They should release the other seasons. Well written and acted. This is a bit blurry at times but that was the way it was back in the 90s and now everyone has hi def TV's. I wonder why this cannot be streamed in Canada.

This is a pretty original idea for a TV series - and largely succeeds in what it sets out to do. That's to say, it's both pretty plausible and at the same time entertaining. I don't know whether stockbrokers make the kind of subject that most people find entertaining - but I certainly got my money's worth. Performances are mostly creditable, and the stories sufficiently varied so that one's interest never flags. I wouldn't go so far as to say that this is a particularly memorable series, but whilst it's on it's fun. Otherwise I might have upped the rating to 4 stars.

I'd never heard of this series until I stumbled across it browsing Amazon. Bought it on the strength of the reviews-and it was worth every penny. Absolutely absorbing from the first episode. Brilliant writing and acting-had to watch all epiisodes without stopping. If there was another season, please release it: one of the best things on TV.

I first remembered the hype for the pilot of this show. I didn't bother to give it a look, but years later I remember watching an episode because CTV was showing a figure skating competition instead of ER. I was hooked instantly! This has to be the best show EVER on TV and I'm so proud it's Canadian. I was hooked religously from the 3rd season onwards. I'm so glad this first season DVD came out, but I'm praying... no I'm BEGGING they release the other seasons, no matter the cost!

This is an EXCELLENT series. Most, if not all of the characters have flaws which affect how they interact with each other and how they conduct business. If you ever wondered what a school of sharks in business suits would look like, this is it. You'll find yourself loving and hating them at the same time. The story line assumes the viewer has some intelligence. The fast pace keeps you on the edge of your seat. Make a few sandwhiches and a thermos of coffee before you watch the first show cause you'll have a hard time getting away from the TV after that!
I've already seen all the episodes on TV a couple of times each, but still wanted to own this series on DVD. I sure hope they get around to releasing the remaining 4 seasons on DVD. I want them all!

I bought this series on a whim, and I am glad I own it. After the second episode, I was hooked. The show is intelligent, well written, and all the characters have more than two dimensions. The actors play off each other well, and the stories have a good mix of drama and light moments.
When the powers that be decided to release the remaining seasons, I'll be first in line.

It was a pretty good show 20 years ago when it was broadcast. And now it hasn't lost it's appeal. The only thing is that the technology shown is ancient but the story lines are timeless. Good acting, good characters, good writing. What more could you hope for.
I'd like to get my hands of the other 4 seasons.

A pleasant surprise; nerdy entertainment

I am no TV fan. This little Canadian gem caught my eye, though, and as a fan of the financial drama type genre (and here I am thinking for example of the original "Wall Street," and to some extent "American Psycho," in its more tame moments), I gave it a whirl. Here we have a very wide range of personalities thrown into an investment bank/trading firm, shaken and stirred. There are nefarious schemers, a clown or two (the "derivatives genius" idiot savant is unbelievably silly), and a 1990s look (transitional from open call type era forward, with some archaic computers). Of course plenty of collision courses are set in motion. It's relaxing, and I'm sure the direct participants would find plenty of flaws and absurdities. But I will watch it through again.

We Want More!
Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2013Verified Purchase
This series is absolutely amazing! The characters are well-thought and getting just...a...little more about them in each episode is like learning about all your relatives. They laugh & backstab & pull each other up when they fall. The intrigue that hovers in the background is only a little bit easier to handle when you know you don't have to wait a week to find out what happens next.
BUT -- When are we going to get the rest of this series? From all accounts, no one even knows who owns the right to TRADERS anymore. So here's a shout to Canada in general:
IT'LL SELL! GIVE IT UP! WE WANT MORE!!!

Where to get additional seasons, seriously. Would pay about $100 for seasons 2-5. I can't even find a copy online... Season 1 was truly excellent. I want to see what happens next.
