BAIIPlus Financial Calculator - Alphanumeric - 10-Character Display

From Amazon.ca

We're definitely taking this along with us the next time we shop for a house. Though it takes a little effort to master the collection of financial worksheets available on the Texas Instruments BA II Plus, you'll be glad you invested the time and money in this fine financial calculator.

The BA II Plus operates in standard calculator and worksheet modes. The standard mode lets you perform common math as well as operations involving the time value of money--that is, applications such as mortgages or annuities in which payments are equal and evenly spaced. You can also perform trigonometric functions in standard mode.

The more hard-core worksheet mode includes tables for amortization, bond, depreciation, and compound interest. If you're not familiar with such calculations, the very helpful user's manual will guide you through the process. All previous worksheet values are stored in memory, so you don't have to retype all the bond maturity or cash flow analysis figures.

The average user who wants to calculate a basic loan payment will be more comfortable working in the standard calculator mode. We were using the BA II Plus tools for calculating basic interest and payment periods within minutes. Still, it's good to know that the more advanced features are available for those who require heavy-duty financial computing.

Finance students and average users alike will find much to like in the Texas Instruments BA II Plus. --John Frederick Moore

Came quickly. Exactly what I need to take my exams for my CFP course. I got an app that was this exact calculator along with an ebook about time value of money for this calculator so I knew how to use it already.
I needed an actual calculator for the exam because you're not allowed to have mobile devices with you. But even if I didn't need it for my exams I think it would be worth it.
Very simple design for financial calculator. However as others have pointed out, be careful you don't press buttons too quickly or it won't recognize them. It's also one of the cheaper ones I could find. Good value!

Awesome Calculator and some real fast shipping. This calculator does not come with very limited information about the functions you can use but you can always Google it to find a PDF file of the operation manual. Currently, CPA Canada uses the same model of calculator and provide you the calculator during the exam.

Buttons are stiffer and firmer than my SHARP EL-738F, which makes it less likely to do press the keys and not have numbers register on my calculator. For $40ish it's affordably priced.

I find the case to be really cheap, because it's a clip on case rather than a slide in/out case like most calculators.

Go with it if you are a business student, it works good and actually it is the only option if you study in my college.
It works great if you know how to use it and I'm pretty happy I have a good instructor to teach me how to use it. Love it.

I love the keyboard, unlike other posters here I tend to hit the keys hard and I get number duplication on regular calculators. This calculator prevents that as you have to hit the keys firmly as there is tiny resistance to the keys to prevent accidental entries. I find the operation easy. Using it for accounting and time-value-of money operations. This is my first financial calculator. I like plastic protection cover that covers the keys. This is my second Texas Instruments calculator, I have had my other one since 1990 that still works wonderful.

I passed CFA Level 1 with this calculator in December 2009. That was the only reason I bought it. It did it's job and so I am thoroughly pleased with it, however, the sensitivity and feel of the buttons could be improved. I often find myself double checking my inputs because the calculator feels like it has a lag between quick successive button inputs. For example, if I wanted to input 10,000,000 then I have to be a little more careful with the zeroes then I would on most other calculators, because the TI BA-II is prone to not accepting the inputs as fast as I can input them (which is not at any extraordinary speed anyway).

The BAII Plus is great - it has a very user-friendly interface that is both easily learned but can also handle very complicated calculations if that's what you need. I bought it because it was recommended for my finance course, but after using it I would recommend it to anyone who needs to make financial calculations.

-Has the keys and functionality as listed.
-Keys are a little sticky.
-Sometimes when you press down on a key, the number won't be entered. Double checking to see if the number is entered is a must with this calculator.
