Dedicated visitors to the fifth dimension will find an impressive array of extras in the season 1 set, drawing from both the Definitive Edition DVDs as well as a wealth of new material unearthed or created especially for this presentation. For many, the inclusion of "The Time Element," a 1958 episode of The Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse penned by Rod Serling, will be among the key selling points; never legally available in any format prior to this set, the hour-long story, which stars William Bendix as a man who suffers from a recurring nightmare of being at Pearl Harbor before the attack, has been widely regarded as the unofficial pilot for TZ, and it fits perfectly with the tone and quality of the established episodes. For others, the 19 new commentary tracks created for the Blu-ray set will be the draw; anchored by Twilight Zone Companion author Marc Scott Zicree, and featuring talents ranging from director Ted Post to historian Gary Gerani, the new tracks are informative and flesh out the six provided on the Definitive DVDs. There's also an early version of "What You Need" from the '50s anthology series Tales of Tomorrow; a 1978 interview with cinematographer George T. Clemens, who was responsible for the series' signature look; and 13 isolated music scores featuring the work of Bernard Herrmann and Jerry Goldsmith, among others. All of these features, plus 12 additional Twilight Zone radio adaptations, join the exceptional material from the DVDs, including an unaired version of the pilot episode, "Where Is Everybody?," with Serling's sales pitch to networks; commentary by actor Martin Landau, among others; interviews with producer Douglas Heyes and actor Burgess Meredith; recordings of Serling's lectures; original sponsor billboards; and footage of the show's Emmy wins. --Paul Gaita

There is a fifth dimension which has become known to many over the decades. Season 1 of "The Twilight Zone" on Blu-Ray begins the exploration of that middle ground between light and shadow and between science and superstition, including the show's informal "pilot", Desilu Playhouse's "The Time Element" featured inside this Blu-Ray set. With the choice of original or enhanced audio tracks, those who dare "Zone out" to these episodes can enjoy it with increased "techno-oomph"... or enjoy it as it was originally. So order, if you dare, and venture into this first season of a dimension of imagination that lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of our knowledge, that is now on the Blu-Ray section of... THE TWILIGHT ZONE!

This set is well packaged and is of very high quality audio and video. I play it on a big screen and the video quality is so good you can see every pore and bead of sweat on the actors' faces. Superior remastering. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the series. No special features on the DVD version but they are not needed because the shows are so good and have held up over time.

I bought all 5 seasons, one at a time and in order, from amazon.ca, which did offer them much cheaper than in stores. The price is lower now than what I paid!!!

The shows are great, the remastered picture and sound is good, and there's many special features. Season 1 even came with a book about the entire seasons, including reviews of every episode --- I enjoyed that.

The best seasons are 1, 2 and 3. Seasons 4 & 5 each have some great episodes, but fewer than the first 3 seasons. Season 4 had one-hour episodes (while the other seasons had half hour episodes) and it's the weakest season by far.

If you loved this show but aren't sure about spending the money, get the first 3 seasons only. If you want it all, get the definitive collection with all 5 seasons together and save a lot of money.

If you thought the dvd versions just kept getting better, you will be blown away by the bluray version. Audio and video quality is a step up from the already good Definitive dvd versions and the extras are even better - some episodes like "Walking Distance" now have 2 commentaries where there was nothing on the dvd version. This is Twilight Zone at its best. Any problems with it come from the fact that it is a 50 year old show but you won't see a lot of them. A great show presented it the best format possible right now.

Fantastic! There are many shaking episodes, some others are more light heartrd. Picture is impeccable and sound also ( in PCM 2M 16 bit). Also, we see many actors whose presence is surprising, like Patrick Macnee and others. My favorite episodes: THE HITCH-HIKER and THIRD FROM THE SUN. Be prepared for shome shock!

I have to give this blu ray set five stars because of the amazing picture quality. Its hard to belive this show is so old, in fact its so old it doesn't even have the traditional twilight zone music. Some of the episodes arent that great but you dont have to watch those episodes again. But the vast majority of the episodes are very good. I'm sure you come across an episode you only hazily remember from the twilight zone
