Product Description

One moment, one ordinary day changed my life and led me to my forever.

Three guys tried to kidnap me.

One man saved me.

I was beyond scared. Being blind, I was already terrified of my every move, the unknown frightening.

His name is Torch. Once he decided I was his, he didn't let me go. Torch became everything to me: my protector, my safe haven, my husband, lover, and most of all, the father to my babies. He made me see that I didn't have to be afraid of my every step, because he would always be there to catch me before I fell.

Torch is the Vice President of the Devils Souls MC. The men are violent and scary, but I learned to trust them, because above everything else, their women are protected. They became my family. My only family.

This is a standalone, with a HEA.

I was so excited for this one but it just fell a little short of my expectations. Torch is an MC romance and INSTA-love story. I don’t mind insta-love storylines, in fact, sometimes I love them. But for me to love such novels, the characters must have a spark, an immediate real connection and chemistry that jumps from the pages- something that I can believe. Unfortunately, (and this is just MY opinion) Torch and Kayla did not have this. To me their initial meet and “connection”- and entire relationship- felt all to rushed.

I still gave this a 2.5-star rating because even though I wasn’t invested in the romance, I did like the characters as individuals- both main and secondary. Torch was your typical MC hottie, he was tough, protective and loyal. Kayla was strong, feisty and funny- I loved that she always threatened people with her taser lol.

I really wanted to love this book and I’m sure there are many people who will, but I just wasn’t captivated by it and the romance fell flat. Again, this is my personal opinion, so check it out for yourself. 2.5*Stars

So I will start by saying I love Torch as a character, he is everything most look for in a book boyfriend, he is an awesome alpha male.
I really liked that it's an MC book, they are so popular right now and are one of my favourite genres. I really like how instantly torch knew what he was wanted and he never wavered.
I did feel like there was a lot going on and at times found myself a bit lost as to what was happening in this story. There were a few phrases over used that made it seem a bit repetitive, I love military men but I was surprised to see it mixed like this (they were good honourable men who fought for their countries but then came back and joined a hardcore MC and started doing some illegal things like offing people lol) and I'll be honest, some situations really reminded me of another series I read quite a bit.
Kayla is blind but I found there was very little talk about her actual condition and that might make readers scratch their heads. Kayla is an awesome and strong chick, definitely an awesome female character.
The story itself kept me interested overall and I did read every page the author wrote, a solid 3 stars from me.
This book has:
-Instalove
-Unplanned baby
-Awesome alpha male.

I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you LeeAn Ashers!

Did I like this book? Yes. Did I love it? No. This breaks my heart because I really wanted to love it. Here are the reasons why I didn't.

Firstly, Kayla fell in love with Torch way to fast for my liking. I understand that he saved her and all, but he could've easily been another abductee playing the hero to get to her. I feel like she is the type of person who had no faith in humanity and assumed the worst of people. Therefore, that didn't sit right with me.

Another aspect is the speed at which important events pass. I will not name them for the sake of not spoiling the book, but most of those life and death situations lasted maybe a page tops? Whereas the sex scenes, which were great, lasted multiple pages. That lack of balance was throwing me off.

Kayla was also completely unfazed by what Torch was doing. I get that she understood why he was doing it, but I feel like the book should've touched a little bit about her possibly being uncomfortable with the sort of things Torch was inflicting upon others.

Now, enough negativity, here's what I liked about the book! It was original. I had never read a romance book about a blind girl before and I believe that for the sake of diversity, this book was needed.

I also enjoyed the topics the book touches upon; rape, child abuse, and young girl trafficking. Human trafficking is not something you hear about a lot on the news. I cannot even recall a time I did. I believe that it is important to do as much as we can to end this horrible practice - and that goes for all the disheartening topics present in this book.

So to wrap up, love the principles of this book, but wasn't a fan of the writing distribution!

This is great read. The men or sexy and the women are hot. It has a good storey line and Kayla is no princess.

It's been a while since I've read an MC romance novel but because the heroine is blind I jumped on this one. When authors write characters that have disabilities I find my self more engrossed with the story and I felt that this one was going to be the best of both worlds.

Kayla was an amazing women. She was tough even though she had her own set of short comings. She didn't let he past keep her down and I loved her so hard!

Torch was totally a knight in shining armor. His words were sweet but he was gruff and a total biker at the same time.

I loved the relationship. It was fast paced, insta-love type but it really worked for this story. It had me laughing hard right from the start. I wish I could hush about some of the scenes but I don't want to spoil other readers enjoyment!

I laughed so hard while reading this book. Let's just say that Torch is scary! He can scare the carp out of anyone who crosses him.

I like when love is instant and over the top. Some people might not like how this author made her characters because yes, some things are a little unrealistic (like orgasming so quick) but I found that I really loved that aspect. It made a hot book even hotter.

It's hard to describe this book with out giving too much away. It was an MC romance with an over the top hero who did what ever it took to take care of his women. I love that she was blind. It added a additional aspect to the book.

If your looking for a fast paced romance, with an amazing set of characters, some action and drama, then this book is for you. It's one of those over the top alpha, fast insta-love type romance and that's exactly what I got. I can't wait to read more in this series, and more of this author's other books. 5 stars #2OCCJD

2.0 out of 5 stars Good premise, but really needs help. April 11 2017

I enjoyed the storyline, but there were some major issues with the writing.
1 - We don't know where they are. After about 1/2 way through the book, Raleigh is mentioned. Then a few chapters after, they are in the Texas heat. There was no description of the town, nothing about the townspeople.
2 - A person blind from infancy would not know what blue was, would not be surprised by sizes, and would already know how their spouse looked, for the most part. Touch is a really accurate sense.
3 - The good guys were overtly good, the bad guys were exaggeratedly bad. Lots of drama happened, but when it was over (and nothing was drawn out or explained in detail), it was over and everyone just moved on. The characters were just not believable.

Overall, I liked the idea of the storyline, but wanted more. I wanted mature characters with some depth.

3.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed the story April 3 2017

You know what would have really helped this book? How about not give the entire book away in the synopsis... that would definitely help. I personally didn't read it until after I started the book because I bought this book because I want to read the next in this series. The cover of this story is what really drew me in.

I enjoyed the story, there are some editing and flow things that could really use some help, but I'm not going to critique that, because that's not my job and I couldn't quite tell you what the problems were except she need more contractions. There were somethings that happened that were not realistic, but it's fictions.. so I guess I will allow it to pass.

Over all, this book had some really great moment, some I could have done without. I personally really want to read the rest of the character's stories, but I really hope that there are some changes that have been made between then and now, because I feel a great potential for these stories.
3.0 out of 5 stars New MC series May 14 2017

Torch was the first book I've read by LeAnn Asher and it's the first book of the Devil Souls MC series.

I was soooo ready for a good MC book. I love the big confident alpha that screams MC! And I love the suspenseful action plot that typically accompanies it. Torch had both.

Torch was the VP and an original member of the Devil's Souls MC. He was big, gorgeous, protective, and a single father who raised a daughter completely on his own.

Kayla was beautiful and blind. She had a horrendous childhood and was used to being ridiculed and tormented due to her blindness. She was also tough, funny and strong.

The book opens with Kayla and Torch's first encounter. Kayla was in the process of being abducted and Torch came to her rescue.

The first half of the book was the best for me. I loved how this started - the hero and heroine hit it off from the start and didn't mess around with avoiding their attraction. They owned it and never looked back. I loved that! Kayla was hysterical - super sweet but then had a temper when people were mean or abusing. Torch was over the top alpha and possessive and it worked for me.

The difficult part for me was that the back half of the book mirrored the first half, so her humor wasn't as funny and I was craving more complexity and dimension. Asher did take us through additional steps within their relationship as well as various activity within the MC and I loved the direction and the potential. However, I desired more depth and challenge. As the plot progressed, it seemed disjointed and needed more detail to fill in the gaps.

Lastly, I was confused as to where the series can go. Within Torch's story, Asher had already paired every MC member with their forever love, and then the epilogue included names of offspring; yet the upcoming books in the series show that each member will get his own book. My personal preference was to keep those details for each book so some of the suspense remained, but it's a new approach for me and I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

The epilogue was thorough and created a desire for the offspring books, so I'm hopeful those details will be saved for each individual story. I'm ready for those books now!

Techy and Alisha's story is next. We met them in Torch and now we'll get their back story in Techy.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great beginning to the Devil Souls MC series by LeAnn Ashers! April 19 2017

Torch (Devil Souls MC Book 1) by LeAnn Ashers is a great way to start this MC series.

The action is right from the start, when blind Kayla is nearly kidnapped by a gang of human traffickers that have just set up shop in the area. Torch happens to be nearby when he hear Kayla trying to get herself free.

Torch is drawn to Kayla not because she is blind, but because of the strength of character she has because of her blindness. It doesn't take them long to become a couple, and yet their problems continue. Torch is older, and has a daughterPaisley, he raised himself, and she is in college. Kayla and Paisley become close, and Torch couldn't be happier, but then she announces she is pregnant.

Torch and the MC members are close on the tail of crushing the trafficking gang, and make a horrible discovery at one of their raids. A little emaciated girl, let out of her cage claims that Lane is her father and was sold by her druggie mother to use as leverage against Lane. Poor Lane never even knew this girl existed, but he was sure about to change all that!

There was shooting at Torch and Kayla, and lots of other action with this MC and their women! And it would seem that twins run in the MC too! Rose and Trenton start this off as Torch and Kayla's babies.

Loved this first book, and hope the rest of the series is just as enjoyable too. Loved the writing style, the humor, the characters and how they play off each other. Another editing pass would have helped clear those annoying typos and grammar issues, but all-in-all it was a great read!
