This is one of 3 books I read to prepare myself for my first NYC puppy. I found this to be a mostly common-sense guide to owners' etiquette in the city. I'd recommend this book to someone who is moving to the city with an adult dog, because they may not know what to expect from the city, let alone from the dog.
But for serious City Dog tips and specific training info, I highly recommend "Urban Dog" by Cis Frankel. For anyone getting a puppy for the first time, I recommend "The Art of Raising a Puppy" by Monks of New Skete, and there are a lot of really great step-by-step guides on the ASPCA Website for teaching your dog various commands.
