Product Description

Love, sacrifice, and the lengths one will run--and chase--when their past threatens their future. This bundled box set contains both books in Caine & Addison's bestselling duet (Bk 1: Before That Night & Bk 2: Every Night Without You).

Before that night, Addison Milan had been just a college dropout secretly raising her two young siblings in a beat-up minivan she'd bought with her first semester's tuition refund--the only money her addict mother hadn't taken off with when she'd abandoned them nearly two years ago.

Before that night, Caine Spencer had been just a rough, gruff cop sent to check out the phoned-in claims of suspected child neglect involving the same woman he'd met just months prior when she'd first served him the city's worst diner coffee...which he'd been drinking daily ever since.

Before that night, Addison would never have thought the man she'd been fighting hard not to fall for--her only friend in her new shadow of a life--would be in a position to rip her family apart.

Before that night, Caine would never have believed any woman could make him fall head over heels, let alone make him feel so damn compelled to look the other way when it came to his job.

Then that one perfect night changed everything.

Seven years.

Seven damn years of wondering whether the woman was still alive...whether she'd spent the last two thousand five hundred fifty-five days wondering if he was still alive.

Wondering whether that night was as burned into her memory as it was his.

Seven years having his heart tethered to Addison and now she's back. With even more reasons to run than she'd had then.

Only this time, Caine isn't letting the gorgeous little flight risk out of his sight.

Regardless of how noble her reasons may be.

Note: Each of the 4 couples in the UNFINISHED LOVE series have 2 books (duets) w/ separate storylines that take place years apart. This is Caine & Addison's complete duet.

Caine and Addison are perfect for each other, they both love with their whole hearts, care for kids, love their families, and get through the bad stuff.

It took 7 years and the Spencer boys, Alec and 1 Spencer girl to track and eventually solve the stalker mystery.

This book is funny, has a little touch of erotica (could use a little more best though) and has beautiful characters.

The boys are gentlemen, funny and lovingly pick on each other especially Caine.

The only place this book fell a little short on was the final chapter. It cut too quickly to the epilogue.

I wanted to see what happened to Lara, the wedding, Alec, Marco, Tanner and Kaylie.

The epilogue was sweet though. I hope that future books in this series update us on Addison and Caine.

I also hope we get to see the love stories of Our only original Spencer girl, Tanner and Kaylie.

Trying to figure out, is Drew and Tanner close in age? That's my theory.

Cannot wait to read about Drew, Gabe and Max that I know are set to release.

Great exciting read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Before this Night outshone Every Night Without You April 27 2017

Before that Night ~ 4 stars
After reading the synopsis of Before that Night I knew Addison’s story was going to be heartbreaking. I did, however, underestimate just how awful her life before her mother had abandoned her and her siblings. That Addison didn’t let the pain of her past damage her brightness was lovely, the way she protected her siblings from feeling that same type of hurt, to the best of her abilities, was miraculous.
Caine was such a great contrast to Addison. While he’d had an idyllic childhood, he’d let the things he’d experienced in his adulthood start to harden him. The juxtaposition of the two was a fabulous illustration of how your attitude can profoundly affect the way things out of your own control shapes you. Even in the darkest moments of her life Addison found the light, so she could provide a better life for her brother and sister, while Caine brought the darkness he’d encountered with him and let it temper every thought he had.
Before that Night dealt with incredibly heavy issues, but never felt weighty in the way other books that cover the same topics often do. The inherent brightness that Addison colored her world with allowed the book a levity that was refreshing when encountering such awful situations. Her love and hope gave such an innocent feeling to the book it was hard to imagine that she’d lived the life she had, until the moments her fear crept in and gave us a glimpse of the horrors she’d survived.
Violet Duke was a new to me author when I started Before this Night and I found myself greatly enjoying every moment I spent with the characters she created.

Every Night without You ~ 3 stars
I wanted to love this book as much as I did Before that Night but, for me, it just didn’t quite live up to my expectations. While I did find myself clamoring to find out what was going to happen to Addison, Caine, and the kids, I didn’t feel the same type of commitment to their happiness in this book.
The chemistry that I felt between Caine and Addison in Before this Night seemed to be tempered in Every Night, like the years that had passed had cooled their connection. While I didn’t doubt they loved each other deeply, I wasn’t as consumed by the moments they were together. There was also some unnecessary tension caused by decisions that made little sense to me, I honestly couldn’t understand why they’d done some of the things they had in relation to not being together. I did very much enjoy watching them begin to rebuild their family, especially when Caine was unwaveringly supportive of the kids he had no familial ties to.
I loved the push and pull of the new relationships that were developed in this book, particularly the ones involving Alec. He was one of the brightest parts of this book, he was equal parts humor and intensity and I found myself wondering more about him than just about anyone else in the book. I hope to see more of him in future works in this series, I can only begin to imagine his history and the type of person who would be his match.
Much like the bizarre decisions Addison and Caine made in the beginning of this book concerning the relationship, I felt the climax of this book held some of the same strange decisions. By the time I’d finished the epilogue I was very confused as to why the book had ended like it had. I feel like I missed chunks of the story and was not completely satisfied with the end of Caine and Addison’s story.
While Every Night without You was not the best book I’ve read recently, I will continue with this series. I have too many question, too much interest in the other characters – particularly Alec – to leave them now. And perhaps that is why Every Night ended like it did, to give me something to wonder about, some reason to come back and read the other books, so I can satiate my curiosity about why Caine and Addison’s story ended the way it did.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read! April 24 2017

Unfinished Night-The Complete Duet is the first 2 books in the Unfinished Love Series. These were previously released as separate books. I loved that I got to re-read these books.

Addison is going to great lengths to raise her brother, Tanner and sister, Kylie. She has been single handly raising them their whole life. I admire her character so much. She's strong, independent and a very warm person. Life has dealt her some hard knocks and she's meeting them straight on.

Through her waitress job she meets cop, Caine. He's not looking for a relationship but there is just something that keeps drawing him to Addison. He not only connects with her, he also connects with her siblings.

Caine will protect Addison at all cost and because of that Addison makes a hard decision. I was devastated.

In book 2, it's 7 years later and they reconnect by chance. There's never been anyone else for either one of them.

Because danger still exists they are trying to be just friends.

The deep feelings these two have for each other throws that 'just' friends right out the window.

Danger catches up with them trying to destroy any future they have.

This series is amazing! I have a rule of thumb....if Violet Duke writes it, I'm reading it! Absolutely love her writing style!

5.0 out of 5 stars ... That Night is the first book in the Unfinished Love series. Violet is a new author to me ... April 24 2017

Before That Night -
Before That Night is the first book in the Unfinished Love series. Violet is a new author to me and I am glad I got the opportunity to read her work. I don't want to give anything away so if the blurb catches your attention than grab a copy of Before That Night or since both books are out now, you should buy the set. Before That Night does end in a cliffhanger. This is just the beginning of Cain and Addison's story. You'll definitely be on an emotional rollercoaster ride.

Every Night Without You-
Every Night Without You is the conclusion of Cain and Addison's journey. This book is my favorite so far. My heartached and I fell more in love with the characters. You'll want to read Before That Night book first. This book held more of a mystery and parts that I never saw coming. I absolutely loved that banter between the guys. My favorite scene is in Addison's apartment with all the guys and then her sister walks in. *No spoilers* I was laughing so hard I was crying. I didn't want Cain and Addison's story to end. I can't wait to read more of the Unfinished Love series.

5.0 out of 5 stars These books are amazing!! April 24 2017

These books are amazing!! I've laughed, cried, smiled, had my heart hurt for and with these characters.
Addison is so strong and has so much love to give. She has singlehandedly changed her brother and sister's lives for the better just by being there for them, but it's so much more than that and she gives them so much love.
Cain and Addison meet at the diner where Addison works and it was so fun to watch their relationship progress. I absolutely love the notes they pass back and forth without anyone knowing.
Cain is such a great guy that wants to be a part of their lives and would do anything for Addison and her brother and sister. He is also a police officer that takes his job and his oath very seriously.
The struggles and victories they have to endure as a couple brought me to tears many times while reading this.
I highly recommend this book to anyone! It's a definite must read!

5.0 out of 5 stars suspenseful, good storyline and characters! June 24 2017

I have already reviewed book one and now will review book 2. I absolutely love Addison! She is such a strong and loving character giving her life over to raising her younger brother and sister due to her mother is into drugs and finally just leaves them. This all happened in book 1. In book 1 she also met Caine, a cop, and they fall in love. However, to protect him she takes off and now it is seven years later. I don't do spoilers but will say that both have given up a lot for each other and finding each other again with all its possibilities in front of them will still cause issues due to David, her stalker. But no matter what the love is still there. This is a love that could stand the test of time, how is that for a cheesy quote, and seven years apart is a long time. Lots of suspense along the way and at times could not put the book down. This is one story, 2 books and I read them back to back. The storyline, character depth and likeability of Caine and Addison is why I highly recommend these books.
