well when read cover-to-cover). There aren't any assumptions about previous networking knowledge so it's great for newbies too.
Now that I've read it, I'll continue to refer back to it when I forget something or need a clarification.
