TRIUMPH AND TREASURE (HIGHLAND HEATHER ROMANCING A SCOT SERIES)
*2015 RONE Honorable Mention*
*2015 Wisconsin RWA Write Touch Readers Award Winner*

A disillusioned Scottish gentlewoman.
Angelina Ellsworth once believed in love--before she discovered her husband of mere hours was a slave-trader and already married. To avoid the scandal and disgrace, she escapes to the estate of her aunt and uncle, the Duke and Duchess of Waterford. When Angelina learns she is with child, she vows she'll never trust a man again.

A privileged English lord.
Flynn, Earl of Luxmoore, led an enchanted life until his father committed suicide after losing everything to Waterford in a wager. Stripped of all but his title, Flynn is thrust into the role of marquis as well as provider for his disabled sister and invalid mother. Unable to pay his father's astronomical gambling loss, Flynn must choose between social or financial ruin.

When the duke suggests he'll forgive the debt if Flynn marries his niece, Flynn accepts the duke's proposal. Reluctant to wed a stranger, but willing to do anything to protect her babe and escape the
clutches of the madman who still pursues her, Angelina agrees to the union.

Can the earl and his Scottish lass find happiness and love in a marriage neither wanted, or is the chasm between them insurmountable?

*Though this book is part of a series, it is a stand-alone novel.

I am not going to get into the story as most of the reviews have already furnished the plot and back story. I will just say Collette has Triumphed with this Treasure. I want a man like Flynn, Earl of Luxmoore! He is a gentle man of honour, integrity and caring in the way he treats the ladies of his family, our Heroine Angelina and even the Duchess of Waterford.

I will say though I got angry for both H&H and I wanted to smack the villainous Duke of Waterford upside the head when gets so drunk he forgets himself in mixed company and then at his reprehensible conduct later on in the book (shh no spoiler). I also wanted a little more anger from Flynn towards the Duke for being the instigator of 'his best friend', Flynn's Father's death.

I like how Collette included other characters from previous books and a little play-by-play to tempt us towards the coming novels. I kept flipping back and forth to my books TBR to check as to where they fit and if I had read their stories yet. That was my only hic-up. I kind of wish she hadn't included as much info in the epilogue as I think a pairing (or two) are mentioned that haven't been written yet and will be a future 'Romancing a Scot Series' book.

I truly enjoyed this book and eagerly await the next in the series. Now I will start tackling my TBR of The Castle Bride Trilogy also by Collette Cameron.

I would defiantly recommend any and all of this authors works. You will not be disappointed.

ARC of this book given to me by the author for my honest opinion with no compensation received.

HASH(0xa0139ad4) out of 5 stars A perfect romance! Dec 3 2014
By Liza O'Connor - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Collette Cameron gets everything right in Triumph and Treasure.

Both hero and heroine triumph over their very serious problems created by no fault of their own, and discover what a treasure they had found in each other.

Angelina is sorely used by a despicable man, who portrays charm and love up to the point he marries her. After a brutish and abrupt `quickie' when they arrived at the inn after the marriage, men drag Pierre alias Charles away, but not before Angelina discovers just how despicable her supposed husband is. For one, he is already married, he also gave a false name on their wedding certificate, and finally, and worst of all, he is in the business of white slavery.

Appalled, Angelina sails to London to stay with her aunt & uncle. There we meet the hero, whose drunken father loses everything to the Duke of Waterford. Unable to face his family with the news, he commits suicide, leaving his son, Flynn, to try and salvage what he could. The Duke offers to return all his holdings if Flynn will marry his niece, Angelina.

The woman is charming and beautiful, so Flynn is confused as to what else hides behind this offer. Upon discovering she is with child, he thinks he has found the reason. The total explanation only comes out near the end of the book.
They marry out of necessity, to protect not just themselves, but those they love, for shame doesn't cover just the one who causes a disaster; instead it spreads to innocent family members as well. The two are so well matched that in short order they fall in love.

Some authors would have stopped here, but Colleen has so much more in store for her characters, which I will not reveal. I will only say this: the pacing was perfection. They neither dwelled on a topic too long nor too fast. While a great deal of surprises occur, each, in retrospect made complete sense. Both the hero and heroine do us proud, and you will love both. A great deal of characters were introduced and I expect some of them wish to have their own books in the future. The book has two villains and you won't like either, although one is far worse than the other.

The sense of history that Colleen places in her story is enough to firmly ground you to the time, but not so much as to distract you from the story.

In all ways this is a fabulous read. I give it five glorious stars.

HASH(0xa08456f0) out of 5 stars Sacrifice often brings great reward... Dec 3 2014
By Violetta - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Wonderful story of heartache and love... Angelina throws herself into the arms of true love only to find it's not what she expected. But through her personal tragedy, she finds she's more than capable of taking care of herself, even if it means changing everything about her current life. Through her willingness to sacrifice her own happiness, the heroine is rewarded with something greater than she ever imagined. Well written and entertaining, I recommend this story for all Regency lovers.

HASH(0xa056bea0) out of 5 stars Another Hit for Ms. Cameron! Dec 3 2014
By Janice Hougland - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
OMGoodness, I adored this first book in the author's Highland Heather Romancing a Scot series! There was a really awful bad guy who treated Angelina so cruelly that she swore off men forever, there was a reluctant but sigh-worthy hero called Flynn who treated Angelina so wonderfully that she couldn't help but fall in love with him, there was a potpourri of English and Scots family members -both good and bad, and an adventure and mystery to entice the most jaded historical romance reader. Sigh. It was simply terrific and I love Ms. Cameron's writing!

HASH(0xa01946e4) out of 5 stars A great, romantic read Dec 3 2014
By Elaine Jeremiah - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Angelina Ellsworth has had her reputation almost destroyed by the man she married - who was already married. And it gets worse for her when she discovers that she's pregnant.

Flynn, the Earl of Luxmoore, had it all until his father lost everything before committing suicide to the Duke of Waterford, Angelina's uncle.

But fate brings Angelina and Flynn unwillingly together. The duke tells Flynn he must marry Angelina in order to pay back the debt. Angelina must marry Flynn to save her reputation...

I thought this was a really romantic, fun story. The premise of two people being brought together unwillingly was an interesting, different one. I liked the way that over time their feelings for one another change. I thought Flynn made a dashing, handsome hero and Angelina was a vulnerable yet feisty heroine.

The ending of the story was hugely satisfying and well worth the wait. This book will appeal to anyone who enjoys a great, romantic read with plenty of will-they, won't-they moments.

HASH(0xa340a594) out of 5 stars A Matter of choices! Dec 3 2014
By Nicole Laverdure - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Triumph and Treasure was a delight to read. Again, Collette Cameron, wrote a beautiful story of two souls refusing to let love enter their lives. Great debut for her new series Highland Heather Romancing a Scot. When you'll read it, be aware that some emotions in this story, will grab you and take you on a roller coaster ride. You'll cry or laugh! It's the story of a man and a woman, who didn't have any choices concerning their personal lives, everything they did, was for the others. I loved her main characters Angelina Ellsworth and Flynn, Earl of Luxmoore. Their lives will be very complexed! Angelina discovers that the man she married, is already married to another, so to avoid scandal and disgrace, she runs away, only to find that she is with child. What will happen to her? Will she be able to trust another man? Who will protect her? Flynn is a privileged English lord, until his father dies in disgrace and turns Flynn's life upside down. Unable to care for his sister and mother, Flynn must find a solution. How will Angelina and Flynn help each others? What will happen next? Will they finally find peace and true love! Touching story of secrets, betrayal, scandal and passion!
