3.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight easy-to-read trashy novel Dec 15 2012
By ThirstyBrooks - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Mass Market Paperback
For me the fun of this story was to be able to get on an airplane and read it without carrying a dictionary. The translator sticks to vocabulary noticeably easier to master than the vocabulary of the Harry Potter stories. It includes a few sarcastic words like "écoeurée" that are fun to learn. The plot centers on lies in the life of the protagonist. The reader knows what she's trying to hide and can decipher from context many of the reactions she gets. She's the heroine, but she's still a selfish kid aspiring to bigamy who lost track of her parents and missed her mom's funeral.

This would be a two-star junk book in English, but for those of us trying to (re)learn French it can be worthwhile as a speed builder.
