I was looking forward to this one, especially after finishing Falling Sky. Liam's story seemed so mysterious...

While I was reading this, I spent half my time wondering how Liam and Cerys were going to get together...and the other half hoping Craig wouldn't do what he did. I'll give you no spoilers, but I will say he's a colossal d*ckhead. How anyone could do that defies belief.

Ms Swallow has once again written a brilliant, compelling story set in a rock star's world...while spinning a heartbreaking tale about love and mistakes and losing your a hurt heart learns to love again.

And here I thought I couldn't love another Blue Phoenix member as much as I loved Dylan ... how wrong I was. Liam is probably the man of my dreams. His love and heart is so big that I envied Cerys, but they were right for each other. I'll get over it one day. But the story had me hooked and on edge, I was emotionally exhausted by the end of the book. So lovely! Can't wait to get to know Bryn more after this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Poor Liam! May 25 2016

First off why are there no sexy gingers as leading men in novels? Liam was H.O.T
When we first met Liam it was in Dylan & Sky's story, Liam was with Honey (I had some serious Honey Boo Boo flash backs everytime her name is mentioned) Our story begins with Liam actually thinking of marrying the god awful gold digger! Poor Liam!!! Around Christmas time pics leak of Honey with another man, So Liam goes home to have a Welsh Christmas with his family, when he gets home he discovers a family friend and her daughter living there with his family.
Cerys and her daughter Ella are thrown out of their home by her boyfriend and Ella's dad Craig (aka the douche bag) Sparks start to fly between Cerys and Liam, and Liam is just amazing with Ella. Something happens that calls Liam away (band business) Liam doesn't want to leave but he has no choice. The the jerk shows up and convinces Cerys to being Ella home with promises of change. Flash forward, Liam actually attempts to marry Honey, coming to his senses and leaving her the day of the wedding (totally loved this part) and finally wakes up to realize his heart belongs with Cerys and Ella. Rushing back home to Cerys and Ella, Craig causes so much drama for them and pulls one stunt that I am shocked that Liam didn't kill him for. The guys in the band make a couple appearances in the story, some awesome news about Dylan and Sky, and it seems that Jem might actually be sober???? and I swear Bryn is hiding something :)
5.0 out of 5 stars Unplugged is an amazing story. Jan. 5 2015

In book 3 of The Blue Phoenix series you finally get to hear about Liam. In the previous books there is a glimpse into his life, but this goes much deeper.

After finding pictures of his fiance with another man, Liam heads home for a quiet holiday with his family. With the intent of of returning to a simple life, Liam plans on surprising his family by returning home, only to find his room is being occupied by his sister's best friend and her little girl.

It does not take long for that little girl or her mother Cerys to creep their way into Liam's thoughts and heart.

There are many trials and tribulations that come with the rock star lifestyle and in the book Liam and Cerys are put to the test.

This book is a great continuation of the Blue Phoenix series and well worth the read!
5.0 out of 5 stars Liam's story will keep you on the edge of your seat and loving that man even more! Feb. 7 2015

Unplugged is the 3rd installment in "The Blue Phoenix" Series by Lisa Swallow, and though it does not follow the lives of Sky and Dylan as book 1 (Summer Sky) and book 2 (Falling Sky) it still follows the life of one of the Blue Phoenix Band members, Blue Phoenix bass player, Liam Oliver. Liam is more laid back and tries to stay out of the limelight, but that is not easy to do when he is engaged to marry up and coming actress Honey. Taking a break from both the band and Honey, Liam returns to his family home at Christmas time, but things don't go as planned as he is met with some interesting twists and turns. One being that of Cerys Edwards, best friend to Liam's kid sister. Cerys has also had a thing for Liam, stretching back before Blue Phoenix became as big as they are now, but Cerys past, as well as her present state, is a complicated one. With Christmas in the air things start to heat up between Liam and Cerys, leaving the reader on the edge of their seats waiting for that oh so juiciness that Lisa always like to give her readers. But just as things start to go in a positive direction between Liam and Cerys, things go wrong and Liam is tossed back in to the issues that are threatening the Blue Phoenix band, and while he is dealing with that Cerys has her own problems to deal with, one being her daughters father.
And if that suspense and lust of the lives of Cerys and Liam wasn't enough, this book is told in two different point of views, both Liam's and Cerys. This is what I as a reader love the most! Seeing the two different POVs is one of the best things any author could give their readers, as it allows the readers to experience what the two main characters are seeing and feeling throughout the entire book! I highly recommend this book to anyone who has both read and not read the first two books of "The Blue Phoenix" series, as this book can be read as a stand alone, but reading all the books from the beginning will give you, the reader, a better understanding of how the balancing act of being a Rock Star and having a personal life isn't a easy one.
5.0 out of 5 stars The boys from Blue Phoenix just keep getting better and better! Dec 6 2014

The more Blue Phoenix books I read, the more I love them. This book is about the relatively quiet bass player of Blue Phoenix, and his story was very briefly introduced in Falling Sky. It's not necessary to read Summer Sky and Falling Sky first, but I very highly recommend you do - it's definitely worth your time!!!!!
He's engaged to Honey, but discovers pictures of her kissing another man. She's also insecure and clingy, leaving Liam to question everything about their relationship.
When he arrives home for Christmas in his welsh hometown, he finds his room inhabited by Cerys and her engaging young daughter, Ellie, temporarily homeless because Cerys' controlling husband kicked them out of the family home. Cerys is his younger sister's childhood best friend,
and who also had posters of Liam and Blue Phoenix on her bedroom wall.
In only a few days, a connection between Liam and Cerys is made, and, most importantly, Liam appreciates that Cerys and Ellie come together as a package, one that he would love to be a part of. Unfortunately, nothing is ever that easy, and as Liam heads back to the band after Christmas, he hears from his sister that Cerys has gone back to her husband. Despondent, Liam is back with Honey and the production that is their wedding forges ahead with Liam watching horrified at the sidelines like someone watching a train wreck about to happen.
Lisa writes a beautiful story that includes humour, and the very real situation that affects separated parents fighting over their child with very different personal agendas, love for that child vs. control. Throughout all of this, we see the possible outline of Jem's story with a very vunerable yet feisty Ruby and I just can't wait for it to be released.
5.0 out of 5 stars Five stars for UNPLUGGED! Dec 3 2014

When I started to read unplugged I was already sucked into the Blue Phoenix series, thanks to Dylan and Sky. I almost didn't want to fall in love with Liam's story because I felt like I was cheating on Dylan, but needless to say I did fall in love.

Unplugged is all about Liam and an old friend. If you've read the series you know that Liam is the bassist for Blue Phoenix and that he recently called off his wedding to Honey (the rockstar loving barbie-doll who was probably just after him for his money.) Why did he do it do? Did he do it for another woman? Was it because he was sick of being "too nice? You've got to read this to find out! I promise you wont be disappointed.

Sometimes you have to escape to your past to find yourself and in this case to find the person you are meant to be. If you love a sweet ginger rockstar, you will love this! Not all rockstars are badasses but they all have hearts. You want to read unplugged because it's different then the typical "rockstar bad boy turned good guy" now don't take that as there is no drama and testing the relationship because there is!
