Product Description

From Publishers Weekly

This is a comprehensive and intelligent success achievement program for setting and following through with personal and professional goals by the California behaviorist who popularized the method of "neurolinguistic programming" (NLP), or control of mind over body, culminating in his trainees' barefoot jaunt over hot coals. Essential to Robbins's "Ultimate Success Formula" are clarity of desired goals, energy, passion, persistence of action, effective communication skills and altruistic motives. His is a success prescription based on realistic and sophisticated ideology, best suited for those who have already "got what it takes" and simply have yet to make it happen.

From Library Journal

Robbins argues that by using a new technique called neurolinguistic programming (NLP) anyone can become successful at almost anything. NLP teaches us how to communicate success to ourselves. One of the best ways to do this is to model ourselves on people who are successful: Think, act, and speak like a success and you are on the way to being one. Despite much helpful material (even regarding nutrition), this book scarcely acknowledges the limitations that exist in people's lives. Of course, the whole thrust of NLP is to learn to focus on one's power and not on one's limits. But the text is too wordyit reads like a transcript of a series of talksand it also needs more structure and organization. Though it strives to be upbeat and encouraging, Unlimited Power still leaves mixed feelings. John Moryl, Yeshiva Univ. Lib., New York

Feeling down, stuck in a dead end job or just think you have more to give? Well you have found the right book.
Chapter 10 covers changing your diet to improve performance. I tell you it works. I started on it 18 months ago and I am a different person. I am brighter, sharper, more alive, better at my work....I could go on all day but I think you get the idea.
I have learnt over these last months that in order to succeed over a long period of time, you require superb energy levels and good mental health. The fuel for this comes from a good diet. Don't believe me, try it for yourself, what have you got to lose? I suspect that within 10 days you will notice a change in well being and performance levels.
You may be surprised at what he says is good and bad for you. It certainly goes against conventional attitudes you hear from most doctors, health professionals and food companies. Before I was blind and now I can see.
Another book worth buying is Fit for Life by Harvey and Marilyn Diamond, which goes into more detail on the subject.

This 60 minute tape by Anthony Robbins provides an exellent overview of Robbin's first book Unlimited Power. Robbins covers many of the NLP techniques that has helped so many achieve greatness.
The book of course has a lot more meat and this tape is not to confused with Robbins 6 tape audio set published by Nightingale-Conant or Robbins 30 day personal power program.
I recommend this tape because it helps tie together the concepts in Unlimited Power. In fact, I recommend that you play it every day for the first week as a supplement to Robbins other material. You will see a big difference.

This was the first audio tape of Tony that I bought. Well, the way Tony gives seminar is really admirable- he's really energetic, funny, congruent, and he gets his points across effectively. Most of the section is recorded from his real seminar, and it's great! However this version is a little bit too short, maybe it's Simon & Shcuster's fault cos they always release such short audios. There's another version of Unlimited Power, it has 6 cassettes, it;s a fuller versions with lots of NLP skills. That version is released by Nightangale-Conant if I'm not mistaken. I listen to that 6 tape sets every now and then. The format is very similar to this tape, with Tony in studio and seminars teaching you the skills, but this version is only about 50 mins long.

This review was written for Awaken the Giant Within. Much of it applies to this book also:
There are some good guiding principles here.
I did all the Tony Robbins stuff for years. The tapes, books-all of it. I was one of the unfortunate ones that got hooked. Instead of just bashing Mr. Robbins, I will write a clear, well detailed review of SOME of the huge flaws in his little money making system so that those major fans who will of course disagree with me, will at least read this and at some point will hopefully "see the light". Unfortunately, in this short review I can't explain things in great detail. Some of you will get what I'm saying though. Please read this carefully and think about what I am saying-scientifically--Please.
-Let's start with the mindset of these books. He promotes a super achiever kind of hyper-doer attitude. I would instead opt for being at peace with myself--HERE & NOW. Learning to BE. Not just be a doer. Does that mean being complacent? NO! It means you can set goals but it has nothing to do with your self-acceptance and daily joy.
-He uses this Pain/Pleasure principal to motivate you. That is a highly flawed system. It is based on causing stress on yourself and motivating you through discomfort. Has anyone stopped to think that one can achieve goals through peace and discipline. It's not motivation through pain/pleasure we need, it's learning to deal with our AVERSION to discomfort that holds many of us back. Facing that with persevearance and wisdom is the only way to deal with that-not gimmicky NAC.
-It is wrong to create MUSTS as he teaches. That causes people to be stressed out and to be attatched and anxious to things. You cannot DEMAND change of yourself.

Awaken the Giant Within was #1. Everyone is saying they don't agree with the nutrutional ideas of Robbins, yet why are they the same people who never tried them yet. If all his self help ideas were the same as everyone else he wouldn't be Anthony Robbins, he'd be just another self help person with average results. If you want results like Anthony you've got to model success completely. Try it and see how you feel. Overall his books got me into the self help/NLP field, thanks again Anthony.

Tony Robbins teaches us how to set our goals, develop our action plans and behave as if we already achieved what we want. Fears and phobias are pushed away. When my friend did the firewalk described in this book, I asked her why she did it. Her answer was because she wanted to prove to herself that she could Now, when she is faced with a challenge, she knows she is about to succeed. Tony Robbins says that success is habit forming. I have recently come across another book that has the same lessons for business, "The 2,000 Percent Solution" by Donald Mitchell, Carol Coles and Robert Metz. Bad habits, or "stalls", keep us from succeeding. These "stalls" are caused by poor Communications (the message is not understood), Disbelief (We can't do it), Tradition (We've always done it this way), Bureaucracy (too many unproductive policies and procedures), Misconception (based on poor assumptions), Unattractiveness (Not wanting to wade in murky waters) and Procrastination (We can do it tomorrow, and maybe it will get better before then). Just as Mr. Robbins teaches new behaviors to make personal bad habits evaporate, "The 2,000 Percent Solution" teaches a process to hurdle over the "stalls", develop good habits and create much more rapid success than was believed possible. "Unlimited Power" gives an individual the energy of the sun with the rays focused in the right direction. "The 2.000 Percent Solution" gives organizations the take-off of the rocket ship to boost them to attain 20 times the benefits, or get there 20 times as fast. Read both books, and then read them again.
