HASH(0xa4bd3ad4) out of 5 stars Very Good, But Flawed, Still Recommending May 20 2016
By Jefferey Bowman - Published on
Finally, Victorion is here. The Torchbearers are upon us. They came in with much pomp and circumstance and then kinda fizzled out with a whimper. I'm getting ahead of myself, here, let's start over.

Initial pictures looked terrible, the colors were awful. No amount of trick photography could make this set/combiner look good.
Some still held to the belief that the set would be worthy of our money and that the naysayers would be proven wrong. (They were right, for the most part.)

A few weeks ago, people started getting these in hand and sharing their experiences with their fellow fans/collectors and many of us saw the true beauty of this set and it even swayed me. (I had no desire to own this set in the beginning.) With MAYMAYHEM sales (Google for more) in effect, I decided to nab one.

I don't regret it, but I'm not overly happy, either. The colors work much better in person, the remolding on each of the figures (minus the motorcycle which is a straight up repaint with no mold changes whatsoever) and the combined weapon really stand out to you. (At least, they did to me.)

My problems are that there are loose joints, legs don't want to stay connected in combined form, there are cracks in the plastic on some figures, seam separation on others, paint is kinda messy in spots. At $100.00, you definitely want better quality than what I received. To be fair, that might just be my set, I'm hoping that it's just my set, but if I'm wrong, that stinks. (Some have said their sets have been nearly perfect without a single flaw.)

If you get a good one, this set will impress you. The issues I mentioned on the construction end of things, not the design end. The design is fine, it's just the materials are shoddy on mine. I do recommend you give this set a shot, if you get a good one, you're in for a treat. This is a really nice set of figures when they're better made.

Oh, protip: The instructions are terrible. Don't even bother with them. Just so you know, Victorion's feet peg into Pyra Magna's (the fire truck bot) backpack. (The ladder.) Victorion's hands then plug into the bottom of the feet, forming a giant backpack. It looks neat, but it's never mentioned in the instructions, nor is it shown on the box. Kinda dumb to leave out a key feature of the set. =\

HASH(0xa40a3e28) out of 5 stars Hello Ladies! June 26 2016

I love this set, but one of its biggest strengths also is one of its flaws. While it does a good job giving new hands and feet so it didn't feel as clone-esque as the other combiner teams that share similar molds, the hands are absolutely tiny. The design is fine, but they could have been slightly larger to be be a little more balanced.

The plastic on the figures is standard, durable in most places but light. I also enjoy that this one is not a rainbow combiner, keeping to its own uniform color scheme across the board. I don't have anything against rainbows, just not all the know?

The weapons combine to form a neat sword, that has good detail and color. It's not the most balanced thing visually in her hands, which could have been remedied if the handle was longer and hands were (you guessed it) bigger.

All in all, however, I love the concept. I don't think there are enough girl bots in the Transformers Universe, and would actually like to one day see a show where it is 9/10 femme bots, with the lone male member of the squad.

All in all, it looks nice on my shelf, next to the others in my Combiner Wars collection.

HASH(0xa40657ec) out of 5 stars Excellent retoolings and unique accessories June 26 2016

Behold the might of redeco potential! Excellent retoolings and unique accessories. Only complaint is that they use the Dead-End car mold instead of the Streetwise/Prowl retool, and the Breakdown figure instead of the the Dragstrip/Mirage one.

Very nice for fans with the funds and the kids won't miss out on much.
HASH(0xa405a468) out of 5 stars Like a female Defensor, but better June 22 2016

Just feels like an overall improvement over it's Defensor counterparts. Highlights include actually different lower arm parts for the copter girls, the tab on the hood flip has been cut down (actually ex-actoed my own one originally), and Pyra Nova has heel struts, which let her stand on her own without relying on the ladder.
HASH(0xa57aca20) out of 5 stars Impressed with Victorion. July 2 2016

These toys were really well made. The new characters are a new take on the transformers. These girls are from the planet camius. The joints were tight and the paint was perfect. I was very impressed with them.
