HASH(0x9bd01f18) out of 5 stars An Epic Score Dec 25 2008
By S. Osati - Published on Amazon.com

If you know Bear McCreary or are a fan of Battlestar Galactica, I would stop reading what I have to say or anybody else has to say and recommend picking up this album asap.

If you are not familiar with BSG, what Bear McCreary is able to bring is what I would call an epic score, but not epic like LotR or Troy with large horns and brass. Instead, its a very powerful, subtle and emotional music that plays that can be enjoyed in any mood. The themes give you perfect immagination of the character and what they are feeling and what it turns out is the opposite of most soundtracks for shows that are meant to be just be filler music. Instead, Bear McCreary is able to turn the music into a character, helping lift the emotions and feelings of the character and push the story. Just the new terminator cue gives me chills or Sarah theme with the ballad of strings.

If your into a fantastic listen, or looking for music with meaning, this is a must buy.

HASH(0x9bc4c258) out of 5 stars I love this soundtrack!! Dec 24 2008
By Blanca Hernandez - Published on Amazon.com

This soundtrack is just great. I was excited for this to come out. Bear is a great composer, I just love the themes he creates for each character. The songs feel like the characters. My favorite theme is Derek Reese's theme. I like them all though. I also really enjoy listening to Samson and Delilah. This is one of my favorite cd's now, so Good work bear. I just hope fox doesn't even think about canceling this show, it's epic.

HASH(0x9bc4bf0c) out of 5 stars Good Strong Score Dec 24 2008
By Andrew N. Bosch - Published on Amazon.com

The score for the Sarah Connor Chronicles is one of my favorite. It really seems to have a strong place in the Terminator movie scores. Really the only thing that could make it better is for it to have more songs, but I guess you can't fit much more on it. Just can't wait till volume 2 comes out. I think the main theme that seems to be throughout the music is very moving and strong, Really fits the epic /terminator mood. Just wish the theme was a bit longer. But all in all, if you are a fan of the Terminator series, this is a must have.

HASH(0x9cae2428) out of 5 stars Brilliant ...again Dec 31 2008
By Words&Music - Published on Amazon.com

Another kickass, knock-yr.-sox-off score from Bear McCreary. Again, we have both depth and breadth to savor and enjoy. Depth and breadth in terms of emotional and musical experience: the haunting, and the gut-grinding. This score took a good drama and made of it art. The arrangement of Samson and Delilah gave a kind of Biblical/Revelations overtone to the whole--not just the album but the series. Haunting. The song, "Ain't we Famous," otherwise lost in the background of a scene here shines forth in all its rock-on exuberance.
TSCC is a great series gifted with the talents of many great musicians and the guiding work and eye and heart of the composer who never fails to astound and reward. Bravo, Bear!

HASH(0x9bfb9d2c) out of 5 stars Excellent Dec 27 2008

I am not particularly good with music-esque terminology but I am a collector of Movie/TV/Video Game scores and this ranks up as one of the finest in recent history. Each track tells a story and like Bear's BSG collection, you can put yourself in the shoes of the characters as each track plays. Sometimes it is menacing (akin to T2), others it is melodic and smooth. Highlights for me are the cover of "Samson and Delilah", "Sarah Connor's Theme" and "Prisoners of War" though I could just put this entire album on and listen to it in the background or doze off. Very well recommended!
