Product Description

What would you do to inherit a million dollars? Would you be willing to change your life? Jason Stevens is about to find out in Jim Stovall's The Ultimate Gift.

Red Stevens has died, and the older members of his family receive their millions with greedy anticipation. But a different fate awaits young Jason, whom Stevens, his great-uncle, believes may be the last vestige of hope in the family.

"Although to date your life seems to be a sorry excuse for anything I would call promising, there does seem to be a spark of something in you that I hope we can fan into a flame. For that reason, I am not making you an instant millionaire."
What Stevens does give Jason leads to The Ultimate Gift. Young and old will take this timeless tale to heart.

Jim Stovall has been a national champion Olympic weightlifter, a successful investment broker and entrepreneur. Okay, it may not be the greatest piece of literature with a surprise ending, but it is one to re-read many times until the message becomes a lifetime task and perspective. What matters most in life is the relationships we develop, and the people we love become fellow travelers with us through life. We spend too much time in selfish pursuits and gaining things, but what is most important is that our lives become centered in the interests of others, and loving them more than ourselves. This book can be a tool in helping us in formulating a loving and caring worldview filled with compassion for others, and in the end having a feeling of a life well lived.

This book is interesting. I first started reading this book for SSR (sustained silent reading) in my English class. At first the book seemed kinda slow but that was just the introduction of the book, but the introduction is long. This book teaches you about stuff that you should hold on to, like money, relationships, family. I would suggest this book to 8th or 9th Grader. This book is about 140 pages long, for the Intermediate reader.

An interesting look at the everyday things that we have or do that are actually gifts. These things are exemplified as we participate vicariously in the hypothetical experience of a young person woven into a story. It was captivating enough to make me finish it in one sitting albeit hooked up to the wee hours of the morning.
Some of the narratives tie up things a little too nicely to be realistic but we, nevertheless, get the point. And the points are good indeed.

Enjoy the gifts of work, money, friends, learning, problems, family, laughter, dreams, giving, gratitude, a day and love while reading through this appealing story and journey into greatness. I'm glad that it starts with the gift of work and culminates with the gift of love. A person who only knows to love but not to work is hardly of much worth. The converse is equally true but is a good starting point for progress in the other areas. Eventually, love conquers all.

I enjoyed this book from start to finish. It sure gives you a lot to think about. I think everyone should read this book and try and do the 12 monthly challenges. If everyone tried even some of them this world would be a much better place. READ IT! 😃
