EMERGENCY LOCKING The G-Sensor (Gravity-Sensor) activates Emergency Recording mode when it senses rapid vehicle motion based on acceleration, intensity and direction. In the event of a sudden or significant motion (brake or collision), footage will be locked to the microSD card to avoid being overwritten. Emergency locking can also be engaged by pushing the red "emergency button" on the camera itself-- if it's safe to do so!


EXTERNAL GPS The external GPS module will record and timestamp your vehicle's speed and location for any given time. The GPS module also keeps your camera's clock synchronized to GPS satellites.	CPL FILTER The CPL (Circular Polarizing Lens) Filter is used as a preventative measure against reflection and glare given off by windshields, road signage, license plates, etc. that inherently degrade the quality of video being recorded by the camera’s lens.	HK3ACC HARDWIRE KIT Parking mode provides 24-hour surveillance for your parked vehicle. With new state-of-the-art ACC detection features, the dash cam will automatically switch to parking mode recording when the engine is off, and switch back to normal recording when the engine is turned on. Fantastic Camera, when it works

I had this dash cam for a month. Went ahead and hardwired it. With Corona Virus really sucked getting everything i needed but I did. First problem I had was this dash cam was severely interfering with the electronics of my car. My tpms sensors were going crazy. I wrapped every beginning and end in ferrite clips. Did a great job. It worked for another 2 weeks and then completely died. It no longer turns on at all. I tried multiple power sources. Unplugging and plugging back in. No matter what it doesn't want to turn back on. So spending like 400 bucks on something that doesn't even last a month.....not really worth the money. Should have went with blackvue.

Again the item has broke. I received a replacement gps mount and 3 months later it broke again. It was labeled defective and I sent the whole unit back. Complete waste of time and resources hard wiring the thing. Just a huge disappointment overall. It interfered with my tpms sensors big time, parking mode never really worked properly, the gps module dies every 3-4 months and when I reviewed the 4k video I still couldn't see license plates. Save your money and buy another dashcam.

Previously had the A129 Duo, A119 v2 and A119S versions by Viofo and have always enjoyed their products. Decided to try the A129 Pro Duo and this one doesn't disappoint. Great upgrade if you want to start recording 4K on the front (rear camera is the same as the A129 Duo). I like that Viofo is an active member on one of the major DashCamera forums and they listen and respond to their customer base for issues and wishes the users provide regarding their products. You really can't go wrong with their products. Word of advice, make sure to invest in a good brand name and fast memory card for use with any dash camera. It'll save you a lot of headaches.

For some reason the camera keeps corrupting the SD card, which results in failed writes. If you search the internet for "beeping issue A129 Pro", you'll find plenty of discussion from other people with the same problem. I highly recommend you wait until these issues are resolved until you purchase this dashcam.

Installed the Viofo A129 today on a 2019 BMW x5 40i, started with hardwiring first (I used the Plozoe Cam Hardwire kit from Amazon). I used the fuse box under the glove box, tapped into fuse F63. There is also a 10mm nut that I grounded into. My camera shuts off after about 2 minutes when I shut off my car and alarm is armed, which is what I wanted because I don't want the camera to drain my battery.

So far so good, don't see any problems that others are having but will have to see how it will act in a few months. I will update my review in a couple of months.

Worst Purchase Ever

The only good thing about this purchase was the shop where I ordered this item which bent over backwards to help me with all the issues that I had with this system. They were awesome. This camera is not. First I had power issues, which was resolved by using the lighter socket instead of the USB. Then I had to reformat the SD card multiple times to keep the screen from freezing. Next, the GPS mount failed, and a new one was sent to replace it. Seemed ok, then more trouble with the cam beeping at me and the rear camera coming and going. The cable to the rear cam was replaced, the footage from the rear was working, and I was happy. Until the next day, when the rear cam stopped working altogether and the front cam froze on the image of my work building for the entire hour drive home. Having installed the system in March, this being now July, I removed the system from my vehicle as I will never trust this cam nor any other VIOFO product. I returned it for a refund. Good thing I hadn't permanently mounted it as this would have been even more of a nightmare trying to troubleshoot. Buy something else unless you like spending all your time troubleshooting something that refuses to work reliably.

Hard wiring for parking mode cause too much trouble?

My brand new car got hit at shopping center parking lot. I decided buy this item for parking mode. I had to purchase HK3ACC Hardwire Kit and add a fuse kit for enable it. I made wiring very correctly and parking mode worked until battery reaches 12.4 volts. Few weeks later after install, the front camera start beeps, left light was blinking at the same time. I found lots of driving time didn't recorded. What I did was software update and format the sd card and it was looks fine. Later I did over 5 hours round trip. During that time a pickup truck followed me very dangerously long time even he got enough space for pass me. I thought I will report it for reckless driving and checked up sd card. The camera didn't recording over one hour after stop by rest area so I got no evidence at all. I contacted seller they sent me replacement by warranty but it happen again, again... Now I got rid of hard wiring and use provided usb cord which doesn't support parking mode but the camera record every driving hours without skip. If I knew parking mode and hard wiring make this kind of problem I'd rather purchase 100 dollars less dash cam without parking mode.

There are more problems.

Night vision: It is not so clear whatever they advertise like Sony sensor blah blah...

The camera is getting too hot even it's winter time. Dropping resolution doesn't help. And it has self protection mode so manufacture already know there are overheat problem I think. Now I cross my finger for summer time because I installed rear camera on the tinted glass.(it's impossible to remove it without damage). So I have no choice just keep use this camera but I really regret about this purchase....

So I bought two of this cameras and both are going crazy randomly beeping and not recording. I had a Cheaper$$ camera before and never, never had an issue. I have tried updating the firmware and not even that fixes the issues with the cameras. Also the cameras are set to record constant and for some reason it’s recording in a time lapse mode, and yes I have make sure that it is set to constant recording. So much money for something that isn’t even recording as it should!
