JD Robb has done a great job with this series of stories. Waiting a year for the next one is getting really hard. If you enjoy crime drama mixed with sex and laughs, you are going to love these books. Be sure to start at the beginning though, so you can get the full effect of the story. Enjoy!!!

I enjoy the writings of JD Robb, she does an excellent job of bringing her characters to life, showing their flaws, their needs, their loves, their uncertainties, and intermixes them into a great story.

In a story where we are exposed to the world of bad, corrupt cops, Eve and Peabody stand out as stars, standing against those who would bring down the line for which they stand. Protecting people from those who do evil.

You can tangibly feel the disgust that Dallas, Lieutenant Eve holds for such people, and why she throws her passion behind bringing down those who would do evil, when they should be doing what is good and right.

I enjoyed watching Eve, Roarke, Peabody and all the crew figure out how to cause the dirty cops to take missteps in order to bring them down, even to flush some of the hidden ones out into the open.

Well written, good to learn more about these characters I have come to enjoy so much. :) Worth a read if you like J.D. Robb's style. Reviewed .. just because I felt like it. :)

This story starts on an unrelated matter to the main plot, however, the overall theme makes sense and it is the perfect introduction to what needs to happen to kick off the main storyline. J D Robb certainly has the knack to draw the reader in, no matter the subject matter of the book. You simply know it's going to be good - all you really need to wonder is, is anyone going to get hurt and how badly.
Treachery In Death leads us into the world of corrupt cops and what is necessary to take them down, how deep the corruption goes, who is on what side of the 'thin blue line' and just how clever everything is organised. A very active and actual subject in the real world that the author tackles and masterfully resolves ... true Dallas, Lieutenant Eve, style. Yes, sadly, bad cops to exist in everyday life - however, I am equally convinced (as are our heroes) that the good guys do outsmart, outmanoeuvre and outnumber their corrupt counterparts!
This tale also reintroduces Lieutenant Webster from IAB (Internal Affairs) - he was involved in a previous investigation in this series - and even provides him with a love interest, taking the tension off Eve where her husband Rourke is concerned and, well, let's just see where it takes us. No doubt we'll hear more about them in later adventures. However, new readers do not need to be concerned that they will not be able to follow the already established characters, J D Robb has a knack of providing enough details for those not familiar with the people involved.
Avid readers of the In Death series are also introduced to new characters and Dallas' squad members are getting more involvement time which is interesting. Who will see it through to the end? Will we find the new people in future cases or are they simply needed for this story?

Overall I really enjoyed this novel, although it did take me a little bit more time than I would have liked to get through it. The main characters Roarke, Peabody and Eve were extremely intriguing and left me wanting to get to know them even more than just what was between the covers of the novel. Robb, drops little tidbits in the novel about their past but not enough to reveal it totally to the reader, only enough for them to know that a certain character could have had a rocky past and that is what leads them to make certain judgement now. Hopefully I’ll have the same thoughts about the other books in the series.

This book wasn't as good as most of J. D. Robb's books. The storyline was okay, but I found there were too many of her associates in the book and not enough story. I do recommend the book. I just wasn't as pleased as I usually am.

You would think that after thirty-two books in a series, there couldn't possibly be anywhere new to take the characters. I guess you would be wrong. I really enjoyed the new spin on Eve's adventures in this book.

Instead of investigating a murder (or rather, in addition to investigating a murder), Eve is trying to gather evidence on a ring of dirty cops. You know very early on in the story who the bad guys are, and that takes a little of the edge out of the experience, but watching Eve figure out how to round everybody up is still good fun. I also enjoyed seeing IAB Lieutenant Webster back in the story, and getting some more insight on a few other minor characters in the series. Fans of Eve's exploits are sure to enjoy this new installment.
