A Conspiracy. A cover-up. And a whistle-blower who knows too much. You think you know who to trust? You're wrong. And the truth may kill you...Untouchable is a chillingly dark No 1 Bestseller and a 2017 International Thriller Writers Award Finalist.

~~ Inspired by real UK police investigations, this book contains scenes which some readers may find disturbing ~~

It's Maya and Jamie's anniversary, and she waits with excitement for him to return home for a celebratory dinner. There's a knock at the door. It's the police. Jamie has been found hanging in a local wood.

His death is ruled a suicide, but Maya doesn't believe Jamie would take his own life. Something isn't right. Someone has broken into her house. Someone is watching her. And someone has gone to great lengths to cover up what Jamie was doing before he died.

Maya's grief turns to suspicion, and as she begins to investigate the weeks leading up to Jamie's death, her trail leads her to a place known as "The Big House" and the horrific secrets within. Secrets people will stop at nothing to keep hidden. People linked to the heart of the Establishment who think they're untouchable.

Now Maya has a dangerous decision to make. How far is she prepared to go to reveal the truth?

The other reviewers were right, you cannot put this book down. The characters are engaging and you feel that you are right there with them. It is the first fictionalized book I have seen on this topic. I now know more about this incredibly important issue. A wonderful suspense story. Thank you.

UNTOUCHABLE by Sibel Hodge, the bestselling author of LOOK BEHIND YOU, is an amazing dark psychological thriller that will grip you totally from beginning until the end, stirring up every emotion along the way. This book contains scenes which some readers may find disturbing…but needs to be told.

Sibel Hodge has taken on a horrifying subject matter, one of child-abuse and brought it to the forefront. I recognize that this must have been a very difficult book to write, but must have been one that she felt needed more exposure, to raise the awareness and give survivors a voice. This is not light reading, but it is a well-written story that needs to be told.

“It's Maya and Jamie's anniversary, and she waits with excitement for him to return home for a celebratory dinner. There's a knock at the door. It's the police. Jamie has been found hanging in a local wood.”

“No. They’re wrong! It’s not Jamie. It’s not! It can’t be.”

“His death is ruled a suicide, but Maya doesn't believe Jamie would take his own life. Something isn't right. Someone has broken into her house. Someone is watching her. And someone has gone to great lengths to cover up what Jamie was doing before he died.”

The POV alternates between Maya and Jamie, and we then follow Jamie giving us background information on, how they met, his hopes and fears and plans for the future.

Jamie had been keeping secrets right from the beginning from Maya. He was afraid that if he told her, she would leave him.

But Maya’s grief soon changes to suspicion, and she begins to investigate the time leading up to Jamie’s death. She is determined to find out the truth…but at what cost? She puts her own life in danger. She doesn’t know who she can trust!

I read Sibel Hodge's Look Behind You when it came out a couple of years ago and loved it. So when I was offered a copy of Untouchable, I jumped at the chance to read it!

The first two chapters left me stunned! And I had a lump in my throat half way through chapter 3!! Boy what a start!!

By the end I was traumatised, spent half my reading with my hand over my mouth. Jamie's story is horrific, reminds me of the story in Lorenzo Carcaterra's Sleepers; a lot of the abuse is left to your own imagination. Then Maya's desperate urge to find out what had caused Jamie to commit suicide.

This is another book with a very topical and sensitive subject. Yet again, the author has handled it in a fantastic and sensitive way. I could see the influence of the current police investigations in the author's writing; the highly publicised Operation Yewtree springs to mind. It's not the most comfortable of reads but very well written and grabbed my attention from beginning to end.

Many thanks to Sibel Hodge and CrimeBookJunkie Book Blog for giving me this ebook in return for my unbiased review.

One word sums up this book WOW!! This brooding well paced drama kept me on the edge of my seat and glued me to it's pages. It really is a disturbing subject but masterly done with this authors skilled account of the why and the how. Such a nail biter with lots of background details that give credence to this well done tale of cruelty to the ones who should be protected. I just couldn't put it down as the plot thickened and more revelations crept across the pages. I remember the real life drama that was in the newspapers which I think this story mimics to a degree. Such a travesty of injustice of people in high places using their power over the less fortunate. The price these innocents paid was everything and should never happen in our educated society. I am glad this author had the stomach to write and highlight this awful disease and hopefully in the future it can be prevented.......
