“A masterwork life-coaching manual. With advice from other leading experts in nonverbal behavior, Mark Bowden and Tracey Thomson bring you a rounded view and new system for how to understand and use body language in a wide variety of life situations.” (Greg Hartley, former US Army interrogator and human behavior consultant)

The authors Mark Bowden and Tracey Thomson have achieved this and more in this original and captivating book. If you want to learn a lot that you didn't know about what we humans do as we communicate, WHY we do them, and how this would apply to many real life scenarios that you are guarantied to relate to, then this book is for you! I was impressed with this book so much in that it can apply to any field. I am a drummer, teacher, and speaker, and everything I learned here will enhance every professional and personal area of my life. As a bonus side effect was fun and fascinating to learn more about human interactions, and what people are REALLY saying and thinking behind what they are trying to portray (*for instance, you will learn about the Truth & Lies interaction between Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau, and Justin's expert handling of their handshake meeting which I hadn't noticed before reading this book). Unless you are a rare person that just doesn't need or require any interaction with others in the outside world, the SCAN system in this book (SUSPEND judgement, check the CONTEXT, ASK 'what else', and create a NEW judgement) will definitely improve your communications with those you love, those you would like to reach out to, and those already in your personal and professional circle. Communication is KEY to a successful life, so thank you to the authors Mark and Tracey for this unique and outstanding book!
If you're interested in body language, and interpreting it (somewhat) accurately, and removing your own biases, Truth & Lies a must-read.
