Product Description

A sensitive wolf shifter and a vicious vampire challenge history, greed, and the very fabric of their beings in order to stay together until forever comes. Plagued by pain and weakness all his life, Ethan Abbatt is a wolf shifter who can’t shift. Hoping to find an honorable death by joining his pack mates in a vampire attack, Ethan instead learns two things: draining his blood releases his pain and his wolf, and he has a true mate - a vampire named Miguel.

Over four centuries old, strong, powerful, and vicious, Miguel Rodriguez walks through life as a shadow, without happiness or affection. When a young shifter tells Miguel they’re true mates, destined to be together, Miguel sends him away. But Ethan is persistent and being together comes so naturally that Miguel can’t resist for long. The challenge is keeping themselves alive so they can stay by each other’s side until forever comes.

HASH(0x9d973648) out of 5 stars I found myself liking this one more than I expected. May 21 2013

I was intrigued by Ethan and Miguel from Wake Me Up Inside (The Mates Series) and am glad the writer has given us their story which in fact is a prequel. As I was expecting a lot of sex from this writer, I found myself pleasantly surprised that the sex scenes are reined in somewhat. At least the sex scenes are shorter which I always prefer. I found myself enjoying this one more than I expected.

I certainly like both Ethan and Miguel, especially how they met and came together. The mate thing is the usual but that has always been the "sacred theme" in shifter stories. The mate bond between a vampire and a wolf shifter is nothing new but it is still a nice touch here especially when they influenced one another in more ways than expected. I always have a thing for a pure alpha hunk and his little mate and here Miguel is not only alpha but also a "badass-alpha-vampire", who most of the time killed without remorse. Young Ethan could be a bit helpless at times but Ethan has courage when he chose to follow his heart, after living such a shelterd life with his pack. The story line could have been more thoroughly explored especially the hatred between vampires and wolf shifters. But the plot did keep me interested and I like that Miguel's coven was so different from the packs.

The country bumpkin way of speaking did not bother me as it was the writer's way to highlight the backwardness of the packs. I am also not bothered by the country bumpkin vesus proper English inconsistencies in the their speeches and thoughts. Maybe it was hard to believe that the packs were so ignorant of their surroundings. On the other hand if the packs felt themselves superior to both humans and vampires, they could just be blind to humans progress. Certainly the plot is not fool proof but both plot and main characters are enjoyable.

2.5 stars but in respect for the prior book I'm giving it a 3 star rating.

Its not that its a bad book, in fact its fairly decent in terms of shapeshifter books. However, after reading this book I want to say either the author didn't write the first book or didn't write this one. The writing style is just so different, and not that this books was terrible the prior book was just so well written this one was a HUGE let down.

It took me longer to read this one, simply because it bored me. I purchased this in the hopes of reading one so emotionally involving as the first of the series (though it is technically the sequel to this one) and what I got was almost your typical m/m shifter book out there today. There are so many of those that this one just fades in place of the outstanding ones that shine amongst the crowd.

Again its a decent read, and if you didn't read the first book read this one first. So that you can be pleasantly surprised with the sequel instead of disappointed in this one.

The two MCs lack much depth, and the side characters are very flat. About the only character that had much spark to it was Katie (Miguel's "niece"). The story follows the usual plot lines of meet/mate/love/something dangerous happens/happy ending. The author did do a fair job of allowing the characters to be versatile in bed and make it feel natural. There were a tad to many sex scenes, or maybe it was just that they felt mostly stock image. (cause I usually love my naughty scenes)

The cover of the book is pretty.

HASH(0xa357e2dc) out of 5 stars It's Heartwarming, Fun & Smokin' Hot!!! May 20 2013

Until Forever Comes is the second book in the Mates series, but as with all Cardeno series', they can be read out of publishing date order. (Wake Me Up Inside is another fantastic story that I highly recommend)

I trust this author, so I dived in without much more than a glance at the blurb - and fell in love. Ethan is wonderful. He's the runt, got a list of issues, yet he carries himself with a strength of character, pride and a determination that's inspiring, but it's his wit and charm that captivate. Some of the things he says and thinks had me cracking up. He's a simple guy, with simple needs... Miguel, his mate. Miguel is the big bad vamp who's actually not so bad. Watching them come to care and cherish one another is heartwarming. Their chemistry is blistering hot and absolutely fantastic! This book is an amazing read with the perfect balance of sweet and sexy. It's going right to my comfort-food shelf and favorite's folder. Highly recommended.
HASH(0x9d973a80) out of 5 stars Riveting page turner July 8 2013

Format: Paperback
Can a vampire and a shifter, supposedly mortal enemies, become each other's soul mate and savior?

Ethan Abbatt is a wolf shifter and the weakest link in his pack. He is unable to shift, and fears his days are numbered. Discovering that his true mate is a vampire is earth shattering, but Ethan is determined to make the best of it.

Miguel Rodriguez is one of the strongest vampires around and has no idea why a shifter, who originally tried to attack the vampires, is now so determined to stay by his side. As they work through developing their own relationship, they also have to deal with vampire and pack bias.

Ethan is such a lovely character. He's a bit insecure after spending his life unable to shift, making him an outcast in his pack. However, he had the unconditional love of his family, especially his sister, allowing him to value himself and making him determined to hold unto his mate after finding him.

Miguel is extremely old, powerful, and smart. He is on the verge of going feral since he can't seem to feed enough to satisfy his hunger. Since a shifter's blood is poisonous to a vampire, Miguel is shocked that he can not only feed from Ethan, but actually feels better afterwards.

Once Ethan and Miguel accept their mating, the amazing steamy sex scenes happen fast and frequently. They also spend a lot of time talking, helping the pack, and dealing with the other vampires who aren't fans of shifters.

It was absolutely adorable how jealous and protective each of these men were of the other. The epilogue was perfect, answering some questions from the first story and giving us a solid feeling of forever for Ethan and Miguel.

You can't go wrong with this riveting page turner with true love, a suspenseful plot, wonderful dialogue, vampires, shifters, and steamy hot sex. I couldn't put it down, and I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!

HASH(0x9d973c30) out of 5 stars both kindle and audio review here. Aug. 18 2015

Independent reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors That Rock.

This is an updated review after READING this book, I originally LISTENED to it in July 2014.

Ethan is a wolf, a shifter. But he can't shift and has been suffering with a too full feeling all his life. Miguel is a 400 year old vampire.

When the two meet, Ethan makes the connection first, Miguel takes time, but once he does, the two men are inseparable. The future of Ethan's pack becomes uncertain, but Miguel has a solution. It just depends whether the shifters will let the soulless one help.

I originally listened to this book, and as I was reading I could hear Charlie David, and the voices of the characters. Ethan is young, just 20, and he has been sheltered. Miguel is 400 years old, a wise one. They make an unseemly match, but a match they are. Miguel needs blood, and Ethan has too much! I loved the banter between these two, it made for some amusing moments, not least, the one with Katie, Miguel and Ethan talking about life threads!

It follows a solid CC track, no major break ups/make ups. Lots of passion and heat, but drama and action too. I loved it!

4.5 stars

What did you like most about Until Forever Comes?

Until Forever Comes introduces us to Ethan and Miguel, a wolf and a vampire, who appear towards the end of Wake Me Up Inside. This is their story and its told very differently to that book. That book is written in the third person, and this one, first person, specifically, from Ethan's point of view and ONLY Ethan's.

What other book might you compare Until Forever Comes to, and why?

any book, that deals with M/M, humans or paranormals. Cardeno C has a way with words, and Charlie David tells a story in a way that makes you wanna listen all the day long. Well I do, anyway!

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Katie, Ethan and Miguel, talking about life threads, and bonding, while Ethan and Miguel are still joined. talk about laughing out loud!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

when Miguel says to Ethan, Until Forever Comes. LOVED that bit!

Any additional comments?

fabulous book, thank you! not much else to say. I will look into getting these as ebooks too.

Ive used the guided review thingie from Audible for this. will do so for the rest of my reiews for audio books.
