Loved the story - it included the traditions on Australia and was very unique because they do not make two books alike

Have you ever had to skip school and take a terrifying adventure? Well, that's what the Thea sisters had to do. My favorite character was Colette because she loves pink and I love pink, too. I liked the book because it had a lot of exciting experiences and exiting experience are so much fun. Even the beginning of the story was interesting. If you love adventure, danger, and mystery, you will love this book.

HASH(0xa38ea648) out of 5 stars Kindle version is just not readable in higher resolution device, not even on paperwhite April 2 2014

This review is for the kindle version. It is not readable as the text is inside an image that just cannot be scaled to larger size. It is way too tiny in a Kindle Fire HDX or paper white with higher resolution.

I gave this book to a 6-year-old first grader. This is the third of the Thea Stilton series and the little girl I gave these books to got so hooked on them, she taught herself to read within a few weeks. Each book not only contains an exciting story line with complicated characters that behave in predictable ways, but it also contains sidebars with wonderful information about the geography, culture, arts and sciences of the area where the story is taking place. The Mountain of Fire is set in Australia and so the reader learns about the geography and indigenous people of Australia, their tools, scientific tidbits, etc. The little girl who is reading this series reads the books over and over again, and everyone, including the adults, learns something. Parents can also go to YouTube or other internet sites while reading the sidebars to get video or images of what's being talked about. For example, this book introduces the boomerang, and YouTube has wonderful videos of how a boomerang works. Love these books!!!
