About the Author

Author of romance novels such as Red Card and Privileged, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she prefers the stories she dreams up, and the yoga pant dress code, much better. When she isn't writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She lives in the suburbs of New Jersey with her husband, daughter and dog. 5.0 out of 5 stars More than just a high school romance, it’s a story about learning to be yourself and so much more!
By CPet on September 9, 2018
I don’t normally read high school romance because, well, I’m old and some of the steamier scenes can be uncomfortable. However, I was very intrigued with this storyline and I’m such a big Carrie Aarons fan, I decided to take a chance, and I’m so glad I did. This is the kind of high school drama you’ll want to get into!

Harper is sweet, strong and knows what she wants for her future. For now, she plans to fly under the radar at her new school during senior year, but ends up attracting the attention of the most popular jock in school, star quarterback, Cain. Cain is a self-centered jerk, the superstar quarterback who screws ‘em and dumps ‘em and he’s decided that Harper is going to be his “tenth girl”. She was just supposed to be a conquest, but he ends up showing her his hidden intelligence, vulnerability and sweet side.

You know when things start to go well for the main characters and you begin to feel uneasy because you’re afraid something bad is coming? Yeah, that! I couldn’t read fast enough to find out what was going to happen.

This might be high school with stupid jocks and mean girls, but it’s also a story about learning to be yourself, discovering what’s important, owning up to your mistakes, and finding the person who helps you realize your dreams. Loved it!
