I have read several of her books and this one was not a disappointment. No spoiler alerts here but know that if you like romance, humour and suspense then you will love this book as much as I did. Actually I am keeping it as think that I would enjoy re-reading at a later date. Jeremy and Mira are quite the pair. I love his Hyde and her snit fits as he calls them. So often your read a book and know exactly where it is going but that won't be the case with this one. Great plot which was different than the usual. I read about a book a day and this was a "don't put it down" book. I'm sure that you won't want to miss it.

Another good man and woman have their HEA! While not my favorite story from this author, it was still good. We don’t really meet Jeremy Lark much in previous books but sure get to know him in this story. He is every woman’s dream...strong, handsome, passionate.
More great characters.

Second-chance romance? Yes, please! THRIVE was angsty, action-packed, and super sexy. Plus, all those Guardian Protector men seem to be of the smokin' hot variety-Bonus!
Seeing as this is book two and I didn’t read the first book in the series, I can verify that Thrive can be read as a standalone without confusion or feeling as though you’re missing something important.
The story was engaging and even with only a few scenes from the past, I could tell how much Jeremy and Mira meant to one another… even though they were too blind and immature to see it themselves at the time. They knew the love they felt, but their blinders were preventing them from seeing that their feelings were 100% reciprocated. This realization would have changed the course of their lives and saved them a whole lot of drama, heartache, anger and misery...
But what would be the fun in that?!
Que the angst, sexual tension, passion, action, and intensity.
I was fully invested in their romance as they reconnected and rekindled the flames. I swooned at Jeremy’s protectiveness and laughed occasionally at Mira’s little fits. There were times that they did frustrate me, and I wanted to give them both a good smack, but I still loved them.
Thrive was fast-paced and gripped me from the start. I do feel that things were a bit rushed and disjointed towards the end, but it was still an enjoyable read overall. It’s the first book I have read by Aly Martinez and it will not be my last. I look forward to checking out book one, as well as reading any book that may come next in the series.

A beautiful second chance love story that had me hooked right from the start until the last page. Wonderful writing!
The story has Mira and Jeremy. It begins 17yrs. in the past, their relationship is complicated, Mira is Jeremy’s best friend’s girl. He wishes she was his, but stolen nights together are all he has and then they become just a memory.
Fast forward, and Mira is in trouble, she needs help and the only person she can think of to ask is Jeremy. But they didn’t part well, how will he react? Will he help?
Their meeting is totally different from expected, there’s a lot of anger and hurt feelings. We meet a lot of interesting secondary characters, and some of dialogue was quite amusing. I have to read the first book from this series and,
This is definitely not a story you want to miss, and I highly recommend it!

This was one intense and exciting second chance romance! Mira broke Jeremy's heart seventeen years ago, but now she's in trouble and needs his help. Jeremy "Lark" works for Guardian Protection Agency, so protecting people is his job, but he wants nothing to do with the woman who ripped his heart out. However, he can't forget her pleas over the phone and heads out on his white horse! A tangled web of corruption starts to unfold, which had me devouring every word, flipping each page, anxiously hoping for the best but fearing the worst. Mira and Lark not only embark on a second chance at love, they navigate a lot of craziness to get their HEA!

An absolute diamond of a story. The guardian series is fantastically delightful experience. Great to get extremely sneak peaks of Jude and Rhion from the first book, which was great and this one goes one step further. Mira, loves Jeremy Lark, but marries his long time fiend, Kurt. He being an absolute bastard. Not only does he ruin his best buddies life in the forces by falsely planting evidence, he also promise to cherish, love, remain faithful and look after Mira. All absolute rubbish. The story has lots of action, loads of sizzling scenes, intrigue, gangster related history and wonderful humour, and sarcasm between Mira and Lark. I will not ruin it for future readers, but would advise anyone that loves this sort of story detail to embarm in its words and thoroughly enjoy. If you have never read any of this great author’s novels I ask a question? Why? You will not be disappointed. Well worth 5 stars.

What an emotional roller coaster Jeremy and Mira’s story was. It was full of emotion, suspense, heartbreak, funny, and adding in romance with an absolutely amazing epilogue.
What happens when you find yourself in deep trouble with some really bad men who are involved in some bad stuff you’re ex husband is in. You call your ex husbands, ex bestfriend Jeremy Lark who works at the guardian protection agency. But Jeremy was the man you had fallen in love with when you were younger and decided to choose the ex husband over him. But you knew you should have picked the other.
Let’s just say when Mira asks for help, it’s not a happy reunion. Let’s just say Jeremy is angry.
There was lots of drama, lies will be unfolded, truths will be revealed, pasts are exposed, love reblossoms. This book was a ringer of emotions, there were parts where I felt like the author sucker punched me in the gut. It was like I could feel the pain with these characters.
You can see the love that these two had , and what they still have for one other. Can that love be salvaged again?
The intimate moments they shared were amazingly hot. They left me all bothered. Jeremy definitely knows what he is doing. I loved his rough, slow , love making style. Hunny come on over to my place. Absolutely fell in love with this man. Even though my heart fell out of my chest a couple of times with so much pain for this man but it got put back together again.
This has become my favourite book yet in this series. Let me just say I can’t wait for Johnson book now.

Complex story, masterfully woven into a powerful story of hope and healing.

The evocative and beautiful story in Thrive is a perfect example of why I return to Aly Martinez’s writing time and again. She is adept at pulling her readers in from the first moment and holding them captive to her words until the end. Mira and Jeremy’s story was full of heartbreak and healing. I enjoyed every second I spent with them in this book.
Thrive is the second book of Aly Martinez’s Guardian Protection series. It also has tie-ins to her Wrecked & Ruined series and Retrieval Duet. However, it can be read as a complete standalone, as each book focuses on different couples. The book is told in dual first-person perspective, by Mira and Jeremy. There are a few flashback scenes that add incredible heartache to their story.
I’m a sucker for second-chance romances and Thrive definitely fit that trope. Their original relationship may have been anything but typical, but it was one of the sweetest, most caring relationships I’ve read in a while. Their chemistry was amazing, but it was the soul-deep connection they shared that won me over in this book. I’m ecstatic we didn’t have to watch them suffer through their self-induced 17-year separation while reading, I don’t think I could have dealt with the pain of them knowing they were each missing the other half of their soul.
While the suspense and terror were the catalysts for Mira and Jeremy’s reconnection, I’m glad it was their love story that took center stage. Aly Martinez used the threat against Mira to push the characters to fully explore the events of the past and focus on what they wanted for their future. I loved how the very person who most wanted to keep Mira and Jeremy apart was so essential to pushing them back into one another’s lives. I was also impressed with how deeply she made me care for another potential couple in only a few words; I’m not sure my heart didn’t ache more for them than it did for Mira and Jeremy; the pain they’d experienced was just that poignant.
My only wish for this book is that the ending been less rushed. There were so many things I would have loved to have seen played out on page, in real time that either were only quickly recapped in the midst of another scene or never even touched on. I don’t think those omissions took away from the story, but I do think they would have added closure and emotion to the beginning of Mira and Jeremy’s forever.
Ms. Martinez wrote a complex story with myriad moving parts and wove each piece together in masterfully. Each of her stories is full of hope and healing. Her characters each have the strength to stand on their own but choose to live a fuller life with the people they love. I’m continually impressed with how unique each story is while still including the same primary themes. Her writing is robust, yet delicate and draws me in from the first page; holding me captive to her words until the final sentence.

One helluva second chance romance that has all the feels!
Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2018Verified Purchase
There is no question that Thrive is some of Aly Martinez's best work to date. She has become extremely proficient in her writing since her debut back in 2014 and with each new book, it's like she hits yet another new level of perfection.
This latest in the Guardian Protection series is second-chance romance at it's very finest. Mira York and Jeremy Lark had love 17 years ago but they were too young and full of deceit to fully grasp it. And when Mira chose Kurt Benton over Jeremy, she set a course for a life she never could have imagined. Going from bad to worse as she's finally putting her life back together, the unthinkable happens and she's desperate for help. A kind of help only a man like Jeremy can handle and makes a phone call that sets her life both back on track and dangerously close to derailing!
Oh these two. Talk about oil and water. Even though Mira is at the end of her rope, her resilience and feisty attitude never takes a back seat, especially when it comes to Jeremy. From the moment these two lay eyes on each other, it's anyone's guess whether they will rip each other apart or fall back madly in love. And every single minute spent with them could be the very best or the very worst. They managed to bring that out in each other with ease. Or so it seemed.
I truly adored the fact that beneath all the turmoil there is a love that is as unique as Mira and Jeremy are. The yelling, the tears, the long-held resentment, all of it is there as they rehash the past and try hard to figure out their present. Or what could be their future. The story the author has crafted is intensely multi-layered with not only the two of them dealing with their feelings but tackling a mystery of sorts that keeps pointing back to Kurt and his dirty dealings over the years.
The men of Guardian are present and accounted for and holy moly, are they as delicious as ever! With my man Leo James at the helm, there is an intricate plan in place that extends to Aiden, forever now known as Sexy Guy, Jude, Braydon, Caleb and even sweet Rhion. Her blossoming friendship with Mira was a nice touch and something I'd love to see more of in the future. They have such a sense of family that in between the playful jabs they throw at one another, there is true affection and loyalty. They prove it time and again that no one messes with their brothers. Or the women they love.
3 days is all it takes for Mira and Jeremy to realize they truly were meant to be. The sometimes very intense journey they had to take to get there was worth every lost moment and every pang of regret. But there is such joy that radiates from both of them that makes it all worth it.
Thrive will definitely be at the top of my best of list for 2018, no question about it. A wonderful read I won't soon forget, reading 2x so far won't nearly be enough.
