Product Description

The contemporary romance The Love Series comes to a conclusion with Taken Love. Questions will be answered, relationships and lives hang in the balance, and everything you thought you knew about the Murphy family will be turned inside out in the matter of one tragic event.

Smith has worked for the Murphy family for years. A powerful and dangerous organized crime family that rules the Northeast. He spends his days and nights with only one goal, to get through to the next day, watching his boss's back. A past he avoids at all costs leaves him with a cold, lonely bed and no possibility of future relationships. Until she needs his help. His good conscious won't allow the young woman to pay for her mother's indiscretions. One rash decision has him doing the one thing he's never done in all the years he's worked for the Murphy family.

Cara O'Hara has lived a hard life. A life altered by her father's death when she was a young girl. Now she spends her days trying to care for her mother, who's lost to a world of drugs, alcohol, and sex. Cara has nothing. No friends, relationships, or any semblance of a normal life. But nothing prepares her for the threat that Cara's mother has now hindered her with. A debt her mother owes but can't repay. A debt that the collectors decide taking Cara as payment is perfectly acceptable. She unexpectedly finds herself fighting for her life, literally, as she's dragged from her home and shoved in to the trunk of a car. In that moment, her life is forever changed.

Can Smith help save Cara from the men who will inevitably end up placing her in an early grave? Will Cara's overwhelming presence distract Smith from the mundane life he's created for himself? What happens when both their worlds collide on an unexpected and unwelcome course? How does Smith handle his attraction to the beautiful woman whose life he's devoted to saving? How does Cara deal with a man who's closed off in every way? And what happens when the men who want Cara seek revenge?

Everyone will pay, including those important figures in the Murphy family.

**Warning: Taken Love consists of some "I knew it!", "OMG", and "I hate that man!" moments. This is a contemporary romance, which involves the mob and isn’t always pretty. There is some form of violence in this story (mild compared to other romance novels but still present). If you don't think that'll be to your liking, please do not read this novel.

Novels in The Love Series:

Unexpected Love (Book 2)
Dangerous Love (Book 3)
Taken Love (Book 4) - the final installment

You know how you get to the last book in a series and you just wonder how the author is going to end it? You hope they do the characters justice and not let you down. Well Casey Clipper has exceeded all of my expectations to the final instalment of The Love Series.
Taken Love is Smiths book, Smith has intrigued me since the beginning of he series. I always saw him as the strong silent type but knew there had to be more to him then just that. Boy was I right there. Smith meets Cara under extreme circumstances and comes toe to toe with someone who is good for him and teaches him a lot of things. Cara is a strong girl who needs to get her priorities straight so these two together was just a perfect match.

In Taken Love you get to see all your beloved characters again and story lines are concluded. I was extremely happy with the way the book ended and I can’t wait to see what Casey comes up with next.

HASH(0x9abb7180) out of 5 stars Conflicted July 29 2015

Where to begin, I'm kinda disappointed at the end of this series. I have read this entire series and love each and every one, so I was really anticipating smith's story, but it just kinda made me sad in the end. There was a hea, but I felt like it wasn't really because through out the series you see the closeness and the kinda dysfunctional family unit that wasn't there at the end, it kinda ended in conflict... Just my opinion.

HASH(0x9abb73cc) out of 5 stars You have to read this book!! July 21 2015

WOW!!!! Casey Clipper ended the Love Series with a bang! A BIG BANG!!! I don't know where to start. Leaving me speechless is not an easy task. Just ask anyone who knows me!

Okay, where to start....Taken Love is supposed to be Smith's story. And it is but it is also so much more. Turns out Smith does have a first name. Hunter. Kind of appropriate considering his line of work. Turns out he also is tired of his lonely life and wishes he could have a more normal, meaningful life. Enter Cara, a woman who has had a hard life. If not for bad luck, she'd have no luck at all. Smith is determined to protect her at all costs and in the process falls in love. Their romance is different than the others in the series. They have more obstacles to overcome-- including staying alive.

We meet a mob boss in this story who is worse than Derrick Murphy. He doesn't even play fair by mob standards. Derrick ticks me off big time in Taken Love. In several different ways. Suffice to say, I now loathe the man. Jack isn't much better. I won't go into details because I hate spoilers. All I will say is I think you will be surprised by some of the things revealed in this story. No, they aren't unbelievable, just shocking. And disappointing.

Like the rest of the series, Taken Love held my interest from the first word to the last period. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. At the same time, I didn't want the book to end because I knew the series was over. Casey promises we will see these characters again and for that I am glad. It won't be the same though because the story won't be theirs. We will also get short stories centering on the mannies. So, it isn't goodbye. Just so long. Hope to see you soon.

If you haven't figured it out by now, I highly recommend Taken Love. I definitely recommend the entire Love Series and everything else Casey Clipper has written. She is a must read on my list of authors. If you like a well-written romance that breaks out of the cookie cutter mold, check out Casey Clipper's books. You won't be sorry.

HASH(0x9abb760c) out of 5 stars ... read all of the books in this series and loved each one Jan. 10 2016

I read all of the books in this series and loved each one . . . until the final book!! Although the "family" did illegal things and were technically the bad guys, you overlooked it because of the "family unity" aspect. The way this book ended, to me, it just blew all of that out of the water. Happily ever after ending . . kinda-sorta! The finale ruined the entire series for me. I would not recommend reading any of the series, because if you become invested in the series . . . you will just be disappointed with the conclusion.

HASH(0x9abb7888) out of 5 stars Casey saved the best for last...Smith Aug. 18 2015
By Jackie's Book Reviews - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Taken is Book 4 in The Love Series. You can read these books as standalones but I do not recommend it. Why, because you would be ad missed if you didn't get to meet the other charachters of this series prior to Taken. Also the main characters are interactive in all the books so it is really worth it to read the series.

Smith has worked for the Murphy family as an enforcer for years alongside his best friend and sidekick Derk Forester ..see this is why you want to read the series. Smith was always the quite one, the one that just went in did his job and then walked away. Away to a lonely and solitude life until Cara O'Hara is forced into his life.

Cara O'Hara is in big trouble but not of her own doing. Cara's mother is the culprit and to offset the damage and screw ups that Mrs. O'Hara has done to the wrong people, Cara has now become payback for Mrs. O'Hara's mistakes.

Smith while trying to pay a visit to Mrs. O'Hara overhears some information that blows him away and now he has to come up with an idea and fast. That idea is to kidnap Cara to well protect her from the other bad guys that Mrs. O'Hara got involved with. Are you with me yet?

Never one to ever give a care about anyone other than the Murphy’s or Derk, Smith offers Cara his home and protection as a solice. Now Smith learns what it is to actually care about someone from the heart along with his soul. Cara in turn who has been dealt such a bad hand in her twenty eight years falls for Smith each day that she is with him. Together these two have to face whats in front of them or go their separate ways.

Smith who hides a secret cannot let himself fall for Cara at all costs for fear his past will come back and break him. His mission is to help her and then have her move on to a better life. Will it happen for Cara without Smith at her side..that's the big question.

I have to say that I enjoyed this series from book one and with each book I grew to love it more and more. Smith in the prior books was more of a darker character but with Taken, Casey has brought him out to the readers like you would never expect.

Yes, I am very sad that this is the end of the series but I look forward to reading more from Casey in the future.

HASH(0x9abb7b7c) out of 5 stars The Final Installment + 2 epilogues? July 17 2015
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I have to divide my review into two parts. The story which was excellent. There was one section that left my mouth hanging open. I had accepted that this was the final installment. Was I happy about that...no...but I had to respect that the story had to end. Casey did a wonderful job weaving her alpha male into the story. She is a master of this. We have Derrick who is alpha on steroids plus a host of alphas who orbit his universe. What was a little different with this story was that our "mob boss" did not accept our gal into the fold. There were reasons for this but usually whatever Courtney wants Courtney gets. The story had wonderful twists and turns and I loved just sitting back and following along where she was taking me.
OK now for my second part...epilogue part 1 and 2. Many doors seemed left open for me in Derrick's epilogue. I would have liked those questions answered a bit more. I understand from reading the list of books to come and her final acknowledgement section that a spin-off is planned and that we would have glimpses into the lives of our "family". I would love to see a Book 5 but unless it would be about Derrick again it would not make sense. Plus it's selfish on my part. I have to hope that we do get adequate glimpses into each of the families. Many might think that my review is negative. PLEASE BE VERY CLEAR ABOUT WHAT I AM ABOUT TO SAY. THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!! CASEY'S WORK DESERVES TO BE PURCHASED BY ANYONE WHO LOVED THIS SERIES. There! I just had to express the epilogue issue. I have adored Casey and have found her to be extremely gracious and kind to her readers. Please support this book. I want to openly encourage Casey to write enough about our peeps in her sequels to come. I understand that I don't have any idea what Casey has in store for us but it's really Casey's fault that she has written such wonderful books and she creates what I will lovingly refer to as "Clipper monsters". We Want More!!! Great Job Casey and thank you for the wonderful read! denise bailey
