HASH(0x9c2d8a50) out of 5 stars Better than previous installments June 8 2011
By Mike C. - Published on Amazon.com

Unlike previous best of installments this one is more like a documentary of the year rather than just a compilation of complete fights. They do brief segments walking through the 2010 highlights of many fighters. It also includes over 30 complete fights.

HASH(0x9c2d8a14) out of 5 stars I like UFC again! June 16 2011

If any of you fans out there are feeling like I am lately and just a little disappointed with most Pay Per Views, this is a nice refreshment. It really picks all the most exciting fights of the year like Chris Leben and Akiyama and also segways lots of fights with brief recaps and reviews of significant things that happened during the year. There are also a ton of good fights on each bonus section of the DVD. Good stuff fight fans
HASH(0x9c2d8d08) out of 5 stars Great dvd worth the price! April 4 2011

I just received the Best of Ufc 2010 today and let me tell you it is amazing! It has great fights that have you jumping out of the seat even if you had already seen them before. The blu-ray quality looks great on my t.v. which makes me want to watch it even more. It does however have a lot of stories involved but in my opinion it helps you recap with what went down in 2010. I have family members that are not able to keep up with the ufc year round so this blu-ray will definitely help them get back on track with the who's who in ufc!

BOTTOM LINE: A MUST BUY FOR ANY UFC FAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HASH(0x9c2d8d68) out of 5 stars Good overall, but too many journeymen and vignette's to be a true best of. March 29 2011
By History Major - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
I will try to keep this review short and to the point.

The Good: First of all, it's always difficult to complain with "best of" discs, because you know that overall you are going to get a good selection of fights and plenty of stars for the price of a normal dvd. The UFC Best of 2010 definitely lives up to this at least, as it offers a nice selection of fights from the year 2010 (and there were plenty to choose from) and a good selection of full fights overall (23 total). Most of the stars are on display here including Jon Jones, Cain Velasquez, Brock Lesnar, Anderson Silva, Mauricio Rua, Randy Couture, Quinton Jackson, and even old Chuck Liddell. However, notice how I said MOST! There in lies the problem that easily keeps this supposed "best of 2010" from receiving the full 5 stars.

The Bad: This is not a true "best of." There's two out of the five current UFC champions who don't even have a full fight shown! How can you offer a true "best of" series when you don't include two of your champions!? That's right folks. No GSP and No Frankie Edgar! Travesty, I know. Instead, the UFC "explains" their greatness to you in short vingettes with highlight clips ala the Best of 2009 dvd. In this reviewer's opinion that is unacceptable, especially considering St. Pierre and Edgar were both involved in very exciting fights in the year 2010 against very game and able opponents.

The Ugly: The already mentioned vignettes are a waste of time in my opinion. I'd rather edit them all out for another full fight or two. It's not hard for a fan to look up information on the UFC to find out who the champs and contenders are. It's also not necessary for the UFC to explain EVERYTHING for the viewer. My second gripe is that the "best of" collection includes far too many journeyman fighters. Too many fights featuring The Lauzon brothers, Leben, Dan Hardy, Carlos Condit, and Akiyama. Guys who are good fighters but who are in all likely hood never going to challenge for the title and will be forgotten in the ever competitive, fast changing flow of the mixed martial arts world. Why include so many fights featuring journeymen, when two of the champions, who both had fights that were at LEAST as exciting as the above mentioned, were left out?

So in short, if your fan, purchase this. It's a nice addition and has plenty of good fights to keep you satisfied. But beware if you're looking for all the stars and performances from each. You will not get it. That was a major negative in this reviewer's opinion, but the product is too good overall for the price too rate lower than four stars. Keep that in mind.

Edit: If I had too I'd rate this about a 3.75. 4/5 looks a little too good. Again overall it is a good product, but some of the fights that were left out in favor of the journeymen fights and the time wasted in vignettes is just too glaring of a weakness, I had to drop it to 3 stars to lower the curve.
