Product Description

Alcohol isn’t the only thing that can make a girl tipsy.
Julie Preston is an artist. But her canvas isn’t paper or clay. It’s hair. She spends her days coloring, blow drying and styling her clients hair at the Razor’s Edge salon. Julie is also annoyed. She went out on a date and had a great time, gave the guy her number and the jerk never called.
So when he waltzes into the salon and sits down in her chair she briefly considers strangling him with the pink cape she fastens around his neck.
Too bad she can’t.
Blue Markson, the guy who never called, is a police officer so causing him bodily harm would be a first class ticket into the slammer. Just looking at him again makes Julie forget why she was mad in the first place, but she’s already learned that Blue is nothing but heartache. So when he starts coming around, acting like he hadn’t made her stare at the phone for days, she tries to brush him off.
Only…
Her life is about to blow up in her face, she’s about to get caught up in a sticky web of crime and the one guy who can help her is the one guy she vowed never to trust again.

3.0 out of 5 stars This book is just as great as the others July 1 2015

I got a little behind on the books as they came out after reading Tease. I still hadn't read the third book when this one came out and I know they're standalones but I refuse to read them out of order. As soon as I saw the cover for Tipsy, I knew I had to read it.

This book is just as great as the others, but I have to admit that it took me longer to read than any of the others in the series so far. It was good but it didn't suck me in as much as the other books. I really did enjoy the story and the characters were great. Cambria Hebert is wonderful at creating believable and relateable characters and settings. Blue was a great character and I think I enjoyed that piercings just as much as Julie did.

The only bad thing about being caught up with the series is that now I have to wait for Tricks! (This review was written prior to Tricks being released).

Rating: 3 Stars.
Character: Blue.

A novel full of sweetness, hotness and humor......I so love all these books in this series!!

"Tipsy" Meet Blue aka hot Undercover Cop and Julie aka beautician......just read it...too good to review in my own words because I couldn't help but feel a little swoonworthy tipsiness :)

"Every single word fled my brain. I mean my vocabulary literally ran away. I couldn't even blame them. There was no word that could that could compete with such a face.

His eyes were such a deep blue that they held me captive in a single glance. He had a masculine and angular face, with a straight nose, full of lips, and a cleft in the center of his chin. He was clean shaven and smelled so good that I actually leaned closer.

Who in the h$!! actually leaned closer to an officer who wanted to giver her a speeding ticket? He was lean but not too thin, tall, and did his uniform justice. I was a little embarrassed to admit the gun strapped to his hip turned me on.

And then I saw the handcuffs......I didn't know I was a dirty ho until that moment. I imagined all kinds of inappropriate things involving those handcuffs." ~~Julie

5.0 out of 5 stars 5++ super fun stars for me! Feb. 9 2014

Super great 5++ stars! : )

Blue & Julie's story is a great recovery read, the kind of story I love to come back to again & again. It's dual POV, so we know what's going on w/ each character every step of the way. There are issues keeping them apart, but those issues are well-done & not at all what I would call "angsty." Their relationship is unconventional a bit, but they're both very present in it. (That may make more sense once you read it! LOL) And, there is action! And there is fun! And there are a few moments that made me *snortgiggle* which always makes for a great book in my mind. The pacing was great, dialogue was great, and I absolutely loved the epilogue!

Keeper shelf, reread, all around happy Carrie!
4.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars - Hebert delivers again. Feb. 9 2014

For the most part, I've really been enjoying Cambria Hebert's "Take It Off" series. The stories are entertaining, sexy and come with a dash of mystery. There's nothing particularly complex or challenging in these tales; more the delivery of feel-good entertainment that's well-written, if slightly cheesy at times. I liken it to visiting your favourite take-away when you're hungry and can't be bothered to make the effort to try out a new, fancier place. You know what you're getting - it's good, satisfying fare that hits the spot, even if it's a little predictable.

This is a story about a nice girl, Julie, who meets a hot cop, Blue, who must then go undercover. Not surprisingly, obstacles to their relationship abound. The book is very much focused on their relationship and on the case Blue is working. For anyone with inside knowledge of how law enforcement works, there are a few moments you'll need to suspend your disbelief, but on the whole it works well enough.

There is plenty of sexual tension, but only one full-on intimate scene; however, I didn't feel the book lacked as a consequence of that. I think there would have been credibility issues with the whole storyline if they were finding time to go at it like rabbits while Blue is working the bad guys. Instead, Hebert has relied upon dual viewpoint and snippets of snappy dialogue to keep the emotions humming along.

In "Tipsy", the author has created two very likeable characters. I would put Julie and Blue as a close second to the characters she created in "Text" and it's interesting to read in the Acknowledgements that these two stories were written almost concurrently, despite the idea of "Tipsy" being conceived many years before. I'm glad Hebert left it until now to write this story, because I think she is improving all the time.

Definitely looking forward to "Tricks", the first chapter of which is provided at the end of "Tipsy". Keep 'em coming, Ms Hebert :)
5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Series! Each Book Has Been Great. Dec 10 2013

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS - PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE THEM :-)

This was another winner in this series. I have enjoyed each of these books, and honestly don't think I could pick a favorite. They're all stand alone books with wonderful characters and we get HEAs every time. What is not to love??!!

Blue is ..... WOW! He's a hot, sexy, protective police officer who also has a great personality and is charming. Blue (BTW what a cool name) is a cop who stops a speeding Julie on her way to work. He doesn't give Julie a ticket on the condition that she'll go out with him to dinner that night. Julie is a beautiful hair stylist who loves life and is witty and fun to be around. The two are instantly attracted to each other and have an amazing time together on their date. Afterwards, Blue tells Julie he'll call her but he never does.

Several months later, Blue shows up at the Salon where Julie works to get her to cut his hair. Julie is still hurt, but the attraction is still strong and still there between them. Blue explains to Julie that he's been out of town on business since their date and couldn't see her. He doesn't tell her he was under cover and couldn't contact anyone. After a couple of weeks and another hair cut, Blue gets Julie to agree to go on a second date. As he's walking out the door to get her, he gets called back to the precinct and placed back under cover immediately. Julie is beyond pissed at being stood up and goes out with her friends to a bar. Guess who she sees there? Yep, except Blue's already under cover and she's hurt he's there. When the drug dealer named Dom that Blue's investigating makes a move for Julie at the bar, Blue snaps and informs him she's off limits. In an attempt to not blow his cover, Blue quickly gets Julie out of there without much explanation to her. Later that night, he shows up at her house because he knows Julie is special and doesn't want her mad at him. Blue makes the decision to tell her that he's working under cover, and tells her to stay clear of Dom, especially now that Dom has seen her and knows they are connected.

There are some twists and turns in the story, and some unforeseen players involved in the drug dealing that you don't expect. Will Blue be able to crack the case quickly before something happens? Will Julie wait for him? What happens if Dom sees Julie again - will he recognize her? I don't want to say anything more because you really want to read this book to experience it all yourself and see what happens to Blue and Julie. You will LOVE Blue, and you will also love Julie. Both are excellent lead characters. The pace of the story is good and you'll want to keep reading to see what happens next.

At the end, readers get a little sneak peak at the next book in this series entitled Tricks coming in early 2014, which looks to be another enjoyable book in this series. The books in this series are all really great books that can be read quickly and leave you with a warm smile.
