The world around you is in ruins. Sentinel robots have enslaved most of the United States and are set to stage a global war. The X-Men have failed; the few who survived this nightmarish future are imprisoned in Mutant Internment camps. But all is not lost, the battle for the future can be fought in the past. With one chance to re-write history, The X-Men must stop this war by preventing the assassination of Senator Kelly.

Recreate one of the most iconic stories from the X-Men universe, based on John Byrne and Chris Claremont's original comics and expanded to tell the whole story behind the nightmare that is the Sentinel Uprising. Journey through a post-apocalyptic New York City, Washington D.C., Savage Lands, Asteroid M and more.

Experience this exciting new adventure from Glitchsoft, the developer behind He-man: The Most Powerful Game in the Universe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent game! Aug. 19 2014

I've been waiting for this game since it was announced around the time the movie came out. I've read the reviews and had to take the plunge for myself. This game is a platformer, (think Mario bros.) not unlike the X-Men games from the Super Nintendo/Sega Genesis era. This game has great potential to be just as amazing. The only problems I've noticed are little, but can force you to restart a level. Such as the teleporter platforms taking you to a random place, (happened twice) sound completely cutting out for a few seconds (this happened regularly), attack buttons sometimes not responding, and invincible enemies. These are minor and seem to be fixable in the future (I know it seems minor, Kitty, but I'm helping you save the world too.) The game has only crashed on me once in two days, I've played all the way to the Savage Land.

My personal issues I would like to see improve on are the buttons. I think it would help if they were raised up on the screen a little. (But I'll live) this game would be gorgeous but I've noticed the graphics seem like the Characters are blurry. I would also like to see the D-pad seem more responsive. The ability to duck would be cool too. I've also noticed that the Characters seem to jump like they are on the moon. I would like for the movements to be quicker. Also it would be cool to see improvements for some of the Characters running animation (Colossus). I also noticed some drops in the frame rate here and there. That's all the things I'd like to have improved.

Overall this game is one of my favorites on my Kindle Fire HDX and don't let my review fool you, these issues are MINOR. There are plenty of X-Men to choose from, some of which have never been playable before this game. I'd like to see more added. You can never have enough X-Men in a game! I'm also happy that this game is one of the few that seem to not have any in-app purchasing. The description says it does, but I think they eliminated it! ALL the X-Men in the game are unlocked after level 3 and can be switched out mid level (very useful). Last but not least this game would be downright perfect with a Danger Room mode that can be used for gaining points for upgrading X-Men, combat training, and have a survival mode option. How cool would that be to fight in the danger room and have holographic simulator levels (a la X-Men for the Sega Genesis!)

Closing up this review I just want to thank the developers for this game. I've told my wife I'd like to see some old X-Men games available for my Kindle and you exceeded my expectations. I not only get an X-Men game in that style, it also feels like an improvement and dare I say sequel to the games I loved when I was young. Keep the content coming. And thank you again for this game.

If you can manage to get past the download screen (I cant, it's hit 100% three times and just restarts to 0%) it sounds like it just closes itself out after a few minutes of play. Wasted money I guess...

Game hangs during the initial installation. After the progress bar fills up slightly more than halfway, the game hangs then force closes. Have tried deleting and reinstalling 5 times. Big disappointment!
