Would be 5 Stars if only not for this....(it should be a warning on the box) I think it was called "right angle 1/4 male to 1/4 female guitar cable" or something along those lines...You'll want to purchase one of these (in the pics I left) on Amazon as well, I got 2 for 10$ it'll save you in the long run. After alot of research into why these cables fail at such a high rate, I found out that it's not the cable but how we use the cable....while sitting and playing, the pressure of the cord against your lap will damage the cable and it'll make the connection bad or outright fail all together. Not a problem if you're standing and playing but of you're like 99% of us you'll sit and not even notice the pressure you're putting on the cable end. Hope this helps as it helped me, what's 10 bucks when a new cable is 70! And if you're one of the unfortunate ones that this has already happened to, it's an easy fix if you can solder and are handy with an exacto blade and some heat shrink or electrical tape!

This actually works for a lot of amp modelling programs like amplitube, helix, neuralDSP etc. Lots of these have free trials too so it's an extremly cheap way to get into both Rocksmith and guitar in general.

I ordered a couple of these cables to replace the older ones we were using for two consoles (Xbox and PS4) that had that had quit working. One cable worked great, but the other cable was making an extreme static noise when trying to use it. I contacted Amazon to see if I could get a replacement, and they put me in contact with the company that was selling them. I sent them an email explaining my problem, and their answer back was seeing that Amazon had supplied the cables to me, I would have to exchange it thru them instead. I ended up returning the one cable for a credit instead. Later, I did order another cable, which is working, but this time I ordered the extra warranty coverage in case it ends up not working. Overall, I’m happy with the cable, but I wasn’t impressed with the supplier to Amazon, but Amazon was great to deal with and very helpful.

I bought this cable to play Rocksmith 2014, which I purchased through Steam on my 2013 iMac running El Capitan. My guitar is an acoustic-electric which I expected would work with the cable based on others reviews I had read.
The cable appears to be high quality material that is quite flexible. It is also a nice length for playing in front of the computer with lots to spare.
I plugged in the cable to the guitar and computer, and I turned on the pickup on my guitar and was finding that the game wasn't registering any signal levels when I tried strumming. The product website suggested checking the audio input settings and the cable showed up as an audio input device, but again there was no signal registering. I turned off the pickup and I started getting a signal. So it seems the signal had been too hot and was picked up fine without being pre-amped. I was able to start playing the game with no problems.

Last time I ordered one it came in a smaller, less protected box, the cord lasted a day before breaking, This one I just bought has lasted so far, and is working great. A tip to keep the cord from breaking is to zip tie it or hang it from someplace to minimize the amount the connections move, the end of the cable where the guitar plugs in isn’t as fragile but I’m still being cautious.

Does what it says on the box, connects your guitar to your computer, for the game. It's FAR too expensive for what it is, and what it does... But I won't take stars off for bad price, the product itself is perfectly fine, but I would recommend looking for sales, or a used cable.
I've had other 1/4" cables that had buzzing and easily pulled the jack out of the shielding on the cable. This one has had no issues like that, and doesn't seem like it's going to start, pretty well made.
It's sort of short though, but for my personal setup, it's long enough so I won't knock stars off for that, but if you're reading this debating on buying it, keep in mind the size of the cable. I measured the cable (very roughly and quickly, so may be off a bit), since I don't see it listed on the product page at all... and it came in at 132 inches, or about 11 feet. Again, a rough measurement, and nowhere near exact.
A lot of people plug into the back of their PCs, and often times around or under desks as well, which can take away a large portion of your cable length, so be mindful of your personal set up and playing area when looking at this.
Can't speak for console users, as I'm not one. But I imagine the USB ports are on the front? So that problem isn't really any issue anymore. But may be wrong.
For pros and cons, there's no pros to speak of... It's a cable, it doesn't do anything special. You plug it in, and it sits there.
Cons however, it can be a bit short depending on your setup. That's about it.

Got this to see if it was more effective than the Direct Input mod that allows you to use your audio interface instead of a cable and it honestly makes the Rocksmith experience so much better.
Worth the money.
