Product Description

Sometimes you can't help falling in love, even when you try to do the opposite...
Successful fashion blogger McKenna Bell has spent far too long protecting herself after the way her ex-fiancé left her at the altar for a college chick he met the night of his bachelor party. Loving again, trusting again, well, that's just not in the cards. Especially now that her ex is back in town with his new woman, demanding custody of McKenna's favorite creature in the whole world--her dog. No effing way. McKenna's had enough of him, and she decides to even the score by finding her own hot young thing -- a Trophy Husband. Sure, she's only twenty-seven, but doesn't that make it even more fun -- and infuriating to her ex -- to pursue a younger man? When she declares her intentions on her daily blog, her quest quickly skyrockets in popularity, and that's when Chris enters the picture, and he's got all the assets. He's handsome, successful, and turns her inside out with a kiss to end all kisses, the kind that makes you feel like a shooting star. But loving again could mean losing again, and it's so much easier to focus on getting even, isn't it? Unless, you just can't help falling in love. Which means McKenna will have to come face to face with what she really wants in life -- protecting her heart from hurt, or letting go of her fears of a new beginning. (love story, contemporary romance, alpha heroes, beach reads, sexy romance, falling in love)

I loved this book! Trophy Husband is a refreshing story about falling in love when you least expect it.

McKenna decided she was over the whole love thing, since her ex royally screwed her over the night before their wedding.
She deicide's to find a trophy husband, because the love thing wasn't working out for her.

You will not find a whiny female MC in this story, at all. You all know what I'm talking about here!
She is successful, independent, funny and witty.

Enter Chris...*swoon* He is successful in his own right, he is hot (of course) and a surfer (can't go wrong there), funny, sweet, thoughtful, and romantic. You should really read to find out how great he is!

I found myself smiling throughout this book. The flirting, the funny, but hot love scenes. Lucky Qbert!
I think McKenna and Chris are a perfect match. This is the type of guy I would want in my life. If I had someone do the things for me that he did for McKenna, there is no way I'd let him go.

Oh and if you are a crier when reading books, make sure you have a few tissues handy. Don't worry, it's a good cry:)
You won't be disappointed with this book. This is the 3rd one of Lauren's I've read, and my favourite so far. Can't wait for more from her.

Just what u want in a Romance book to escape. Well written and I always appreciate humour I often had a big grin on my face reading this book. The dialogue was well written and engaging. I also look for good romantic sexy tension and this book had that in spades. Overall everything u look for in a Romance.

HASH(0xa6cce864) out of 5 stars Sweet, Sexy and Fun, Much More Than Just Arm Candy! May 19 2013
By Erotica Fan - Published on

You know what I love about Lauren Blakely's books? At the core of each novel is a strong, smart and fun woman for whom achieving professional success is not a hindrance but rather adds to her fabulousness. And yet, despite her drive and strength, the leads are not immune to the universal truths of disappointments in love. These disappointments never paralyze the lead, and she does't define herself by the disappointments. And yes, in the end of course, she overcomes and finds new love, or as in the case of Caught Up In Us, finds an old love renewed again.

Trophy Husband builds on the same path of Caught Up In Him and Pretending He's Mine, but this story builds more slowly. With each chapter the story of our heroine got stronger and a concept that first threw me a bit (hunting for a trophy husband) completely won me over as being true to the lead character and Blakely's track record of writing strong women. And yes, there is a small, but significant tie-in of characters with Caught Up In Him for those of you who are hardcore fans of Blakely.

In Trophy Husband, the story definitely lives up to the eye catching cover. I prefer not to give too much away in a review, so briefly: McKenna has a run in with her ex-fiance who left her for a much younger and um...more physically flexible...woman. Things have been going great in McKenna's career and it seems like she's almost over the ex, but then he throws a huge curve ball that reignites her pain. Enter her plan to get back, get even, get over...she'll prove that women too can have a trophy spouse...and she sets out to find one.

Yes, there are willing candidates but then one guy, who is a few years too old to be a trophy material enters the picture. Will she stick to her plan? Or will the potential for a real new love throw her off track?

The other thing I will note about Blakely's books is they all have hot scenes - but each book has a different level of heat. In Pretending, the sex was fast to arrive and hot and heavy. In Caught it was playful, teasing, and filled with emotion, the way it can be between former lovers. What I love about Trophy Husband is the heat builds slowly just like true love should. McKenna may be man shopping but she's not giving her goods easily.

Note: This review is based on an advanced copy I received from the author.

HASH(0xa6cceab0) out of 5 stars Sexy, fun, romantic comedy June 3 2013

Trophy Husband is a great romantic comedy about getting hurt, getting even, and coming out on top. I really loved this cleverly written romance that follows McKenna as she tries to reenter the dating scene with often cringe inducing results. I couldn't help but root for her. Leave the ice cream binges and crying jags for lesser heroines in lesser books, because after having her heart shattered by a shallow ex, this woman goes out in search of her own trophy. The scenes she plays out in her head are a story all by themselves, sexy and hot, funny and irresistible.

Of course things get tangled up when sexy Chris makes his appearance. He's smoking hot, he's funny, and he's perfect. I wanted to reach through the Kindle and shake her so she'd realize it and quit looking! The chemistry between the two is just fantastic and I love every minute of this story.

HASH(0xa6ccea74) out of 5 stars Sexy funny read May 20 2013
By Fiona Wilson - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
McKenna Bell is a young, successful woman. She is happily planning her wedding when her fiancé dumps her, by voicemail, and marries someone else, the day before the planned wedding!

Following an impromptu meeting with her ex, and his new younger wife, McKenna decides to play the field more, in a different way than usual. She decides she can play the same game men do - she can find herself a younger, sexier man to be her Trophy Husband.

Together with her female friends she comes up with a plan. She will use her successful fashion blog to post videos about her dates, her clothes choices, everything. She will allow the viewers to become part of her quest to find love, to find a man who wants to become a kept man.

What she doesn't count on is meeting a kindred spirit, Chris, in a games shop. He turns out to be as much of a games geek as she is. But he is counted out of the race from the start by his age. McKenna and her friends agreed that any potential candidates must be 23 years of age or younger.

McKenna comes up with a plan, a business plan, which will benefit both her and Chris. But can they keep it purely business? In her quest for a Trophy Husband has she, in fact, found her ideal partner? Or will her loyalty to her friends and their agreement force her to bypass her own happiness and follow through in her quest?

This is a lovely story with a lot of humour in it. The way she describes the dates McKenna goes on is hilarious at times. Yet it also has a lot of affection, as well as sexiness, in it when she describes McKenna and Chris' later dates. The author definitely pulled me into the storyline, wishing that McKenna would do what she wanted, what would make her happy, rather than follow what her friends wanted her to do.

All in all a great story with equal measures of humour and sexiness which combined make it work really well.

HASH(0xa6ccef6c) out of 5 stars Loved Trophy Husband! May 20 2013

I've enjoyed all of Blakely's work, but I especially love Trophy Husband. The voice, the humor, the sexual tension--they're all packaged and delivered as promised. This is a book for people who enjoy humor in their romance and who aren't afraid of a little heat--there's no rushing through those hot moments in this one. I can totally see my friends beginning their own Operation Trophy Husband.

HASH(0xa6cd127c) out of 5 stars Great Characters! May 20 2013

This story was an excellent read. I enjoyed the fun characters living by the City by the Bay, San Francisco. More importantly, the writer created characters I connected to and cared about. Sure they were quirky and interesting, but I also wanted them to find happiness and one another. Another great read by Lauren Blakely.
