“This is the definition of a good beach read.” (RT Book Reviews in a 4-star review)

Product Description

In the third unforgettable book by New York Times bestseller Emma Chase, Matthew Fisher—the best friend of Drew Evans from Tangled and Twisted—wants to settle down, but he’ll have to overcome the mistrust of the colorful and unique Dee Dee Warren.

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: girl meets player, they fall in love, player changes his ways.

It’s a good story. But it’s not our story. Ours is a lot more colorful.

When I met Dee, I knew right away that she was special. When she met me, she thought I was anything but special—I was exactly like every other guy who’d screwed her over and let her down. It took some time to convince her otherwise, but it turns out I can make a convincing argument when sex is at stake.

You might know where this story’s headed. But the best part isn't where we ended up.

It’s how we got there.

Tamed by Emma Chase (Audio Edition)
Narrated by Deacon Lee
Tangled Series #3

4 Stars.

I quite enjoyed this book. Matthew is a sweet stand up guy and I am glad I got to know him. I laughed out loud more than once while listening and this story left me with a warm happy feeling. I thought Dee and Matthew were a good match. He was patient and open with her, knowing she'd been hurt before. I liked that Dee was a strong, feisty honest woman, and I really liked that she decided to trust. I do not enjoy story that draw out a misunderstanding to great lengths.. which to be honest is why I skipped reading the second book of this series, (just from the reviews.. I am not looking for that kind of story right now) anyway missing that book didn't seem to affect this story at all which is good.

Deacon Lee at first after listening to Sebastian York, he seemed to read/speak quite quickly. However, I came to enjoy his voice and felt he portrayed Matthew very well. I would listen to more books read by him.

HASH(0x9c329bdc) out of 5 stars Lustful page turning sex, and a romantic leading man with a case of uproarious wit. July 15 2014
By T's Book - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
YES! Just yes! This is the Emma Chase I fell in love with. For those of you who were thrown off the bandwagon with Twisted, have no fear! Emma has done it again. Sure, I can throw all the overused, redundant terms at you: unputdownable, hilarious, sexy and fun, but how about these: skillful comedic timing, lustful page turning sex, and a romantic leading man with a case of uproarious wit.

Yeah, I know, I just can’t help it. I am absolutely in love with Mathew. Forget Drew. He is a child compared to this man. A man who is humbled by love and not afraid to lay it all out there. He really is book boyfriend perfection. I drove my husband nuts with my constant “Ya gotta hear this” and I gave the highlight option on my Kindle a real work out too. I mean come on….. I’ll leave the funny parts as a surprise, but here’s some sweet!

“To really love another person, you have to know them – their quirks, their dreams, what pisses them off and makes them smile, their strengths, weaknesses and flaws.”

“I want to be the reason for your smiles”

As much as I loved Tangled, it really pales in comparison to Tamed. Still sporting my perpetual smile 24 hours later! A perfect summer read, guys.

5 STARS!

HASH(0x9c329bf4) out of 5 stars 5 I-LOVE-MATTHEW STARS! July 15 2014
By Nancy's Romance Reads - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This was a phenomenal book! It was everything I expected from an Emma Chase book: it made laugh hard, tear up, swoon nonstop over Matthew, and the very sexy parts got me fanning myself like crazy. I loved it all!♥

In Tangled we met the irresistible Drew and his story with Kate but through their crazy tales a lot happened not only to them but also to their best friends Matthew and Delores aka Dee. By the end of Tangled it's a giving that these two end up together but how did it all happen? Well, that's what this book is about. It's now Matthew's turn to tell his story and he doesn't hesitate a bit to narrate the sweet and hilarious moments that got him together with Dee. He describes the story as:

"A story about a player, who meets a slightly crazy girl."

This book is told completely in Matthew's POV and at the beginning I was a little worried thinking he was going to sound a lot like Drew but that wasn't the case at all. Matthew has his own unique way to explain things, give great advice to us ladies, and sound like the seductive player he is. I have to confess, I might have found him more of a sweet-talker than Drew if you can believe that! Yes, Matthew just had a way with words so every time he said anything to Dee it was always heart-melting irresistible. That plus his persistence were bullet proof against Dee's refusals to be with him.

Now to the "slightly" crazy girl... Dee was funny, really funny I have to say. To me she was more than a little crazy, she really thought about things differently, a very out of the box kind of person. And she wasn't afraid of showing her individuality and her free spirit personality. She was also very smart, gorgeous, and passionate about those she cared about. All those attributes definitely grabbed Matthew's attention like nothing else had before and igniting his desire and pursuit for her.

Their story starts after a very heated one night stand where Matthew is left wanting more with Dee. She doesn't take him seriously at first because she knows how players are and she's fine with that but mostly because she doesn't want anything more. But it's Matthew's charms and persistence that persevere here so Dee is left not being able to resist him. However, Dee has some insecurities and bad past experiences that keep getting in the way between them so Matthew is forced to keep chasing after her harder and harder in order to keep her and make her see that what they have could be more than amazing.

"Women liked to be chased, want to be shown that they're desired, needed-valued. And guys like me revel in the chasing-but only if chatting is a possibility. I want Delores to admit-to acknowledge-that she's caught."

I LOVED Matthew!! I loved how he never gives up his chase for Dee, how utterly sweet and funny he is with her at all times, and how beautifully he ends up falling in love with her. He was just so captivating that the times Dee played too hard to get I really wanted to smack some sense into her. Thankfully, there wasn't any need of that since Matthew's magic really does all the necessary work and it's done majestically.♥

Really just another amazing book by Emma Chase! If you're fan of this series you have to read this book. It gives you a refresher of the Tangled times and then it goes around in circle to bring you back to the times of Holy Frigging Matrimony to understand that short story even better. So you get to know a lot of details of the whole story that were unknown before. I still recommend reading the books in this series in order for a better experience. ;)

HASH(0xa329b830) out of 5 stars Love this Couple! July 15 2014
By Sandra Shipman - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I have read all the books in this series and it's one of my favorites! I couldn't wait to read Tamed, Matthew and Dee's story needed to be told and it is amazing. I am a fan of the Male POV, not all authors can pull it off but I know that Emma could since Tangled was awesome!
We first meet Matthew and Dee in Tangled then again in Holy Frigging Matrimony and Twisted. If you read the previous books you know the ending but this is the beginning of their love story.....

Matthew is a player. He might not be like the type that will not have another round with a woman that he meets but it doesn't happen often. He might be a player but he is not a liar, he tells them it will never be anymore than just some fun. He has been burned in the past and does not want a repeat, it's just not worth the risk. When he happens to meet his co-worker's best friend at lunch he is intrigued. She is not only hot but there was something different about this one and when he finds out she is out for fun too he just has to see her again...

Dee Warren has a very hard shell. She isn't looking for the fairytale, she is looking to have some fun and does not want to get attached. She has been through hard times in the past and she doesn't trust easily so instead she stays away so she doesn't get in to deep. Most men would love and she figured Matthew would be one of them until she actually hears from him after they spend one night together.

Matthew has to work hard to break down some of Dee's walls. He knows if he wants to have Dee in his life, he will have to be patient. Dee is a bad ass chemist with an amazedly awesome wardrobe. I love her attitude and that she is her own woman. And Matthew has the best sense of humor and really a sweet. They just connect and it's just so fun. They are seriously hot in the bedroom, and everywhere else, the chemistry is there for sure with these two. That is not all that is needed to keep a relationship to grow. How does Matthew get her to crack?

It was also fun that this is at the same time Drew and Kate were figuring out their relationship, it all ties together perfectly. I can't wait to read more about this couple is Tied. I know it's about Drew and Kate but they will be there right along with them.

Quotes:

She's wild and beautiful - like an undomesticated thoroughbred that runs best without a saddle.

"God, you're f*cking hot," She signs. Already using the new nickname, and I haven't even made her come yet. I'm good.

"You don't know the power of the Dark Side."

Tamed, the third book in the Tangled series focuses on the relationship between Matthew and Delores (Dee Dee). In the grand scheme of things, I think readers should read this one before reading Holy Frigging Matrimony, but c’est la vie!

Matthew is the best friend of Drew, whom of course we met in the first book, Tangled. He is also an investment banker and goes through women a lot like Drew; he’s a “hit and quit it” kind of guy. But when Kate, Drew’s girlfriend, introduces Dee Dee to their group of friends, Matthew instantly becomes smitten with the flamboyant yet incredibly intelligent woman.

Dee Dee is a lot like Matthew; A LOT like Matthew. She also is a one-night stand kind of girl, rarely bedding the same man twice. She has a style all her own, often looking like a stripper instead of a chemist that contracts with NASA. She is best friends with Kate and is Billy’s (Kate’s ex-boyfriend), cousin. She has major trust issues and will not allow herself to get close to any man.

When Matthew and Dee Dee go out on a date and immediately hook up, Matthew notices right away that Dee Dee is a lot different than other women. She is a straight shooter, easy to talk to, and incredibly smart. The two quickly realize that they have feelings for each other, but Dee Dee is still not ready to let anyone get close as she is convinced that Matthew is going to hurt her. Once the two decide to try out a relationship, she runs every time they hit a bump in the road. How many times can Matthew run after her, and what can he do to finally convince her that he’s in it for the long haul?

Tamed is written in Matthew’s point of view so it reads a lot like the first book, which was written in Drew’s point of view. So if you didn’t like Tangled, this book might not be for you. Matthew is a bit of a misogynistic pig, much like his best friend, but over the course of the book we begin to see him change, and realize that there is a lot more to life than disposable relationships.

While we got to know the characters of Matthew and Dee Dee in the previous two books, Tamed really delves into how and what happened in their lives to influence how they both see relationships. Because the two main characters are so close to Kate and Drew, we’re also given a glimpse into their pasts as well, and we really get an idea of the depth of the relationships between the different groups in this intermingled relationship. The amount of shared history they have makes for some hilarious comedic relief, especially in the case of Drew’s niece, Mackenzie.

My only issue really is that Dee Dee, for as outspoken and confident as she came off, began to feel like she didn’t really have much of a backbone after a while. It grew frustrating that she was so quick to jump to conclusions of what Matthew had been up to when he hadn’t done anything wrong. I understand that she has trust issues, but it seemed that the littlest thing set her off and it just wasn’t congruent with the rest of the way she lived her life.

I really enjoyed Tamed. It is a fast, easy, funny read and like the rest of Ms. Chase’s work, is well written. If you were not a fan of Drew’s misogynistic tone in the first book, this one might rub you the wrong way as well, but I personally find it funny that both Drew and Matthew think they have women figured out while in a lot of cases, they couldn’t be further from the truth. Tamed is a solid 4 ½ stars and I’m looking forward to the next installment of the series, Tied, which will be released in the fall.

HASH(0x9a5fc57c) out of 5 stars FIVE UNTAMED STARS! July 15 2014
By KFForever - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Reviewed by Sharon Thérèse Nuttall for Kindle Friends Forever

Even though Tamed is the third book in Tangled series, there is absolutely no reason why it couldn't be considered as a standalone. The author has taken a lot of trouble to help the reader pick up the thread of events which is a feat in itself. I, for one, wasn't the slightest bit confused as this is well-explained from the first chapter onwards. I was also delighted by her style of writing— incredibly refreshing and it will without a doubt, have you laughing out loud! It certainly did me.

It didn't take me long to realise that it was going to be a hard job to review without letting on either, so I've decided to skim the storyline which is fast moving in this unputdownable book, and concentrated more on how this romantic love story-cum comedy with a difference was written and told in first person from Matthew’s POV.

Matthew Fisher and his buddies, Drew and Alexandra Evans, and Steven Reinhart are lifelong friends. Their lives are entwined in such a way that everything they do directly or indirectly, has a repercussion of sorts on the others. Theirs is a relationship for better or worse regardless, and totally endearing for the reader. When Matthew, this abso-frinkin’-lutely gorgeous player is introduced to Dolores (Dee Warren) by Kate Brooks, his colleague in the family business and in a relationship with whom you may ask? Sorry! Not going to spill the beans; hotter than hot sparks fly between two protagonists that appear to be on the same planet! Are they? Well, all the right signals and innuendos are there for these two independent professionals but Dee has trust issues with a capital T. So the big question is; will they do their damnedest to make it work because their friends don’t seem to think so. Not only is the banter hilariously absorbing, but true colours will be shown, soft sides will be revealed, comprehension will be put to the test, and as always in this series, protectiveness will reign.

Apart from Matthew being the Alpha male you’d wish to bump into in the middle of a dark night, and how on earth the author has been able to describe to perfection the way both Drew and Matthew think, react and sum up the female peculiarities from their point of view is beyond sublime! It doesn't offend simply because a few truths aren't too far away from home. In this story, there isn't just one man that will enthral you, oh no, there’s two or maybe even three! The author has put herself in the shoes of her male characters so naturally that it’s uncanny! The sex scenes are vividly described and made me wish—oh, definitely wish…

I must confess that I had a few personal issues with the star rating of this extremely well-written book? Why? Well, it certainly wasn't because of the faultless grammar, exceptional vocabulary or the marvellous dialogue. It was simply because I couldn't fathom out some of the American personalities and quotes she’d mentioned and had to Google them! Please excuse this English lass’s ignorance! But after reflecting on this, I realised that English authors and even reviewers when comparing, do exactly the same thing. I'm absolutely sure that our lingo, sayings and personalities also confuse the American reader.

I just loved this book and I am so looking forward to reading the fourth book in this series which is due to be published in October. Bravo Ms Chase! You certainly made me laugh, cry and swear out loud in one session!!!
