When General Stanley McChrystal took command of the Joint Special Operations Task Force in 2004, he quickly realized that conventional military tactics were failing. But to defeat Al Qaeda in Iraq, his Task Force would have to acquire the enemy’s speed and flexibility. The Task Force became a “team of teams”—faster, flatter, more flex­ible—and beat back Al Qaeda.

Permission to succeed. General McChrystal and co-authors provide many examples from the literature and their own experiences to illustrate why stove-pipes don't work, and communication across teams does. If you are spending all your time defending your turf against the department down the hall, who is going to accomplish the mission? The book is written in an easy-to-read style and the price is appropriate.

Enlightening and complex at the same time. The principles the book was built on speak to many of the business challenges I faced. There were sections that went in-depth to the specific actions in Iraq that seems to stray away from the points but they do tie in to the overall message. If you are working with a team, on many little teams or across multiple locations there are nuggets for everyone in this book. Sure to become a staple in many libraries.

Wasnt bad, not to indepth about a topic that would take thousands of pages to sum up. The author has summed up an interesting philosophy about teamwork being a living organism. Which imo most humans are aware of this already.
