Product Description

Fall in love with the boy next door in this sweet romance by USA Today Bestselling Author, Jillian Dodd.

You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits.

There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it’s windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He’s the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for.

Equally crush-worthy is Phillip. Adorable, sweet Phillip, who I have known since birth.  Phillip has dark hair, a perfect smile, brown eyes, and the sexiest voice I have ever heard. He’s the boy I talk to every night before I go to sleep. The boy who rescues me, the boy who can read my mind, the boy who is always there for me, the boy who tries to keep me out of trouble, the boy who irritatingly keeps getting hotter, and whose strong arms always seem to find their way around me.  And when he gives me that grin, I can never say no.

One boy will give me my very first kiss.
One boy will teach me to make out.
One boy will take me to prom.
And, finally, one boy will ask me to marry him.
They will both be my best friends.
But only one of them will be the boy I fall in love with.
Only one of them is That Boy.

*This is a story about friendships that span from grade school through college, and there is no love triangle.

This is the story of a girl called JJ and her friendship with her two best friends Phillip and Danny. The whole story is written from JJ's POV. Through junior and high school and on to college.
There are some very funny laugh out loud moments in this, as well as some really sad ones. The story moves forward detailing JJ's experiences growing up, with Phillip and Danny. From the outset I guessed that she would probably end up with one of the two guys. But which one was never quite made known till quite a way into the story. And when it was I was surprised but not disappointed.

Now what I didn't like about this story was JJ, she was self centred, flakey and quite frankly her obsession with really hot cute boys with muscles became a bore. It is JJ's voice that is telling the reader the story, and while she was younger even in high school it was okay, but she never matured at all even when she was in her twenties at college. The really sad part of the story which directly affected her, lasted for about a couple of minutes. Then it was straight back to cute hot boys with muscles.

She had make-out sessions on a fairly regular basis with one of the two boys, who are her best friends. I can only assume while he was dating other girls, and she was seeing someone as well. This lasted even while they were at college, then suddenly he's getting engaged to some random girl who has never been mentioned before and appears out of nowhere, and is supposedly JJ's best girlfriend! The other best guy friend from her childhood is the one she ends up with. But there was zero chemistry between them, and quite honestly it was not convincing. So what started out as a cute read, went downhill the further I read. I do realise that while growing up girls can profess to be in love, and the next day be in love with someone else. But here it felt overdone. If I had to sum this book up my opinion would be that it's a bit chaotic and messy
