4.0 out of 5 stars A great romance! March 27 2017

This was a really great book! I enjoyed it a lot. If you love a fantasy adventure story where a girl discovers she is different and then goes on an adventure and finds love, then you'll probably like this one. If your locale of choice is the Amazon, and you are all about feel good messages that the earth/nature is beautiful and should be saved from humans/evil, then you'll LOVE this one.

The story starts out with some mystery withthe heroine Brielle going through major traumaand being told to go to the Amazon to discover her birthright and destiny. From there, there's constant danger from people trying to capture and use her because of her special traits. She's a vegetarian who visited the Amazon regularly, and always felt more at home there than anywhere else. She has a pure heart and wants to help heal others. Throughout the story you're pushing for her, and it's an engaging story. I was sucked in and didn't want to stop.

The name of the novel comes from Brielle's mate, an immortal named Tiago. He's pretty much the embodiment of wild manliness, living alone in the jungle while protecting it from harm. He comes upon Brielle and helps her once. After that, they have an unbreakable connection. Now, I fully admit to loving cheesy romance stuff, and there were definitely moments where I kind of shook my head. Tiago is overpowered and just amazing at everything. I fully agree that he has skills (the ants), but there really was nothing that could stop him. The great climax that I thought would end the action really wasn't because of it. It was satisfying, but things got a little ridiculous for me. The actual ending of the book was really satisfying, to see the instalove come to fruition after Brielle survived so much. Their connection was instant, partly because they were meant to be mates. But Tiago really is a kjnd, protective, good man. And Brielle is just as deserving. And they have their moment together, and it's sensual and beautiful.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book. It was well-written, and had great formatting and editing. The story flowed well and moved quickly. The only thing that I saw as a possible issue for others (I'm ok with it) was that there was an attempted rape. If that is not your thing, then don't read this book. Brielle gets put through a lot, but Tiago is always there, ready to save and heal her. If you don't mind that, then you should grab this book. It's a fast-paced read well worth the time, and I recommend it.

I received a free ARC of this story from Quill and Ink Reviews, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Battle Between Good & Evil March 20 2017

Four minutes into the first chapter I'm hooked. Conflict, Death, Secrets! Great complex characters!
Hints of the beginning of a great story line!
My heart is racing!
This is a story of an immortal being and the woman who will become his mate and become immortal herself. It deals with archetypal themes and ideals placed within the geography of the Amazon Rain Forest.
What if there are immortal beings who protect the land that keeps us all alive through the lushness of greenery that provides the very air we breathe?

What if humans who bend toward evil become more and more evil by allowing their souls to be so darkened that they can not recognize right from wrong?

The most evil man in this book, "Doc", can't even recognize the beauty and purity of his niece, Brielle who has been destined to become the mate of the immortal, Tiago. He lusts after her and we recognize how awful he is when he says to his henchman, "Bring my little piece of fluff. I have need of consolation." He sees nothing of the larger picture, only what he wants, no matter how wrong it is.
Tiago and Brielle only see what the jungle needs to stay pure and clean. Within those opposites is the battle within good and evil.
The characters of this book are drawn in large swooping shapes of good, evil, pettiness, greed and purity. They are set against the character of the animals of the jungle who live only by the law of the jungle.
It is a parable written within an exciting paranormal love story that grips the reader and makes them not want to stop until the very end.
4.0 out of 5 stars An original and enthralling plot..... March 14 2017

This is a dark, paranormal, thriller.....set in the impenetrable and savage wilderness of the Amazon jungle; eloquently described by the author; Tiago an immortal and Brielle a strong and gifted woman face an evil fanatic who threatens to use genetically targeted bacteria to gain world dominance....

This was a great read......all the characters whether good or bad, magical or immortal were credible and the development of the story through the eyes of Tiago and Brielle provided a satisfactory insight into their knowledge of passing events and their emotions.....

This was not the first book I have read by this author and I have said before that I love her voice...her skilled use of language created easy to visualise flora and fauna and fully developed characters.... I do have to say, however, that on this occasion there were moments when I felt the complexity of the prose detracted from, rather than enhanced the flow and rhythm of the story.....

that said this is an original and enthralling plot with plenty of unexpected twists and turns which held my attention throughout..I am looking forward to reading more in this imaginative series.

.......I received a copy of this book through the Quill and Ink Tour Review Team in exchange for a fair and honest review.
4.0 out of 5 stars Addictive Story. March 18 2017

I feel in love with Reily Garrett through her Carnal series. Having read three of the four books (note to self: really need to complete the set), I knew I needed more. I was fortunate enough to beta read the first book and prequel story in the McAllister Justice series, and still it wasn’t enough. Thus, when I found out there was a blog tour scheduled for Tiago I was more than ready to participate.

Tiago is the first book in the Kurupira Romance series, and I can only cross my fingers that there will be more of these books. For such a short and seemingly simple story, Tiago gave us so much. Not only in terms of what the story gives us, but also in terms of what it promises us for future books in the series. Honestly, I’m so excited to read more Kurupira Romance stories, with this one promising to give me a series in league with the author’s Carnal series.

From the get-go, the story is filled with Reily Garrett’s trademarks. If you’ve yet to read one of her books, let me break that down for you.

First up, the beautiful prose. Reily Garrett has a very unique way of writing, and I positively adore it. Her words bring the story to life, throwing you straight into the scenes. The words flow beautifully and there is real talent to be seen in how the story is told. Without a doubt, I’m in love with the author’s way of writing. Any words I could say to describe her way of writing pales in comparison to what we’re given.

Second, there’s the complex characters. No matter the story, Reily Garrett gives a wonderful cast of characters. Every character is unique, an individual. Every character is complex. Every character is real. There is nothing simple about any of the characters, the good and the bad being wonderfully complex. Whether characters are at the centre of the story, or whether they’re side characters, every character is well developed and a lot of fun to read.

Third, the pacing. I could split this paragraph up into lots of different aspects, but I’ll try to keep it simple through encompassing everything instead of boring you with lot of differing details. You see, Reily Garrett brings so many different elements into this story. Action. Romance, Mystery. The supernatural. And then some. Each is given attention, each aspect playing out wonderfully. The action is consistently great: it ebbs and flows in such a way that you’re gripped, never facing a dull moment, merely being given the occasional moment to try and settle your heart rate. The romance plays out in a wonderful way: it’s fast paced, but it’s easy to see the way in which the characters connect and how their feelings develop over time. The mystery is there throughout: you’re constantly left with questions, with so many different parts of the story having a cloak of mystique surrounding details. The supernatural is explained at just the right time: you constantly know there is something more, but the way in which the details are given allows you to slowly fall in love with each and every aspect of the world. Honestly, I cannot wait to find out more.

Whilst those are the three biggest factors to stand out in this wonderful tale, they’re not the only great things. There’s lots of little things throughout, each and every aspect working to make the story that tiny bit better. Honestly, Reily Garrett has created yet another wonderful tale with this one. The only downside for me was that I wanted more: it was such a quick read, and I would have enjoyed spending more time in this story. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing – it shows how good a job an author has done when you’re left wanting more, but I do wish the tale had been a bit longer.

Overall, this is another wonderful read by the author. I really am hoping we get more Kurupira Romance books: there’s such promise here. Now whilst it wasn’t my favourite read by the author – that award goes to Carnal Obsession – it is certainly a very easy four star read. If you’ve yet to give Reily Garrett a read, this is a great place to start.

Honestly, pick up a Reily Garrett book if you have yet to – I promise, you will not regret to decision.

All of a sudden, in just one moment, Brielle's world comes crashing down before her very eyes. Three people lie dead in the kitchen and one of them is her cancer-stricken mother. How did it come to this, she wonders as she tries to dial 911. Of course, the assailants lying on the floor with her sick mother had everything to do with it, but more important were her mother’s vague warnings about the danger surrounding a crystal necklace she'd given her a long time ago, her need to flee into the amazon and seek refuge with a certain Sherman, as well as an uncertain future. And who is the mate the dying woman rasped about with her last breathe?
The girl can only answer these questions by obeying her mother, and fast.
I liked the abrupt shock at the beginning of this narrative. It will jolt readers as it did me, sending them into an unending spiral of questions most of whose answers remain unanswered till the very last pages of this book. This story has a roller-coaster ride and an unshakeable plot. Its characters are well thought out and grounded, and the ending is as satisfying as the uncertain beginning. The story's theme of natural conservatism warms up to the world's green sustenance movement, and its culture-laden pages are a welcome deviation from more conservative approaches by other similar works.
I found no problem with the interior design and the book cover. Mind you, I won’t say this book is hundred percent perfect owing to the few typos and grammatical errors I ignored while reading it, but I must say that these little mistakes can be corrected with another edit, so they don’t hinder an enjoying read.
